If there was an option to give this office negative stars I would. Absolutely the worst! I've had terrible experiences before, so much so that I rarely try and use the post office. I had to get a passport so I went to the CVS and had my picture taken, and arrived at the post office with all documentation in hand. I made it up to the USPS employee who gave me a blank stare when I told him I wanted to submit my application for a passport. "You don't have an appointment", "he doesn't have an appointment";was echoed between him and a another USPS employee, as if the passive aggressive gesture would embarrass me out the door. I looked over my application and looked for the fine print; "I don't see where it says I have to make an appointment?" I asked. Then, obviously offended that I questioned their policy the second employee laid into me, and angrily stated "different establishments have different protocol on how they process passports". She then proceeded to tell me I would have to arrive at 7 a.m. the next day, only to schedule a time to come later on THAT SAME DAY so they could process my application! No where in the building, nor on the website does it state this: walk in hours are from 10:00 am-3:00 pm., that's it. She instead, advised that I drive to Austin and visit the UT campus to have my paperwork processed, and "they will take walk-ins" (with a smug look). So, after being refused services at this joke of a place I drove to UT and processed my application without incident. Full disclosure, I worked for this place. I can tell you first hand this place does not care about customer service. I've personally seen the Post Master (Dana) throw parcels over 20 feet into bins even tho they were marked fragile. I've seen mail mishandled which were not delivered, and I've seen customers treated poorly because they were missing mail. Yes, I'm a disgruntled ex-employee, but the truth is the truth. read more

I went to see if I could get a status on my package as it was supposed to arrive several days ago, which is not the fault of this particular office. However, when I approached the very uncheerful man at the counter and told him my issue he literally said "now how am I supposed to check that?" This man was very unkind and unwelcoming. As I stand in the ridiculously long line, half blue hairs, half people who had someone else tie their shoes for them, I pray that a random lightning bolt smokes me so I'll no longer have to go to another post office ever again. If "pull my eyes out" was a rating, I'd leave this instead of 1 star...I'm being generous too. Rude. Slow. Inept. I currently have one package missing( over 2 weeks now), and I'm trying to pick-up another one. For people that work full time this lovely place is open 2 hours on Saturday. 2 HOURS!!! Seriously??? Been in my new address about 6 weeks, to this day I do not get my mail properly, if at all. This might be one of the worst post offices I have ever been to. I have talked to the post master, Elizabeth, as well as 3 supervisors about the problems. they always tell you what you want to hear, but they never actually do anything. I have submitted complaints via the website, no effect. The quality of the US postal service overall has dropped significantly over the years. Sad to see. read more

I just watched the mail man for Georgetown Crossing deliver the mail and leave. I went out immediately to get the package I've been waiting for and he had put an "I'm sorry we missed you" slip in our mailbox without actually coming to our house! This is ridiculous! The funny part is this package was registered mail from Mumbai India. It got all the way to this post office without problems... the post office's mail men are the problem! I called for about an hour to let them know that the mail carrier left the whole mail box open with all the slots exposed most of them had some kind of packages but no answer but at 4.30pm exactly the the operator said they were closed for the day. I even called the fraud line and same thing. This Georgetown post office needs to be reviewed and get some one in charge that helps the community. read more

They never ever answer the phone. They put the wrong mail in the wrong boxes constantly. Good heavens, it's not rocket science to answer a phone and sort mail. Can't someone give these government workers an incentive to do a good job or something? And, how about smiling once in awhile? Some of them have a chip on their shoulders a mile wide. read more

This post office has serious problems delivering mail which is their only job. Several letters I have dropped off at this post office have never arrived to the addressee and they have not been returned to me either. Where does the mail go? Is this office full of mail thieves? Do they just throw mail out so they don't have to process/deliver it? It is very frustrating to send bills, birthday cards etc. with plenty of time to make it to the destination just to have the recipient say they never received it. This has happened several times. I also have packages with tracking numbers that never arrived to ME and they don't have a clue where the packages are and don't care. I'm left to file claims as if it's all MY fault. I now drive to other cities to drop off my mail which is ridiculous and a huge pain in the a$$. Mail that actually makes it through this PO to be delivered to me is in my neighbors mailbox and packages end up on other peoples porches that live blocks away. Worst experience ever!!! First off, this place closes at 4:30 during the week! How do normal people with normal jobs ever get in there??? The post office at the last city I lived in closed at 6:00! So I had to go in there on a Saturday, and they were 12 minutes late in opening the building! By that time, about 40 people had accumulated in the line! My biggest problem was with the workers...they don't know how to speak other than yell. There was a poor lady that had to yell her address across the room because the worker was too lazy to walk back to her and ask her politely. He (yelled) asked her from across the whole room, so now we all know where she lives. Also, the worker who helped me (I believe the manager) was super rude and yelled quite a bit with me too. Maybe they're all deaf over there, but at the minimum they could work on their manners. Ok, I've said my 2 cents and hopefully never have to go back there again! read more

There are never enough people working the counter! And for those employees who aren't working the counter, stop walking through chatting with the counter agents like you're on break when the customers are standing in line. Either leave the agents alone or pitch in and open another window. I have never been here and had less than a 20 minute wait. read more

I'm always pissed at how this post office works. It's been 3 times they don't pick up my outgoing mail even though I'm careful enough to leave a note on my mailbox saying there's outgoing mail inside. My outgoing mail just sat in my mailbox for 2 days. And I already talked to the mailman who delivers in my area about this and he says he always picks up outgoing mail. Then I don't know why he doesn't pick mine up. One time I sent a package via Priority 2 day shipping and it sat in this particular post office for a day then took another day to be transferred to Austin and finally arrived after 5 business days. I don't know why I had to pay that much for a priority service and got regular shipping service. Moreover, my package was on the way for delivery to me yesterday. At least that's what it says on the usps tracking page. But it's been 2 days and I never see my package. When I tried calling them, the phone kept ringing until it hung up by itself. And when I tried calling again a few times later, it just didn't connect anymore. Now I see why many people hate this post office. If there is a NO star rating I would give this post office that rating for what they deserve. read more

Forget trying to get a passport here. They never answer their phone and you have to come early in the morning to make an appointment (its 2017 get with the program and allow for internet sign ups). Then you drive all the way to the post office (which is about 15 minutes away because this is the nearest post office that does passport services for me) and you find a sign saying "we arent doing passport services until january 23" and they suggest several other places which are even further for me to drive. Any choice but this. My brother in law sent us a package that sat in this PO for two weeks until I initiated a trace and could see the tracking info. Then it moved quickly to us. However, when we got it, the package had been opened. Inside we found trip details for a stranger in Oklahoma. I emailed the people in Oklahoma. They had no idea how their trip info got in our package but their trip was over and the info was useless to them. Unbelievable. Unacceptable. read more

We just moved to Parkside at Mayfield Ranch and have NO MAILBOX and they say they have no mail for us, which is impossible. Where does it go then? Do they eat it, throw it away, put it in someone else's box? Come on people. UNACCEPTABLE! We have filled out THREE mail hold forms and each time we go back asking for our mail they claim to never have received a hold order. SERIOUSLY! And their excuse? For a good 2 months now we've been getting our mail and our neighbors, who moved in about when this started. We've lived our address for over a year. Now we're only getting their mail and they insist they're not getting ours. I realize mail delivery is close to rocket science but if you consider how antiquated the US Postal service is and how they're on the verge of extinction you'd think they'd try a little harder. This is a terrible post office in every way. Everything is done on their time and slowly. The compartmentalize every transaction and no one knows anything about any other function aside from the one they are doing. Case in point, "dead mail delivery, sent to mail recovery center". Leah is a life saver! She was so helpful and kind! I came in to turn in my application for a Passport and the first person I talked to said that I would need to make and appointment to get everything submitted. Which I totally understand. It is an officail government process they need to be sure that they have time to do everything correctly. So I went to my car and decided that I would call and try to see when the next available appointment was. But I got a busy signal. I waited about 5 minutes, called again, and got another busy signal (this is why they lost a star in my book) So I went inside and chose to make an appointment in person, that's when I got Leah. She saw that I already had all of my information and required documents (which you need to have a valid photo ID with a current address, birth certificate, application filled out, and photo meeting their requirements which you can get at a postal annex, cvs, or walgreens, and either a check or money order for $110) So she said that since there was no line she was happy to help me get everything sent off to process. She was very clear on everything that I should expect as I am waiting for it to arrive in the next 4-6 weeks. I just want to thank her so so much and give her the credit that she deserves for her excellent customer service and going above and beyond to help a girl out! Way to go Leah! read more

I have been to this post office many times. The service is always slow and rarely friendly. The staff generally move at a snail's pace. Phone service is usually even worse...almost always get a busy signal. If the phone does ring, it is rarely answered. IF you manage to get an employee on the line, he/she is typically rude and not at all helpful. HOWEVER, I called the post office today. Stephanie answered on the FIRST ring! She was very friendly and went over and above anything I would have ever expected to try to locate my lost package. Worst Post Office I've ever dealt with. Rude employees. I have been there at opening on multiple occasions. There will already be a line forming and they will consistently open the "gate" five to ten minutes late....whenever they feel like it. And God help you if one complains. I've had a little grandmotherly gray haired lady cuss me out in front of everyone in line for complaining. On the rare occasion when they deliver a package to my home (Amazon has started contracting with USPS for some Sunday deliveries) they have left the package in my driveway behind my truck. Luckily I saw it before backing over it. Yesterday (Sunday) they delivered a package and left it sitting in the middle of my sidewalk about thirty feet from my covered porch. I didn't see it until the Monday morning so it sat there getting soaked when my irrigation system ran. Another lazy, entitled federal employee who couldn't be bother to walk an extra thirty feet to lay it at my front door. Typical of this post office. Now, when I need to actually speak to a postal employee in person, I drive west to the Leander post office. They're actually cordial. read more

Worst Post Office EVER! Packages frequently get lost, wrong mail in my box at least once a week and no customer service. The phone just rings and rings! The Post office is named after a honorable veteran that was lost during the war. They don't keep up the outside of the building, landscaping and the parking lot. The inside is very dirty and dated. What a disgrace to keep the Post Office in that condition and have it honoring one of our fallen soldiers. I say do away with it! I can get someone else to deliver my things. In my neighborhood, we have contractors delivering our mail. Most of the time they appear to have climbed out from underneath a rock. Now go to old town. They have the actual post office vehicle, not a 1980 Monte Carlo, delivering the mail. They even have an actual post office employee dressed nicely in his government issued uniform, carrying his leather mail bag, walking door to door delivering the mail the old fashion way. read more
