Recovering isn't always easy, but the kindness and professionalism of your staff made a world of difference to me. I particularly want to mention the nurses Rochell, Sierra, Marthe, and Shernette for their patience and encouragement. It's the small things-a friendly check-in or a quick response-that helped me feel like more than a patient. The physical and occupational therapy gym is top-notch. I particularly want to mention Robert, Gloria, Kari Anne, Brie, Jordan, and Carlos who inspired me to work hard in spite of the pain and dizziness to recover. The CNA's were hard working and compassionate. They helped with my basic needs and treated me with respect. I particularly want to mention Miriam, Love, and Betina. Thank you for being there. Social services gave me sound advise through my stay. They made my discharge happen. I particularly want to mention Sol and Mickey. I especially want to thank Sol for intervening in a crises. She even came in on Sunday to save the day. Thank you to Fiona, Jesse, and Jennifer for leading the team. Greatfully, Charles Leitner

RUN don't just walk away from this facility! It is the worst experience we have ever had at a…read morehealthcare facility. If you care about your loved one, find a different rehab. We brought so many issues to the executive team during my mom's two week stay. None of it was addressed properly and some things reoccurred. Here are a few examples of the poor care: 1. This morning I learned that my mom's bipap machine was not connected to the oxygen for the entire evening. Her oxygen level was 80 when the morning nurse came in. This is a dangerous level! Until I asked, this was not even documented so that someone could assess it with evening nurse. 2. Multiple times my mom's IV and pill medications that were due 3x a day were given so late in the morning that they had to do two doses close together instead of 8 hours apart. She would have missed her third medication if I wasn't tracking it. 3. Medication was left out in the open on the medication carts. Not only is this illegal but very for some of the residents who wander through the hallways and could take the medication by mistake. See two of many times I took photos of the unattended medication. 4. They are understaffed. It took upwards of half hour to two hours to get my mom changed after she had an accident. This is so unacceptable! The only bright spots of this facility is Bijou, the respiratory therapist and the PT team. They are good but still not worth risking your loved one's life at this facility. Do yourself a favor and do more research to find a better place.

When I went to leave I realised my new back brace for my broken back I got at the hospital and and other disability supplies were gone from my closet. I asked the nurses and everyone. No one could help me of even seemed to care or look for them, so I had to leave the facilities with out the back brace and suppies I was given in the hospital. Nothing fresh, nor healthy. While a good majority of residents still abide by the Catholic No-Meat-Fridays, the facility sometimes only serves meat dishes on Friday - stating "We can make you a Grilled Cheese if you want". The priest hired to say mass can care less about the mass - many times he skips parts of the mass in order to get out of "work" sooner. Given the high price paid for a Catholic Senior Living Facility, their performance is AT BEST is one star, if even that.

I am in a different state, so I have a case manager where my mother lives. Katia called myself and my case manager to go over therapy and wound care, etc. We got on the phone and all she does is ask US what we want to know. There were no nurses or doctors or therapist on the line. Gave us no information. Then she calls to tell me my mother is being discharged. Got everything ready and even went down there but she was not discharged. When I questioned her , she just lied and said she never told us that. I have never seen a more UNPROFESSIONAL person in my life. That facility is way too small and everyone ,but Melinda and Jennifer, were a nightmare to deal with. Thank goodness after this hospital stay, she went elsewhere.

The Nurse on duty,(or whoever she was) was not wearing any type of identification, no name tag, nothing. Whenever shift change was the nurse never came in to introduce herself. 2. Nurse left the meds on the tray top didn't bother to wait until he took his medication- just dropped them off and left. 3. The bed was never made or straightened. If it weren't for me coming everyday and straightening his bed, it would never be done. I know that because my uncle gets out of bed in the morning and sits in his chair. He is sharp as a tack, and said I spoiled them because I would straighten his bed while I was there. 4.According to the website for WESTGATE, it boasts of 'fine dining'. Every food tray that came to the room was cold and not appealing. Cold Eggs in the morning floating in grease from the sausage. Spaghetti in tomato sauce: COLD, 2 fish sticks on a bun and 4 'tater tots': COLD. you get the point. 5. My uncle is a diabetic. He received his dinner tray today after 7pm. And again it was COLD. Thankfully we bought some food with us for him. When asked why they received dinner so late, the nurse said "she didn't get the chance to ask the kitchen because she was busy". So, when you observe that at 6pm the dinner trays have not arrived, you don't call the kitchen? what exactly IS going on in this facility? Please dont send your loved one here!

From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

And we have joined her for dinner several times and the food is upscale and delicious! We especially like the cocktail hour each night in their bar area. I love that there are two restaurants to choose from and there are new specials every night. There are also plenty of fun, interesting shows, activities and exercise classes for her to participate in. She enjoys regular transportation to Publix, the mall, or a doctors appointment. In addition, the grounds and community center are so beautiful and peaceful. A special shout out to many of the wonderful staff members: First our initial contact Lonnie Ehmann who shared her time and talent and layed the foundation for our initial visits. Fabulous Kim Mancini, Yolanda, and Vivianna all made my mom's transition seamless and comfortable. Stephanie, Jennifer and all the wait staff at the Waterfront dining are so gracious and outstanding! In the 1930's Florida began attracting snowbirds with Finnish roots. Today you can visit a Finish display in the Lake Worth Museum or attend the annual Midnight Sun Festival held annually in Bryant Park. There are also a number of businesses owned by and catering to visiting and resident Finnish and Finnish Americans. Another sign of the Finnish legacy in Lantana is the Finnish American Rest Home. When Lantana and Lake Worth area Finns expressed the need for a place where people could spend their retirement years in the comfort of their own customs Mr. Sam Miller invited everybody interested to attend a meeting at the Tourist Club on October 21, 1970. At this meeting, Mr. Janger donated the first $75.00 to establish the Finnish American Rest Home. The Finish Village has evolved to offer three different levels of care, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, and Home Care to transition people as people traverse the stages of aging. I was able to visit the Finish Village during the 3rd annual Scandinavian Christmas Market held November 20-22. The event had prepared food and pastries made by St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Lake Worth. The church was founded in 1953 by Finnish immigrants and the official languages of the congregation are English and Finnish. In addition to great food there were items hand made by the church, European candy, meat and cheese, Swedish Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, jewelry, candles, and more for sale. Outside there were more vendor tents selling crafts and poinsettias and bounce houses for the kids. I have Swedish roots so I especially loved this cultural event. Admission was free which allowed me to be able to spend more liberally on gifts and food. This was my first time attending the Christmas Market but I hope to make it an annual tradition.
