As someone who's never ever written a review, I really think this is saying something. I am someone who hates bothering or inconveniencing people, and am very self aware. I walked in to send a package internationally. I walked in and an older white lady helped me. She said good morning and I said it back. She started asking me questions like where I was sending to. After I told her I was sending it to Canada, she IMMEDIATELY started complaining and had a very hostile attitude. "Oh yeah, this is gonna take such a long time" and just had such a weird and rude attitude over absolutely nothing. Then she asked if I wanted it insured and I said "how much would that be?" and she just goes "I don't know." in an extremely annoyed tone, then says "I'm looking" and ends up never even telling me anything more about it. I have worked retail and customer service before; I get how annoying people can be and working is, but holy, all of that was uncalled for. She's already ruined my day and I didn't even speak to her for 5 minutes. I didn't ask ANY questions, didn't even have the opportunity to process what was happening because it was such a short amount of time. I did absolutely nothing to her and did not deserve the disrespect. Overall I'm definitely never coming to this location again and only because my review is being reviewed won't curse, but I want her to know she's a female dog. Honestly just disgusting, go work as a fisherman or something if you can't handle people. You're the one who applied to this job and if you're going to act as disrespectful as you did, find another job. Complaining to other coworkers is ok, but AT the customer? Go find another job. You shouldn't even have the privilege to work here with that disgusting attitude. read more

I went to this post office to renew my passport. This has never been an issue before, but the woman working made me redo my form several times. I completely understand if something is wrong and I need to fix it, but the woman working was so unbelievably nasty to me for no reason at all. I have worked in customer service for over seven years and have never felt the need to be so rude and mean to a customer before, even really unkind customers -- let alone normal people. She made several unkind comments and, in addition to this, she kept pointing out potential issues with my form that ended up NOT EVEN BEING REAL ISSUES... after she argued with me about my shipping address she asked the other woman she was working with if "this was acceptable" and the other employee was like "yeah that's totally fine, you can just submit that." I feel like if you hate your life and want to be mean, that sucks, but at least do your job. I usually keep it together but I actually cried when I left. There is absolutely no reason to be so mean and volatile to people and I think this is inexcusable behavior for a human. I would not recommend this post office. read more

I recently used Ellicott City Enchanted Forest (near Safeway) US Post Office. What a horrible staff - named Eva. She is very rude. She was yelling at me when I asked a simple question. I was using the priority mail service and asked when would the package be delivered... that's the simple question I asked. She started yelling and behaving VERY RUDELY. One would expect people who passed the postal exam would be able to get numbers and letters of the alphabet correct...but this is apparently not the case. The condos in my building are lettered A through L, and the carriers constantly put the wrong mail in the wrong boxes. Often, they screw up the building numbers, too. I am going to have all my bills done online; I can only imagine how much stuff of ours I'm missing. I live in Minneapolis, MN and sent a letter by certified mail to someone in Ellicott City on February 14. The tracking has said "In transit, delayed" since February 18. I went to my post office to see what had happened, and they kindly tried calling the manager of that post office to see if they could get an update or more information. No answer. So they gave me the name of the manager and the phone number and I have tried several times, and same thing, no answer. So now I am thinking of sending a certified letter to the Ellicott City P. O. to see if that gets their attention. This is pretty ridiculous. read more

We have had 2 packages this year that the tracking was marked as being delivered to our door and they were not. We complained at the post office in person and by phone but nobody ever got back to us. Luckily we bought through Amazon and they resent the items. Neither item was high value. This post office is the worst. Very unfriendly staff. We go to Enchanted Forest when we need to use postal services. Unfortunately our delivery post office is Ellicott Center, wish we had a choice in that. A plug for Amazon, great customer service. Hi- AVOID THIS POST OFFICE!!!! I have I tried to send something international it took weeks, Instead, of days. I have our mail delivered to our home here in Ellicott City. I swear the mail carrier is stealing our mail!!! I have called countless times and complained about not getting my mail. When, I lived in Columbia the Post Office made sure I got all mail. Now, since moving here,I get half of my mail. And has been this way since moving here almost an year ago. When I go inside this Post Office the girls in front act like they are doing you an favor. When, as the customer, I am writing their checks! Extremely rude, to the point I will drive all the way to Elkridge. Just so I don't have to do business with them. For such an up scale place with high rentals and cost of homes. This Post Office should be on their game. However, they are not! By far the worst place, I have ever dealt with. The two times now we have used the Elliott City Md post office this month and things have been stollen out of cards and resealed, so when they arrived they were missing what was put in them. Both times the mail that had items stollen out of it they were going to different locations in different states, so the second time it happened today, it's very clear that it is getting stollen from an employee and resealed at this location. I am an online seller and ship 20 - 30 packages per week. The service at the Enchanted Forest office -- specifically Ava -- made me switch to UPS. It would be hard to imagine a more incompetent clerk. She is a walking billboard for UPS and FedEx. I have never had ruse service at USP. And I have never had pleasant service at USPS. read more

I've been in a lot of post offices. Weekly average our house ships out 2-3 packages, mostly through USPS. This location was standard issue drab post office. But the lady working - Laveda - was WONDERFUL! She was, no kidding, one of the happiest and nicest people I've ever met. In a post office this is like seeing a unicorn. Please give her a raise. I went to pick up my package this morning, there were a few of people in line, this black lady came out and collected our slips, there were one white gentleman ahead of me and several others after me. She got the package out and gave it to the gentleman right away, then she got out my package and set it on the counter and told me I had to wait until she collects all the other packages before she gives me mine. Do not use the mail box outside of the post office located at 2513 N. Rolling Road. Windsor Mill Md.I have been there when the box was overflowing. I now take my mail in side the post office. My husband just mail all of our bills 7 days before due (some local) and they have not reached their destination. Just spent an hour on the phone with my creditors getting late fees removed so that my credit is not scared by their inability to do their jobs. Over 10 customers in line and only 1 postal employee assisting customers around 2pm on a Thursday. After 15 mins another employee came out but she took her time setting up even though the line was out the door. Customer service is obviously not a priority at this branch! I've been using this post office since it opened for work and for personal needs. The postal workers at this location are knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. They take the time to treat each customer with care and courtesy. Please don't blame the employees for long lines. They don't make the staffing decisions and shouldn't be blamed for things out of their control. read more

It's interesting how the last three items I've had shipped indicated "delivery attempt made" yet there was absolutely no delivery attempt made and no slip left. Two boxes sent from Japan, and one from the UK. As others have mentioned, the employees here do not make delivery attempts. They'll hold your package without notifying you so you'll need to check for it in person. Otherwise, you will never get your package. USPS: this place is overdue for a purge. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Highly DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!!! I needed a small piece of tape for my package. I asked one of the employees for some tape no bigger than a size of a quarter. She answers "no, you must purchase it." I say "okay, I guess I have to buy it then." After purchasing the tape, I stand to the side and tape my package. While the employee is taking care of another customer, I ask "can I get a receipt with this package?" The employee tells me to wait in line again, so I did. While I am waiting in line, she takes care of another customer. The customer says "can I have some tape please?" and she says "yes you can." I look around and see if anyone saw and most of the people were in shock. I was livid! I could not believe that she did that. Even worse, the employee offers tape to another customer and tells them that they do not have to wait back in line! While in line I tell her "really, I thought you told me that there was no tape and I had to buy it" This employee acted like she did not hear me and goes to the back. I could not believe the way I was treated. Even another customer looked at me in shock and saying "wow I saw that." DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE! THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! read more

The delivery don't deliver packages ON TIME and don't bother to read the notes that THEY leave in your mailbox once you respond on how you'd like to get your mail. This post office and the drivers from this post office are the biggest scam artists. I was supposed to get my package on Monday (via first class mail) which contained a high end phone. I sign up over the weekend for updates. On Monday it updates that it will be delivered Tuesday (OK not a problem). At about 3p Tuesday (day of delivery) I get an email saying there's been an exception and customer requested. This is at the request of the customer. A BIG LIE! I did not at any point ask to hold it at the post office. I want it delivered regularly at address. The driver was either too lazy to drop this off, or was trying to steal my phone!! The box was the shape of a phone. I was furious. Of course I go down to this Post Office with 10 ppl in line. The 3 ppl at the counter are the slowest ppl I've seen. Once it was my turn, I explain what happened. She doesn't know why/how the package changed course. I write down my name, address and tracking number for her to find it. 10 mins later, a dude hands the package to her. She just hands it to me. No wonder USPS is in ruins! read more

SPRINGFIELD VA POST OFFICE ON ROLLING ROAD, horrible,nasty, rude, belligerent, ignorant and incompetent, I placed a priority express certified registered signature request mailing to an address in Springfield. I paid premium for these services. When my green return postal card was mailed back to me, it had the postal carriers name and signature on it. I was and still am in shock with this. I specifically paid and requested the owner of the home and recipient of the letter to sign for it, not the mail carrier. The real problem is when I called, the nastiness and nonsense from the manager, Ms Ness, was uncalled for. She refused to allow me to speak, overpowered me on the phone, rude, insolent ignorant, and tried to blame it all on my local post office at Woodstock MD. This matter is court related and I needed this done accurately. Ms Ness only yelled at me and would not try to solve this problem. The green card only had to be brought out to the customer to sign again for the letter. She was only interested in yelling at me and blaming it on the other post office. A matter that could have been resolved is now a huge issue I have to follow through with on a higher level. read more

A few years ago our post office in Clarksville was merged with the Ellicott City Post Office. What a nightmare. We have to go an extra 10 miles for the worst possible service. Our mail doesn't get delivered, or we get someone else's mail. We actually had the same package delivered to our address, that belonged to another address, 3 times. We took it back to the post office each time and it was delivered to us the next day. The worst was ordered $50 worth of peacock eggs, having the Post Office say they delivered them, and having no recourse to claim the insurance when I didn't received them. Go somewhere else. As with everything else in government, they feel customer service is not a priority. I was expecting a delivery, but the USPS driver saw my dog and left a note instead of the package. Ok, I can understand that. So I called and told them I would be home at so-and-so a time, and they wouldn't do it. I told them I would keep my dog inside one the delivery day, and only let him out while on a leash to go do his doo-doo. Nope. This just seemed uncollaborative, and they weren't willing to work with me. When I spoke to a supervisor, he put the delivery driver on the phone who said (in a belligerent tone) "YEAH, you've got that dog, right?" Even in his note they offered a 2nd attempt at delivery, but wouldn't do it even if I was home and kept the dog inside. Very unprofessional, not customer focused- and the USPS in general wonders why they are losing money. Why should I give them my business, after this experience? How will they handle customer interaction if a problem were to arise with something I'm shipping out? I'm not willing to take that chance. read more

I am writing this review because of the manager's unprofessional attitude. The manager's name is Jacqueline Cole. She was not an appropriate person as a manager. She ignored me at the first time and did for my next persons' requests first. Later then, one white guy requested holding his mails as same as me. As soon as he finished, she teated me very unkindly and did not give me any information about the hold mail service. I had to waiting for a long time even though I was the first person in front of the picking up door. I felt discrimination and made me embarrassed while I was waiting for the request. She did not say anything about apologizing for waiting or telling me any reason why I should have to wait so long. I think this issue can be an discrimination and Jacqueline Cole should have had to apologize about her attitude. She was unprofessional and did not know how to treat her customers who is paying taxes for her wage. Jacqueline! be nice for all of your customers. Awful. No other words to express how bad the delivery of mail is from this POST OFFICE. I've received mail service from many home addresses and this one is without a doubt beyond satisfactory. No minor mistakes, plain and simple, this is the definition of poor service. I attempted several on-line communications to resolve the failure to consistently deliver mail to my home but the problems continue. I spoke with Postal customer service on the phone but the problem is not resolved. Important mail and non-important mail inconsistently delivered, or not at all. Case in point, my drivers license renew form from Maryland MVA never received in the mail. I went to the MVA had the license renewed but with a commercial license they mailed it to the home address. Never received the license in the mail. Two separate mailings. Never received. MVA sent a duplicate (at my expense) and if only to reinforce the clear message that something criminal is going on, the delivery driver refused to knock on the door. Instead he put in my mail box a PSForm 3849 stating sorry we missed you. My neighbors are not experiencing problems. Some day it would be nice to have robots perform all functions for this organization. Friends and neighbors suggest that I get a P.O. Box as a work around for this problem. Most of the time, it's okay. But this one is hard to believe. I had a concern about my post office box. I rang the bell at the door to the back. A clerk out front told me I had to wait in line. So I waited maybe ten minutes before being seen by another clerk. She said she needed to go into the back to check. Ten minutes later, I was still waiting. I asked "Did she forget about me?" The original clerk replied "oh no, she's still checking." Another five minutes passed before she took over and addressed my question. There was no apology for the absent employee. I asked what happened to the first one. The answer--"She went to lunch". I countered with "Well, shouldn't she have come back to tell me?" The answer--"They told her she had to go to lunch." I stated "A well-trained employee would know to come out and let us know that." She answered "Well, I did help you." My response "I know that, but someone, even the supervisor, still should have let me know." She repeated to me that she did help me. That's one reason they are not doing well--employees will do their best when they are rewarded for doing well, and reprimanded (even fired) for doing poorly. The USPS does not seem to be concerned with that. read more
