This was our go-to gas station when we're in the area. We're from out-of-state. We do a lot of driving and use a lot of gas! Since we don't live in the area, we rely on service stations for bathroom breaks too. This station STOPPED letting customers use it's bathroom!! Since paying at the pump is typical, we didn't know we couldn't use it until we'd already started pumping the gas. I will be contacting Carlos, the District Mgr, to complain but this station has already lost our business. I also WON'T be using the Amazon Lockers located on the property. I'll be suggesting to Amazon that they relocate the lockers to a customer-friendly business. read more

I think my card got "skimmed" here, pump 4. Thought nothing of it at the time, but the pump kept prompting me to present card (via strip as chip reader was not working) resulting in error message stating "see cashier". Went to pay inside, no issue with payment on first try. A week later, I received a fraudulent charge via Amex, in Van Nuys. Unfortunately for offender(s), Amex plays no games with fraud. Hopefully I am wrong, and my card did not get 'skimmed' here. This station is always big on security at pumps, usually denoted by security tape affixed to pump. It wasn't on there the night I think my card got 'skimmed'. The offenders had ALL of my card information, or at least enough of it to type my card number into payment system, at a Target, for a sizable charge, that would have been captured, if not for Amex's aggressive intervention. Be weary at pumps, trust the security tape - if it's not there, avoid presenting card. read more

This is one of, if not "The" cheapest brand name gasoline stations in the South Bay. Don't get tricked by other gas stations which list 2 prices, one for cash/ATM and the other for Credit, it's usually a fairly noticeable differential. This location also is home to tricky motorcycle police hiding in the front of the gas station looking to bust some cars violating the law, so be wary. read more

I like filling up here because this station always seems to have some of the cheapest gas prices in the area. It's good to know ever since the gas prices have jumped by almost $0.50 a gallon in just a manner of days. This is the result of Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke's QE3 (Quantitative Easing) which is the Fed printing more money out of thin air to buy up mortgage-backed securities at the tune of $40 billion a month and $45 billion of long term bonds...indefinitely. This Fed action actually caused the dollar to devalue even further which translates to higher gas prices. Economists say that our dollar is actually worth about $.038 as inflation has taken a toll on the ol' green back over time. This station is located at the corner of Hawthorne and Torrance Blvd. making it convenient to fill up and take off as so that we can join the parking lot on the freeway and most importantly do our part to contribute to the global warming of the planet. For the third time they are back to 76. I've always gas up at this one they changed brand names like 5 times if i can remember hope they stick to 76 i like this due to the fact i get the cheaper price for using my 76 credit card. This is located on the corner of Torrance Blvd and Hawthorne Blvd. Good amount of pumps the only drawback is the middle pump on both ends if the end pumps are being used it's tough to squeeze in between to the middle pump unless you drive a smart car or mini Fiat type car lol Be cautious of exiting out on to Hawthorne from the corner drive cause you get stupid people who make u turns at the light and may not pay attention that you're coming out. read more

First the good part - I've found this gas station to consistently have the best prices in the area. The bad parts - Self-service pumps frequently have broken security seals suggesting tampering with credit card readers; Very common for the pumps not to dispense receipts, meaning going inside and sometimes waiting in line while your car is unattended; Attendants inside usually rude and unprofessional. Once when I asked for a receipt the attendant would not come to the window making it necessary to shout my pump number several times. No respect for customers. read more

Beware of people asking for gas money at this location. I was filling up my gas tank and was approached by a lady wanting me to spare her some gas money, she clearly looked like she was parked on the side for a while, not even at the gas pump. I politely refused and she made her way to other patrons. Other than that, this is an ideal place to pump your gas if you are in the city of Torrance, cross-streets are Torrance Blvd. and Hawthorne Blvd. This particular station can be very busy during the week so be aware of oncoming vehicles. read more

I come here often because it's very conveniently located on the corner of Hawthorne and Torrance. If you live in Torrance, you probably drive by it a lot. The gas station is fairly big and though it's located on the corner of two main streets in Torrance, it's actually not TOO bad getting back out onto the street. The prices are fair. It's not a Chevron, Shell, or Mobil so if you're picky with gas, then maybe this is not the place for you. I was in the area several days ago when I noticed my work ride needed gas so I figured I would stop. The things that I look for in a gas station are easy access in and easy to get back onto a major and get the heck out of there and this gas station met those expectations. This gas station is located on the corner of Torrance Blvd & Hawthorne Blvd. This gas station prices were pretty reasonable considering the recent increase in gas prices. The pumps did not charge a service charge to pump my own gas like Arco nails you for. The pumps allowed me to use my work credit card with ease and even provided me with a receipt when I prompted the digital display on the pump for one. This gas station had plenty of pumps so you were not playing chicken with idiots who forgot what side their gas tank is on, if you are one of these idiots look at your fuel gage and there should be an arrow indicating which side you tank is on. This gas station had a small mini mart attached, offered lottery, and had an ATM outside so basically it met all of my needs. The major plus for is there is a Habit burger right across the street so I find myself in this area often. In my personal vehicle I gas up at Costco in my work ride I will make a point to come back here. read more

Cheaper gas and even cheaper if you have a Vons reward for gas! Nice little grocery mart. But this station is a pain to get in and out of and the wait is long. This is one of the most cramped gas stations I have ever been in. This is also the first time I have ever gotten the message that my debit card could not be accepted. I have always used my debit card to get gas for over 10 years. I had to use my credit card, which was not my plan so it was really annoying - but I was nearly out of gas. The pump was really run down and the rubber casing that keeps it in place when it's pumping was broken and really hard to use. I expected more from Chevron. read more

I was also told by customers she does it with cigarettes too. To avoid this, use the self scanner to scan in your products. Do not let her void your scanned items, or have her manually punch in the amount in the cash register. She is possibly pocketing the extra money. I went here and got charged twice! The first for $50 was the actual cost to fill up my car. The second was a charge of $120! That's not a typo. One hundred twenty dollars! RIP OFF! I went in to confront the cashier about this and she tried to tell me this was a normal verification charge and that there was no way to reach the manager. She was extremely rude. Finally got the charge off through my cc company. I couldn't believe it, I go here so often and I've never had that happen before and when it did they were completely unwilling to admit their mistake. IT WAS A FRAUDULENT CHARGE, I can't believe the cashier gave me so much attitude about it and I shan't be returning to this Chevron after the way they treated me. A simple apology and a promise to handle it when the manager arrived and follow up with me would've probably been sufficient but instead I was met with utter hostility as though this charge was somehow my fault. This station does keep things pretty clean overall and the prices tend to be a bit lower than most in the area. The biggest problem with this station is that the credit card system keeps going down. This happens to me about once a month. I don't know what's up with their network, but this problem keeps happening. So they can only take cash at those moments. But I rarely ever have enough cash to cover an entire tank of gas. So I just leave and feel frustrated and like I've wasted time and will have to spend more time to fill up somewhere else. read more

My family and I have been going here for decades but my recent experience merited a 1* review. We purchased a car wash and luckily remembered to return and redeem it on the expiration date. However the car wash said our code was invalid so I went to the window. The attendant very rudely stated that today was the expiration date so it was expired. She continued with "we tell all our customers that the code is only good through the day BEFORE the expiration date. I told her that there was not such notification when I purchased the wash and besides, that it not reasonable at all. Again the attendant was very rude until she relented and had me fill out a Car Wash REFUND form. The fact that this station has a REFUND FORM for the car wash shows that there are many customers that are having problems with this policy. The argument was so asinine that I briefly questioned whether I was in the wrong. Nope, I'm right...an expiration date means the code/promotion/etc is good through the end of noted day. This policy is not reasonable but what magnified it was the horrible attitude and customer service by the attendant. If the station's management reads this, my visit was on 5/31/15 at around 7PM. read more
