I have chosen this United States Post Office in Berwyn mostly on the weekends when I cannot ship my postcards or Poshmark packages within the week. It becomes my preferred option because it is located near an area that I frequent; plus, hours open on the weekend work best for me, which is late afternoon. Located along a busy Cermak Rd, the parking space is easily accessible to visiting customers, but you must choose the right time when backing out your vehicle to exit amongst incoming traffic. Now if you struggle finding parking along Cermak Rd, there is also 2-hr parking on Clarence Ave which sits off to the side of the location. An adorable, classy looking building is this post office not only on the outside, but inside as well. During my visit, there was a small line of customers inside which resulted in a short wait, but nothing excruciating. As someone who visits post office locations regularly whether it be for Poshmark, eBay, or postcard shipments the clerk presented a professional demeanor during our brief encounter. I was on my way in minutes after being presented with mailing stamps for my postcards, a receipt, and a short briefing about the survey listed on the bottom of the receipt which allows you to share your experience. I am terrible at doing the surveys on the receipts pertaining to my visits at post offices, but rest assured I always share a review based on my experiences whether it be yelp or Google. I used USPS hold mail with mail to be delivered by post person on 8/5. Mail was not delivered. I called the Berwyn PO several times during the day and no one answers the phone. The PO closes at 7 pm. This is not the first time this has occurred. I think this PO has its own way of doing things which is not in compliance with the USPS hold mail protocol. The person I traveled with used the same process and the mail was delivered on 8/5. I do not use this PO. I go to Riverside where the staff are polite and helpful. The Berwyn PO staff needs retraining concerning customer satisfaction and protocol. read more

I've grown up having my parents go to this post office and now I go to this post office and they have always made sure that we were taken care of with whatever it is that we needed. I was there recently for a passport and they allowed me to come back, same day, even when I didn't have the right papers and still get my application out. The staff has always been very nice throughout the years and they are the same people I grew up seeing. read more

Months ago I went to the post office to renew my passport and my daughter's. We needed an appointment for hers but when we got there we still had to wait about 45 mins in the passport line. I figured the people ahead of us were being so slow so we were patient, but NOPE it was the worker. We finally got to the front and the guy working was taking soo long. Im usually pretty patient but it honestly seemed like he was doing it intentionally and didn't wanna be there and work. We thought we could pay there at that window but he said we had to get in the other line...why couldn't he tell us this whole time while it was taking him another 45 mins to check our paperwork (which BTW was perfect because I double checked everything at home before bringing it in!) ?! We could've had one of us hop in the other line. He walked away to "make a copy" of our paper and was gone at least 20 minutes...being 2 feet away. Wtf?! We ended up being there close to 2 hours!!! He was also not following Covid protocols and refused to put on a mask, even when another customer asked! I had a fine experience here! I had to ship something small so I came here to take care of it. You don't really get a welcome when you come in but I do understand that they were busy and the left over holiday madness was still in full swing. I came in on a Thursday afternoon about an hour before closed and there was still a good amount of people in there. They have plenty of larger envelopes to choose from here. From bubble padded, to completely plain, and even a holiday themed one. All of the envelope options were very affordable all around $2. They have boxes also in store for larger things you need to ship but those can be a bit pricey. They have two little stations up front by the windows that come in handy if you hadn't wrote the address down on the package yet. Once I got to the register, I got a nice hello and the associate rang up my whole order SO quick! She circled the tracking number on my receipt so I could easily find it later. Parking is a bit tough if it's a busy time of day but they had more parking on the side of the building I think. This is one of your largest post offices in the area if you have a lot of things to ship! read more

I have lived here for almost six years and always sang the praises of the local post office. They were always efficient, inexpensive, and took good care of us, even sometimes walking packages up and leaving them in front of my apartment door. I don't know what the hell is going on there now though. Three times already this year they have refused to deliver mail because they "don't have access" to the building. No one can ever explain why and they never leave a notice slip. Then suddenly they magically have access to the building again. This week alone they have lost TWO packages and I don't even know how much mail. No one in my building has gotten mail in over a week, included a package where the tracking said it was delivered three days ago. I call and speak to the postmaster and I'm told I have a ton of mail there at the post office and my package. I go to pick it up and suddenly they can't find anything but two pieces of ad mail. They can't find the package that was supposedly delivered Monday, and then today (Thursday) I get a notice that a second package was "delivered", but it's nowhere to be found. I'm now thinking about paying to get a PO Box in a different town because I can't get mail at my own home, nor can I pick it up from the post office when the postmaster herself says it's there. This post office is AWFUL! I have never had so many issues, ever, with mail delivery than I have had living in Berwyn the past 9 years. My address has been changed with companies- not by me, and my mail ( a lot) has been returned to sender. I am always tracking down my mail. Whenever I contact the post office about an issue, it is resolved temporarily ( if at all), and then the problem continues again. I have never written a bad review on Yelp for any place, but I have had enough with this post office. My current issue with them is that I have have not received my mail in a month and a half. I generally come here around 3pm, and I don't have too much trouble finding parking. Parking in the city of Berwyn is hit or miss at any hour, so I won't base my review on parking. I gave the post office its first star because the building is absolutely phenomenal. The design, the texture, the craft are all still original and completely beautiful. I gave the post office its second star because I've never really had a "problem" here, and I mail a lot of stuff in different ways to different places. I will say -- short of sounding sexist -- that the male clerks are much more helpful and friendly than the women. I find the two women that generally work the counter to be rude, pushy, and obviously irritated with their life. The three men on the other hand (one a slight bit older and white, the other two younger and black) are always prompt, courteous, and have smiles on their faces. Much like David said, the people that don't understand the way a post office should work are the most aggravating piece of my trip. Unfortunately, odds are they'll end up with a rude clerk. The combination really stinks, and I much prefer the North Riverside location if I have to do anything intensive. read more

I go here to buy my stamps. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The office also opens at 8:30am and closes at 7pm. Super convenient.

Was given multiple forms of identification to pick up a package and refuse to give me the package although my name was on everything I just moved there a couple weeks ago. This particular USPS office of Berwyn IL 60402 has failed over and over again to scan delivery confirmation/tracking information when items are picked up by recipients at this post office box. I've been reading the reviews about this post office and I'm starting to freak out. I had a very expensive delivery that was supposed to be at my door today according to my tracking number. I was at home the whole time, I did not hear the door bell nor did they leave a notice. Now I have to wait the weekend and pray that it wasn't stolen. Aside from this, we always get the wrong mail delivered to us! It just makes me wonder if they mailed my package to the wrong address. Oh, the one star is for never failing to deliver ads to us. I sell a lot online and I am at post offices weekly. This is by far my most favorite post office! I have never had a problem with any of the workers there and they are always nice and helpful they are not slow and they don't take there sweet time like a lot of other post offices that I frequent. It makes no sense that somebody decided that 5pm on a weekday is the best time to send 30 packages....but it makes even less sense that USPS let everyone wait in line for 30 freaking mins while this happened. This has got to be the worst post office ever. I will drive to the 3 surrounding neighborhoods to go to their post office instead. But when I'm forced to go to the Berwyn post office, it has NEVER been a pleasant experience. I think the thing that bothers me the most is the way the employees act like they have no idea what happens to the mail when it's left with them. All of those employees have been there for as long as I've been going to the post office. It's not like they're new employees and don't know what their policy/procedures are. They have such a, "Oh well, I don't know" attitude. You ask them to actually look into something, they are so put out by the suggestion that they actually have to do something to provide customer service. Everyone is friendly, mail deliveries are timely, clerks are easy to work with on packages, extra hours are a blessing...special props to Rose and Quentin at the counter and Kerri, my regular mail carrier. I live in Berwyn but prefer this one to the PO actually closer to me (North Riverside). The last couple of times I went there, I got good service, but before that it was long lines, not enough clerks, clerks that were there not being friendly, and service hassles ranging from one clerk who refused a package because "my stamps were too old" to another who routinely accused me of using stamps a second time on packages because they weren't cancelled the firs time. read more
