This is the only post office that I have been to where all the doors are PULL to get in. I know that seems like a silly reason to give a 2 star review but think about it- a PUSH door is so much easier to manage when you've got your hands full of packages or large boxes and you're just trying to get in!!! Yes, I realize that people come to the post office to receive packages and mail- that's why the best post offices have one door for PUSH and one door for PULL when you are entering or exiting. Rebuild a new facility and get all new workers. This location may or may not deliver your mail. They deliver to the wrong address and I've lived at the same address for 50 years. The actual location of the USPS facility is unkept and the greenery is overgrown outside. The building needs extensive repairs. Had another great experience today, was helped by two different gentlemen (one was Frederick I believe) and both were very nice, helpful, and polite. Even if there is a UPS or FedEx closer I always go out of my way to come to this post office because I've never had a problem with a package, the prices are cheaper, and the staff are very nice (plus they love through the line quickly every time, getting you in and out efficiently). read more

Absolutely hate this place. Been there three too many times. Clerks are not helpful, rude, condescending, and lack customer service skills. I have witnessed multiple older people asking for help or clarification and the clerks talk down to them rather than helping. If you are sending a package, avoid USPS. It WILL arrive damaged or shredded. Also, I sent a package internationally 3 months ago and the package is MIA. So I'm currently working through insurance. I have had only good experiences with this post office. The line is sometimes long, but they are working as quickly as they can. If you have to go by there just go 5-10 minutes early so you get finished and back on your way in time to get where you're going. You can also get your passport done here as well. read more

A business address and we get other offices mail as often as we get our own. Also, the delivery person throws the mail on the ground outside the back door (which is unlocked) or shoves it into the door slot and doesn't pick up our outgoing mail. Putting another review because seriously, this is really messed up. So one Sunday I was supposed to get a package from my favorite store, Hot Topic, USPS decides they take over the delivery instead of UPS and the package that have four items ended up not being delivered. I called Hot Topic about a possible replacement, but they told me that I need to wait five days and see if the original package would be dropped off. So I waited for the five days and called in for the replacement and got my replacement items. Today, received an email about the original package being returned to the warehouse and add the original items. I am not sure what happened, but somehow the package may happen in limbo Instead of being delivered in one of the trucks or something or probably got dropped off at different address but I never saw the original package. USPS needs to really pay attention to the labels when it comes to your addresses if they're going to take over package delivery from UPS or at least Have a bar carrier that could at least pay attention when it comes to delivering packages. At least I'm getting the money back from the original package at getting my replacements. read more

This is a very busy hub for Daytona. The staff has always bee very pleasant. There are automated options to bypass the lines that are great to use. Watch the signs for the drive up mailboxes. Also watch out for the fast moving cross traffic that sometimes occurs in the parking lot. This is also the location to get passports done. They will even take your photos for the passport. I would recommending letting them do the photos BTW as every photo I've ever brought in here seems to be "rejected" and I still have to have the photos taken by them. read more

They really don't deserve any stars. I sent a letter to the Social Security office in Port Orange Fl. I sent certified to make sure they get it. It was sent on Sept 19, 2023. USPS says to allow 10 days. Well its past that. I contacted USPS several days ago, and again. They assigned me case #. But nothing so far. I also chose to get text messages for tracking. The envelope hasn't moved since Sept . So disappointed in USPS. Contacted the USPS Postmaster for this area. No reply from her either. I can see why people don't use the post office, only if they HAVE to. After 30 days I can request a refund. It was $8.00 and some change It was only going less than 15 miles away. I'm guessing Ill have to wait it out. Hope your post office is better at delivery than here. I sent it from a UPS store which also handles USPS. Guess I should have sent va UPS.. This branch is one of the busiest post offices in the area. The staff is friendly and they offer the Passport service at this location also. If you have a PO Box, the mail is always delivered by 10am (which is great). The Automated Postal Center is one of the best features at this location, since, a majority of the time the lines are really long for the tellers. Update: The supervisor for this location is called Michelle. She created the terrible issues listed below. I recently talked with a local post officer and they wanted to extend apologies. That officer also shared review with postmaster. Thank you to that employee. Review below reflects the supervisor and 1 other employee's unhelpful attitudes. ------------------------------------------- Went to USPS.com in my account and created a label to ship an expensive item to my family in Daytona Beach. Paid for 2 day expedited with insurance restricted delivery, meaning they ONLY deliver to her house. The delivery was attempted but my mom wasn't home on Day 1 so INSTEAD of leaving package at house as requested, USPS Daytona Beach took it back to their station. Then I received a redelivery request in email and I set it up for Day 2 (today). My mom went to pick up before delivery, she showed her ID, had tracking info. She was there in office with me on phone for 1 FULL HOUR and they wouldn't give her the package saying it's COD (need to pay upon receiving). Please tell me HOW can I mail something personally from USPS.com without paying for it? I can't. My credit card was charged the night of printing label and at the post office those incredible, COMPLETELY INDUSTRY UNEDUCATED and hateful employees INCLUDING the on site supervisor told me I didn't buy the label through USPS.com (HELLO, it's on my USPS account) and that I didn't pay for it. It says on the label I paid in full. Everywhere on my credit card accounts and USPS it says clearly paid for, with tracking and no COD or whatever. I asked to talk to them through speakerphone and supervisor told me either your mom pays or we return it. What the heck lady, are you hustling me to stay in business? I said you need to give it to her now. She said, I'm not having this conversation with you over the speakerphone anymore so I said you need to mail this back to me NOW TODAY. She said fine and now I'm gladly waiting for my expedited package to RETURN back to me. I just want to let you know Bill France USPS on site supervisor lady and terrible team, I've talked to USPS customer service and both agents I talked to couldn't believe the way you handled yourself and the stupidity of saying my account shows unpaid when clearly item is sitting there in front of my mom and yes I left a report on your team so I hope your supervisors see this. I have had a package I'm transit for 5 days now. When arriving to the post office an older man tries to help me. He asked why I was there and I informed him it was to pick up a package he told me to wait off to the side and his supervisor would retrieve it. I wanted 30 minutes until I noticed he gave at least 10 people after me a reference number to hand to the supervisor for him to grab the package. Why would you direct me I'm the wrong area and not give me the proper information to receive my package. Once I realized I'd have to be self sufficient to get my package they tell me that my package does not even exist. Worst customer service we have ever experienced! The Manager was so rude to us when we said that we had packages shipped there for General Delivery, they said "what makes you think we would hold your packages, we are not a storage facility". We are traveling from California and have used General Delivery all throughout the states and had no issues until we got to Daytona. We had our daughters car seat shipped there, which they are suppose to hold for pick-up and we went to pick it up the day it got delivered and they wouldn't even look for our packages in the back, they just said that they sent them back to the sender. It's been about a week since this happened and when we check our tracking numbers, it still showed that one of our packages was sitting at that post office, they finally scanned it and "returned it to sender" a week after we were there, after telling us none of our packages were there. We are in shock and we are taking this to the Better Business Bureau because someone at this location should be terminated. Our daughters car seat shouldn't of been sent away and we are pretty sure it was sitting in the back when we were in there asking for it. BEACH STREET post office has the rudest female employee PAULINE,she has jail looking tattoos on her NECK and speaks with a heavy "long island" accent which i couldnt understand and she yelled at me for asking her to repeat herself because of her accent (not foreign,long island/newyork). I asked for a manager,she said "i am the friggin manager now what?!!" i asked who her chain of command was and she wouldnt give me a number or a name and i had to find out through another method that there was a male manager named "AJ" who was very nice,helpful and apologized for PAULINA. I like tattoos but on your neck at the post office,coupled with the attitude,accent and just her "facial expressions" were unprofessional at best. She was exponentially rude and i dont understand how this women has a job. When you go to beach street ask for PAULINA and you will see what i mean.
