I'm back with another review. Some of these people are the height of incompetence. Bought an item that was shipped from Los Angeles. It left L.A. December 16th using Priority Mail. Tracking estimated delivery in Charlestown IN on December 19th. I signed up for tracking alerts. The package arrived in Evansville IN on December 18th. It sat in Evansville for a day then was sent right past the (Louisville KY) area to Cincinnati. Why, how stupid. The shipment sat in Cincinnati for a day and a half and then on December 20th sent to the correct USPS Regional Center in Louisville 30 minutes away from the final destination. It left Louisville early morning December 21st with no destination listed per Tracking. The package showed up December 22nd in Leitchfield KY two hours away from destination. As of this writing it's sitting in Leitchfield 3 days past the estimated delivery and not even close to destination and no estimated delivery date. OK I know the standard line, it's Christmas time and they're busy YA DA YA DA. If you bother to follow the tracking, busy has nothing to do with it, it's incompetence. Finally, I signed up for alerts and the ONLY alert I got was when the package arrived in Evansville. All other tracking was done manually because I hadn't heard from them. There needs to be a total housecleaning from top to bottom at USPS and replace these clowns. read more

It seemed too little too late in terms of fighting covid but I requested my free test anyway. I quickly and efficiently reviewed my order and placed it under the cabinet. I again (when offered) ordered the second free set. Just as efficiently sent to me with tracking data, email announcements, etc. Wow, that worked well and what I thought id never use, I used. I tested a family member(negative) to confirm it was not covid. Maybe we have found a niche for the USPS! Next pandemic I nominate them as the front lines. United States Postal Service gets a bad rap. It's a historic institution and a job that is never ending. I'm sorry to say people don't realize how gratifying it is to themselves and others to sit down and write a letter to a friend, a relative, or a member of the armed forces that may not receive any mail! I have always sent greeting cards to my family. I didn't have brothers and sisters so at one time I sent all my numerous cousins birthday cards every year. After a while I was hurt that it became expected yearly. When I didn't even get a response or thank you one actually wondered why he didn't get a card. Please! Now it's rare I send cousins greeting cards. I stick to my dearest friends and especially my last two Uncles and my one last living Aunt. Thanks to Klaus my joy of having a pen pal is renewed. I do have to limit it because of the expense. Not to mention the fact that I've got enough to do trying to stay alive at my age and in Manhattan! I just didn't have the energy to go to the post office today. My daughter just set up her online USPS account and encouraged me to do so. She said it was fast delivery. I'm pleased to say I set up the account this morning and I'm stocking up on stamps before the rate goes up on July 9th. I'm recommending you do the same. In a competitive world, one wonders how they will survive. You see, I mistakenly ordered regular stamps from the USPO. You HAVE to see the humor, right? I get updates showing it is arriving "Today" the 25th. Of course, not delivered. I get my usual daily notice of what is arriving today (the 26th of July) and no mention of my order. Thus, I have to track my package within the USPO site, and there, I can see it was delayed. So trust the USPO who cannot even deliver their own stamps on time. Best laugh of 2022. read more

Truly disheartening that this organization is representing our country's mail service. I used to wonder how large corporations could take business away from a division that is government funded, but the service here speaks for itself. Every time I use USPS, for packages or mail, I run into one issue or another. You can see from my attachments below, I ordered a package that was set to arrive on June 11th by 9 p.m. Per usual USPS, the package did not move an inch the entire delivery day. Then, 2 1/2 hours before it was supposed to arrive, I notice that the delivery date changed altogether. No notice, no call, no email. It is this specific DC branch that I routinely see this behavior with, & I finally felt that others deserved to be warned. I would say it's just this USPS branch, but I would like to think that we would have our most experienced & efficient employees working around the nation's capital. read more

Much more successful and less dangerous than the rival company with a similar name: Untied Skates Postal Service. They always ended up breaking bones and fracturing skulls because they insisted on having all their mailpeople go around on rollerblades and skates, and that the laces had to *always* be untied, as a gimmick. Fools. You know, as unfriendly as so many of the postal employees are - and believe me some of them are incredibly unfriendly... and as in a hurry as a lot of the postal delivery people are - and believe me a lot of them are really in a hurry... I actually think this is by far the best service that we have for mailing sh**. Not literally, but I mean if you wanted to maybe it'd work. Ew. Significantly better than UPS who have had their UPs and downs, and all of the others. I always get what I'm supposed to get either when I'm supposed to get it or before. I haven't had problems with them. They're not extortionately expensive and they have some good deals. I have to love them. I can't deny it. Credit cards (with tracking number) and license tabs were shipped by us and a major bank shipped a credit card but none of the items were received at an address in Bethesda, MD. Yet, junk mail is delivered to the same address. We have tried to contact the Bethesda, MD post office at 1-301-941-2670 many times. No one answers the phone in that office. We also tried to call the main post office hotline at 1-877-876-2455 a number of times. You're put on hold for 1+ hours. Lesson learned - Never ship or mail anything important with USPS Service. Let one of the private shipping companies with a real customer service and accountability handle your package. With US Postal Office, the quality of service is in the name, US Postal. read more

Usps is becoming my worst enemy. I ordered stamps for my wedding invites. You guys lost those for a week. They finally come. I mail the wedding invites. You've now lost all of my wedding invites. We resent replacements, my family who lives a few miles away still hasn't gotten any of the three invites I've sent. You send me an email w informed delivery that I'm getting several rsvps today but guess what?!? Nobody delivered our mail at all!!!! I am TOTALLY FED UP WITH USPS!!! It's shameful that you take no care in what's going on where people do not have other options for standard mail. When they don't deliver, you may take it or leave it--this is the best illustration of monopolizing a service. used their services to send a "legal" document that was certified with a tracking number and a return receipt. Name it. The staffer "assured" me that the item--a letter, in this case--would reach its destination in three to four days. The fact that the tracking information is still the same after 13 days indicates that they are not even aware of the item's location. Any option? Nope, just ask for a reimbursement for the unfulfilled service. You "trust" them, use their services in accordance with recommendations, and yet they fail. read more

I actually had a pretty good experience here. I needed to send some souvenirs, etc., home, so I came shortly after they opened. It was convenient- near my hotel and the Metro. And if you're in the mall already, score. The self-service area is open 24 hours; the main part is standard business hours. They had a decent selection of packing materials. Service was friendly and fast. The rate was reasonable. And the package arrived two days later (Priority.) Intact, undamaged. The post office has a lot of competition, but they are trying to keep up. This was a good enough experience that I would be back if I were in the area. read more

Dont bother getting insurance on you package. No one will talk to you about your claim. No one answers phones. One person actually hung up on me. You have to prove what you shipped. The value. How you paid for what you shipped. Receipts, pictures of what was shipped, the address label. I provided a receipt but it didnt indicate the form of payment so I was denied. The PO insisted they delivered the package but they couldnt prove it and the adressee never received the package. read more

I was told that someone was going to reach out to me about the matter but nope, didn't happen. Why would someone deliver a package that was obviously tampered with? Unless they did it. If anyone requires confirmation of just how ineffectual government is they need look no further than the incompetency and complacency of the United States Postal Service. I was sent a package containing perishable items. The Priority Mail package has been in the careless hands of the USPS for a full seven days. Over the previous four days there has been little information available as to the whereabouts of the package or its expected delivery date. The parcel reportedly made it from Maryland to my local USPS hub in Atlanta. I have received a late delivered notification each day for the past two days. There is still no indication from USPS about when the item will be delivered. Getting through to USPS customer disservice has been difficult. The malfunctioning automated phone support menu a nightmare. I managed to finally speak to a USPS agent. She generated a case number and instructed me to wait three business days before making an inquiry. I also spoke to someone from my local Post Office who could not provide me with any further information on whether the perishables were provided with special storage consideration, especially considering all of the delivery delays. As is standard operating procedure, the Post Office doesn't know whether to sh@t or wind up its Mickey Mouse wristwatch. read more

On 6/24/2024 I Mailed a letter to my mortgage company in Arizona, as PRIORITY mail to make sure its gets there quicker and safer. I was told at the branch post office that the letter would get there in TWO days, Wednesday 6/26/2024. Today, 7/1/2024, after a week, the letter still in transit and has not been delivered yet! I checked with sender post office; manager said the delivery date was NOT guaranteed! I told him this was NOT related to me otherwise, I would not have sent my letter using your service. BUT then he added: The reason for delay was that letter was sent VIA GROUND mail!!! I was shocked and outraged. Priority mail via ground! Even regular mail is via AIR. As a consequence, the check I was expecting won't be here in time and I am incurring a financial damage. I won't ever use U.S. postal service for urgent need. So, I ordered this rare plant from Canada on Etsy (US), paid for first class shipping, and I was super excited to get it. But guess what? It took more than a freaking month to arrive and when it finally did, it was totally dead! I sent 4 packages on Wednesday June 8 and 2 of them were fragile. The manager took care of me and saw that the most fragile boxes had more tape than the other two and he complained why did they have gorilla tape when that has nothing to do with the time to send a package. I told the person who attended me to secure those two boxes in which on each side it said "Fragile" and to secure them for me. He did not show me the price table, he only saw what the address said and I confirmed that those packages were going to the corresponding address. I told them MULTIPLE TIMES that they were insured and that those packages were going to arrive at their destination on Monday. I paid for the packages, I didn't look at the receipt since I had already seen the price (I'm not a US citizen, I'm just visiting and I needed to send those packages) so I thought everything was safe since it seems like a government service and from what I've read and heard from friends that they take it "Very seriously" about sending packages That it has a lot of security and a lot of misleading advertising involved I took a flight the same day that I sent my packages and when they arrived I saw that the 2 packages that were fragile were literally destroyed and the contents inside, even with clothes and bubble wrap, were broken and scratched. I am going to complain to the Post Office in the place where I needed to send those packages since I am visiting and I had the receipts to confirm that they were mine and the aforementioned insurance that I had supposedly bought. The person at the counter tells me that the place where I sent the packages did not charge my insurance and that my FRAGILE packages were not covered. I just lost 450 dollars in packages I have sent calls and emails and the only and absurd solution is to go to the place where I sent the packages. What kind of madman is going to take a 7-hour flight to complain about the destruction of his package and that not even those useless people have put insurance on the packages. In calls I had told about the situation and one of their representatives on the call hung up on me directly and another 2 more transferred me and made me wait 30-50 minutes to tell me that since I am not where I sent my packages they cannot do anything for me. I wasted my time, my patience and what I had in my packages, much less they will not return the money for all the broken items. The funniest thing about all this is that they tried to put more transparent tape on it to prevent the contents from coming out, but when I went to pick it up it was in a messy and horrible way to ''seal it'' a package that it was already seal it with gorila tape. Do not use this crap service, you save more problems than they give you. Arrogant people telling you what to do and what not to do and even so they ruin what you send. What a waste of time and money. Ordered a gift item online from New York for Christmas for my daughter on Dec 13th. Got notified that it was shipping out on the 14th from Watertown, NY. Tracking on USPS website shows it arrived in Rochester, NY on the 19th. I looked on Google Maps to see that it's 150 miles apart. So it took over 5 days for the package to go 150 miles. We live in California, so who knows how long it will be before it arrives. The tracking system is very unreliable. Sometimes it will say a package is delivered to our mailbox and we don't receive it till several days afterward. Same for the email daily notifications, sometimes I don't received that mail till days after the notification, and this is not just during the holiday season, it happens year round. We usually get our mail delivered between 6:30PM-? year round. What's up with that? read more

They haven't been able to deliver a package, any size package at all. Letters get delivered but packages, even a large envelope, get sent around the whole country before they get back to Kansas City. The reason I say before they get back is because my packages are sent to Kansas City then 7 or 8 other cities before they figure out it was already here a week ago but they just decided not to unload packages and they just get sent everywhere else. After the trip around the United States twice they get back here in KC and proceed to get lost in the warehouse for 7 to 10 days before they get delivered. Not just sometimes but every time. I don't understand why they are allowed to get away with it. If I just brushed off doing my job I'd be fired but apparently the USPS must give awards for the laziest city. I sent an old watch by registered priority mail to a repair shop in GA, from AZ, the postal tracking is fine until it goes out for delivery and then nothing except it is waiting for a delivery scan. Never happens, it's lost. I can't even call it stolen (which I think it is) because I don't have a police report. Who and how would that happen? I can not file a claim for insurance reimbursement because I don't have the 25 year old purchase receipt for the watch. All of the required proof of value cannot be obtained because I have no watch and no purchase receipt. I guess the moral of the story is "Use UPS" or "Fedex". When it disappears while out for dlivery, only one person could be the culprit. read more

I like to let everyone know that do not use international priority mail with USPS this is why. I mail international priority mail last August 17, 2022, for the Philippines It is supposed to be 6-10 days. I paid $40 . This was a very important document according to the post mail clerk, they don't have a problem with international priority. It is a lie, the fact is my package documents never arrived and now, I have to resend another one and advise everyone don't try to attempt to send it thru USPS you just end up losing your documents and wasting your money. I will never again with USPS International Priority Mail. I am going to use FedEx, one of my friends uses this service and it arrived on time. I posted international priority mail on 8/31/2020 at Marietta, GA post office. I was told that it will deliver on 9/7/2020. When I tracked on 9/6,it showed "Your item was processed through our MIAMI FL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER facility on September 3, 2020 at 11:12 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination." I kept checking every day and it did not change the status, I called USPS customer service on 9/8/2020 and told them that my package is not delivered. The agent gave me a ticket for international inquiry and told me that it will take 32 days inquiry to find where my package is. I was very disappointed. Now I am checking every day and status has not changed. Now it has been 13 days now. Now I realize that I should not use USPS for my international mail service. If I could give a zero star rating I would consider doing so. While 5%-10% of the employees have been conscientious and literate in their delivery; the other 90-95% need to learn how to read, and slow down to do so. No matter what your job, you should at least take pride in doing it, and do it well. We all need a paycheck, and we all have aspects of our jobs that are not the most pleasant, or enjoyable. I have lived in other areas whereby the service was consistently great, the mail delivery completed with a smile and correct. Where I am now is terrible. Mis delivery on a relatively consistent basis; and I am not alone. Then to deal with the issue is so much red tape that it's a nightmare. If I could just say to people "just do your job"......
