I felt forced to breath out of my mouth even when walking down the street. I am thin and in good health- this was not my fault and nasal sprays or antihistamines were not working. I even gave up dairy for years and nothing changed. No other doctor ever gave me real options besides dinky nasal sprays. Dr. Shin suggested Neuromark, a medical treatment for chronic rhinitis, and he did some other non-invasive procedure but I can't remember the name. Anyway, after a month, I'm perfect. Getting the minor procedures done made my nose annoying for a few weeks but basically a normal person now at six weeks out. It's made a huge difference in my quality of life. He's smart- he didn't just put a bandaid on my problem after years of suffering, he fixed it.

However, after waking up mornings groggy with terrible headaches and nodding off constantly during the day, it became obvious something was wrong My first experience at SMA was very comforting. The doctor and an assistant met with me, explained the condition, what was going to be done to test for it and potential treatment options. Then I set up time to perform a "sleep study". Back then, you did this by staying in a room at the sleep center. Technicians hooked you up to equipment, talked you through the process and then you slept in what amounts to a mini-hotel room for the night. It is very disconcerting to sleep with a mask on your face at first with tons of equipment attached to you, but the technicians were super friendly and patient with me as I struggled through it. Nowadays, you are more likely to get a home kit due to insurance companies changing the way they cover sleep studies. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The kit is easy to hook up and a technician patiently takes you through the process in the office before you take it home. There was also something comforting about doing the sleep study in my own bed rather than a medical office. The end result of all this is that I am using a CPAP machine to deal with my sleep apnea and it has helped tremendously. There is a dramatic difference in how my days go in terms of wakefulness and alertness. If you are battling sleep apnea, I highly recommend a visit to SMA.

If like me, you seek a better understanding of the (1) etiology of one's sleep-apnea or (2) variety of treatment options, this is NOT the place to go. A 20 minute telemedicine intake consultation with an NP left me somewhat dazed and feeling (feeling mind you) as if even I, a well-informed consumer of medical services, had few choices. Next stop, a Langone system or Mt Sinai system sleep medicine practice that offers in-person appointments.

During the appointment, the doctor was unhelpful and seemed to have their own agenda. I was referred to sleep counseling and told that someone would be reaching out to me--but I never received any follow-up communication. I scheduled another appointment a couple of weeks later to address these concerns, but that visit was also canceled just 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. My time was not respected, and I would not recommend this service.

I went to several other docs, and they were afraid to prescribe it to me. Then i heard about dr krauss, and he was comfortable prescribing it. In and out in under 5 minutes. How great is that? Then one month, i missed my dr K appointment and had to go to another doc, I asked for my "certain drug" and he said no, then I showed my bottle and said its a refill because my usual doc is out of town, and suddenly it was ok to prescribe it. I guess most docs are afraid to be the first one to take the leap and prescribe something with "certain connotations" Thank goodness for brave ppl like dr k. Dr k, , he is 100% legit. Everything he does is legal and within his scope of practice. The meds he prescribes are based on your complaint, and he assesses your condition like any other doctor. Very fast he does it, but fast does not mean bad. He wont prescribe you drugs that may harm you as he do ask you what else you are on and what medical conditions you have. I like dr krauss. His style is not for everyone, but if you are educated, know what treatment you want to try for your condition, he can help you. If you need an hour to talk about your problems, please go elsewhere and don't hold up the line outside.

I want to share my honest experience so people can make the best decision for themselves before…read morechoosing this clinic. If you work, go to school, rely on Medicaid transportation, or live far from the clinic, please be aware: missing an appointment without calling 24 hours ahead counts against you for three days, and it can affect your ability to be seen. I understand that clinics need to protect their time, but the way this policy is enforced can feel like a punishment, especially for people dealing with real‑life challenges. In my case, I was going through a serious housing crisis my apartment was torn apart, windows broken, repairs happening on the landlord's schedule, and I was sick from the conditions. I also live with multiple sclerosis, which affects my memory. So yes, sometimes I forget appointments or can't make it because life is literally falling apart around me. That doesn't mean I don't care about my health. The young lady I spoke with was professional and respectful, and I appreciate that. But the overall system feels unforgiving. When things are out of your control court dates, unsafe housing, health issues, stress missing an appointment shouldn't automatically put you in a position where you're treated like you did something wrong. Another concern: I requested a refill for my inhaler, which I need to breathe, and I still haven't received a response. My pulmonologist appointment isn't until April 23rd, and my inhaler is almost empty. I thought the clinic responds within 2-3 days, but that hasn't happened. Now I may have to go to the emergency room just to breathe safely. Lastly, I have to be honest: some of the front desk staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Patients deserve respect, especially when they're sick. And discussing another patient's situation out loud in front of people is a violation of confidentiality. That should never happen. I'm sharing this because if you know you have a busy schedule, memory issues, chronic illness, or unpredictable life circumstances, this clinic's policies may add more stress instead of support. Everyone deserves care that understands real life happens.

First it was for my wrist. Now they're saying I need them for my neck too. Again. The total for that visit is 500 dollars plus insurance. This place is a scam. Do not go here. Ever.
