Several…read moremonths ago I ordered a package that was to be delivered to my home (3 blocks from the post office). It was first sent from Southern Pines to the Aberdeen post office and then back again. After several phone calls(they take the phone off the hook so you can not get through) and a refusal of the office to give my package to someone I sent with identification to pick up the package on my behalf, I took off work early to retrieve my mail. Upon arrival, I was informed that I would have to pay for the package being sent back and forth and never delivered to me. I refused. After escalating the issue with the regional office I was refunded what I had to pay to pick up the box. Today I had a package that was scheduled for delivery. I made sure to leave a note that it be left beside my mailbox on my doorstep as I work over an hour away and am never home during hours they deliver. My request was ignored. I needed the package TODAY which now leaves me with the only option of leaving work early to retrieve the box again. This is the third time this has happened.

Obviously nobody answers the phone, but thats why you go in since you'll have to regardless of what it is your asking. This is as fast as a post office gets, service is not slow by any means. Never had any issues here, unlike other local branches who can't seem to do much of anything. The Monroe location has the worst group of employees I've ever encountered, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

However, the employee who prompted this review, clearly wanted it. As this post office is usually packed, I prefer to use the self service machine. I have prepaid QR codes that I simply scan and I'm on my way. However, sometimes I need to buy packaging, which is a feature on the machine. The other day, I grabbed a bubble mailer and went to pay for it at the machine, like I have many times before. As I am approaching the door, one of the associates yells in front of everyone " you can't leave with that", insinuating that I was trying to take it without paying. I then informed him I was taking it to the machine so I could pay for it when I scanned my QR code. He continued to tell me I could not leave the store with it, although the machine is inside the store. As he proceeded to argue with me in front of everyone, I had no choice but to get in the long line to pay for my packaging. Once I reach the desk and he processed my transaction, a survey came up on the machine- he asked me "if I was going to click the red button since I was mad". So on top of accusing me of stealing, he been unprofessionally berated me about being unhappy of the situation and prompting me for a bad review. Anyway, per his request here is his review! I make it a point to buy my packaging elsewhere and never go into that store again.

Didn't realize government agencies just decided not to do government jobs just because like it's some home run business. Terrible attitude and service and needs to retrain or hire better reps. Came in a previous time and my ID expired that day so needed to get a new one, whatever, but the guy seemed more worried about going to Lunch than doing my sister's passport and acted like everything was an inconvenience.

Finally an employee came but said they were not doing walk-ins that day as they were " just too busy." What?? He told me to try back tomorrow. I went to the USC post office on Hampton Street in Columbia. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The employee was most knowledgeable, efficient, polite and pleasant. This post office is open daily from 8am to 2pm and walk ins are welcome all day. PS: The Lexington County Clerk office no longer does passport applications despite what is documented on their website.
