I have always liked the North Riverside, IL post office. That is until yesterday, Monday, March 23, morning. The girl working at approximately 10am was rude and full of attitude. We came in to send letters by certified mail, and she could not have been less helpful. And the way she spoke to me was completely uncalled for. I asked why I was getting so much (bad) attitude from her and she snapped that she wasn't giving me attitude. I'd never sent mail certified, and she barely pointed me in the right direction to pick up the certified mail cards. I didn't realize I didn't have to fill out anything, and when I asked about that she she told me, "I just said you don't have to fill anything out." She was more interested in her hair extensions than she was in helping people. She barely spoke loud enough to hear, and she snapped and was very curt. In the middle of her putting the individual stickers on the letters, the "face emoji's" came up on the screen. She didn't leave the screen up long enough for me to press the "dissatisfied" emoji, as she shut it down right away. I'm so disappointed after my family being in the community since the early 1960s. Her customer service definitely left much to to be desired. Perhaps a training session? Perhaps just dismissing her! I'm giving 2 stars only because she did say (to my mother), "have a nice day" as I'm sure she wouldn't have said anything more directly to me. And she did put all the stickers on the certified envelopes. As another review said, "(this) worker(s) treats customers like (she's) doing us a favor. Disrespectful and terrible. read more

Horrible customer service by Brianna... horrible attitude... DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE... There's was no management around to help... you can tell she's underpaid by her ratchet and disrespectecfull attitude, very simple don't show up to work if it's too much for you. read more

DO NOT send priority or express envelopes from this location. Especially if you come in toward the end of the day. My express envelope was delayed for days and I missed my deadline. I recently sent a priority small envelope on June 12. Cost was over $10. Today is the 21st and tracking shows it has still not left the Chicago area. read more

If zero was option, I would give it a zero. We had a passport appointment for our infant and the woman decided to go to lunch before the appointment time because we were not there EARLY. The other clerk told us we could come back. There's just so much entitlement from these workers and they treat paying customers like they are doing us a favor. I have a job and do my job, can we not expect the same from you? No wonder people want to privatize federal agencies. Oh also, they cancelled our previous because the same woman who just HAD to lunch early, called off last minute. So this was our second try with them. read more

I would give it ZERO stars! I called today to Inquire about hours due to the circumstances and the rude lady said "do you not see whats going on outside?" NO I AM BLIND!?! Also its 4:30, but thank you for stating the obvious! How rude?! Does it cost her anything to show some kindness or is "whats going on outside" not enough?! Mind you, thats your damn job! She said her name was "Angela" which It probably isn't! However, I will be filing a complaint. It cost 0.00 to do your job and answer a simple question! I'm sure this is like all other reviews, typical problems with all government run agencies; so sloooooow, lack of customer care, run down facility, rude employees, damaged or lost pieces of mail more often than not. Really not sure why this agency is still around. I'd rather see tax dollars spent somewhere more useful like helping the homeless, health care or supporting local infrastructure. I don't need any more junk mail. All bills are online. Even grandma has moved from sending cards with money to online gift cards. FEDEX, UPS and email works just fine for everything else. read more

The worst post office ever!!! I had an appointment for 03-20-2021 for my passports n keep in mind that this is the only day that i could come in n i had to wait 2 weeks for this appointment. They called me on the day of the appointment n they cancel on me!!! I call them back they never answer their damn phone!!! I had to drive up to the office n get answers as to y my appointment was canceled. Finally the front desk clerk tells me that its bcus the person in charged of passports called off. Im like r u kidding me!!! U guys dont have anyone else??? Keep in mind this is on a Saturday y would u not have extra people to work to make sure this dosent happen to people like me. i've had to use this location many times because of proximity and i have to say this is the WORST post office i've ever been to. no ac, and it is filled with rude and apathetic workers and many times i've walked in and no one is even working the front desk. expect to wait 15-30 minutes minimum before even being talked to. read more

Terrible service. Pam is extremely lazy. If you are a small business owner I recommend not going to the North Riverside post office. Pam refused to scan my 15 packages that were ready to go. Due to her being lazy. There is no sign or policy anywhere in the post office saying 5 packages or less. I have been shipping out packages weekly using this post office for over a year. Now that Pam is in charge and on a high horse, she won't take her little gun and scan the packages. Why? Bc she's lazy. I went to another post office and was in and out within 2 minutes. If you're heading here do yourself a favor and turn around now. The staff here is complete garbage. I've been trying to ship a package over seas for like 2 weeks now. Every time I go here there are 2 employees there but only 1 working and a line literally out the door. Not sure if it's stupidity or laziness but probably a little bit of both. I went the other day about 8 minutes before they closed. As i walked up to the door the girl inside saw me coming so she SPRINTED out the side door from behind the counter and came into the lobby to lock the door before I could get inside. This is not a joke. Just picture that in your head. I don't need to write a bad review on here to warn people of this place because there are plenty more 1 star reviews like mine. Always fast and friendly at this location. Good hours, open until 3pm on Saturdays and dispatch mail three or four times a day during the week. In fact, if I send something from this location in the early afternoon to somewhere within the Chicagoland area, it usually gets there the next morning. read more

I am so IRATE, I find it nearly impossible to keep steady hands while typing this COMPLAINT. Today, Thursday, January 26, 2017, I attempted to buy postage stamps at approximately 4 pm. Upon arrival, a mail clerk, Pam, was assisting a customer. I asked if I could buy stamps. She said the post office was closed. I asked why. Her response "Read the memo". I didn't quite understand what she meant by "Read the memo". I, therefore, asked her again why the post office was closed and most sarcastically she said "Read the memo!!!" Not only was she sarcastic, but her demeanor was dreadful, obnoxious and downright nasty. What has happened to common courtesy? Good manners? Patience? Understanding? Common Sense? Civility? Consideration? Kindness? I, too, serve the public and attempt always to exercise refinement, sensitivity, discretion, friendliness and respect toward my patrons. I contend that practicing the "Golden Rule" invites, encourages and fosters good will. Apparently, Miss Pam of the North Riverside Post Office did not this see this memo. read more

I have been a customer of the US post office for many years and have never been as disappointed as I was when I walked into this location. The women that work there are so unprofessional and rude. I was treated as if I was in an unemployment line. Asking them to put a customers mail on hold shouldn't be an issue at all. Really LAZY response as if they don't want to work at all. read more

This is the worst post office in the world. Don't think that if you put a "'hold" on your mail delivery because you are out of town, that your mail will be held until you return. Nope! They will deliver the mail anyway. The mail will stick out the mailbox or fall on the ground so everyone knows you're out of town. Very obvious to anyone who wantst to rob your house. Serivce is absolutely horrible. Very slow and usually only one person available to wait on customers. This establishment is a major deficit in our neighborhood. Residents all feel the same way. My grandmother went into this location on Tuesday June 28th 2011 and got into line. She waited there for about 10 min while a man was at the counter talking to the cashier and flirting and goofing around. Another women came out from the back and asked if anyone needed help with packages and a man stepped up and was helped. When it was my grandmother's turn she asked for stamps and the lady told her she would have to wait that she couldnt do stamps. The other cashier continued to flirt and gossip with the man and my grandmother asked if someone else could help her from the back. The chasier got real snippy and remarked back "i told you i would be with you shortly" then the man turned around and screamed "can't you see im a paying customer and your nothing but whitetrash". Another women stepped in and asked the man to please not yell that her children were getting scared. He screamed back at her "if you dont like it then you can get the hell out of here too!" The cashier did nothing and said nothing when the man acted out of line and she was rude as well. My grandmother turned around and left and will NEVER give business to this post office. There are how many people out of work the post office can atleast hire decent respectful and curtious workers. I am totally disgusted that someone would treat my 81 year old grandmother that way.
