It's a great park, but if you're allergic to dogs, have trauma related to dogs, have little kids or…read moredogs who don't do well with other dogs, or want to get some exercise undisturbed, be prepared to deal with the many inconsiderate dog owners of the neighborhood who do not leash their dogs, use retractable leashes and effectively have no control over their dogs. The review from 2017 wasn't kidding. These dog owners see their dogs get increasingly agitated and still won't leash their dogs even after they give chase. Add to this the soccer moms and football dads with folded up chairs who block the pathway and its entry points and this park is truly not usable much of the time. People will stand, stationary, on the path and look right at you as you are walking, running, or biking, and not simply take one step so that you can get through. Better you roll an ankle than ask them to share. I've seen the fencing by the trees broken apart, bathroom stalls cracked, toilets made inoperable, even paper plates with food left directly on the paved path. It's a community park with no community feel. An alarming number of people are there for what they get from the park, and give nothing to maintaining it for all to enjoy. Considering how many arrive by car, it's likely many don't even live in the area, which isn't a problem in itself but they seem to forget that they are visitors and that other people wish to enjoy the park too. The migrant labor hired by the HOA (or city?) to keep the park as nice as it is must be invisible to them. If you go early enough in the morning, late enough in the evening, and can predict the sprinkler schedule, it's a good park with a gorgeous view, especially at sunrise and sunset. If you go on a sunny day, know that the playground recently had shades installed which is a nice addition, but there isn't much shade throughout the rest of the park, as it is a lot of open space. If you go pretty much any time between 8am-8pm, there's a likelihood you will encounter the problems I have brought up. 5/5 park 0/5 etiquette from visitors

We've been participating in Rosamond Little League games for many years now, and I have been very…read morepleased with the folks that run this. My yelp rating would definitely change depending on the year, but this last year was worthy of a 5-star rating. Here's a breakdown of this rating, which is primarily based on my experience with the "Ironbirds" team, which is just one team within the entire league: - Team volunteer dedication: 5 stars - Team volunteer enthusiasm: 5 stars - Team volunteer friendliness: 5 stars - Team volunteer safety: 5 stars - Team volunteer game knowledge: 5 stars - Team volunteer encouragement: 5 stars - Team parent friendliness: 5 stars - Other team parents: 4 stars - Overall league organization: 4 stars - League field maintenance: 2 stars - Overall value: 5 stars From the breakdown of this review one can quickly see how my rating could change from year to year since this overall rating is greatly dependent on the volunteers that are leading our team. This year we were really impressed with the volunteers that ran the "Ironbirds" team, which were about a half dozen folks. Our team consisted of young boys and girls, which are all around 5 to 7 years old. Our volunteers obviously had their hands full since organization of kids this age can easily turn into "herding cats." Despite the potential challenges, our team volunteers were really amazing. They always showed-up to team games and practices, exhibiting their enthusiasm and dedication toward meeting their commitments and leaving all the kids with a positive experience. They always showed friendliness and encouragement to all the young kids, guiding them on the best strategies for a successful and honest game with their teammates, along with fostering a good-sportsmanship mentality. The volunteers also continuously showed their attention to safety, making sure the kids did not get too rowdy or play inappropriately with the bats or other equipment, and they made sure that all the players drank plenty of water. If there was anything that really stands out as needing improvement it would be the fields. They are just OK, but they could really use far more attention. Now in all fairness, I understand that this is the desert and that the state of California has a water shortage, but a good portion of the grass at the fields here is dying, especially depending on the field that you are playing on. There is also a terrible problem with gophers, which should be controlled. This is a safety concern, primary since all of the holes and mounds could easily cause someone to twist their ankle. These are two things that need improvement, but their contribution to this overall rating is minimal compared to the high ratings elsewhere. In summary, our experience with the Rosamond Little League this year was worthy of a 5-star rating, primarily due to the positive experience from within one of the many teams of this league. Our experiences in previous years have varied, but have been mostly positive overall. If you have kids interested in little league, I highly encourage you to explore this league as an option.

We frequent new parks and I hate when I can't find any updated photos for them so that's how I started my instagram @thatabcsquad to share. And now I'd like to contribute to Yelp as well. I've had my eyes on this park for a while now but whenever I would put it into Google Maps, it would say it's under construction so I didn't wanna haul three kids to a park that 'may' be closed (we live 40 mins away) But a friend passed by and saw it was open so we had to go check it out! We loved every second of it!! - huge fully shaded playground!! Three sections, bigger, middle and smaller. - BIG slides for those who love them! - lots of climbing and crawling areas - plenty of grassy space - baseball fields - shaded picnic tables - clean bathrooms - water fountains - parking lot close by to playground If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend this park!! We were told there's also a little nature trail too! We gotta check that out next time.

Happy memories, all those kids are now grown and moved on to start their lives. This park was named after the founder of Tehachapi. It has the prettiest, tallest shade trees around. It has over 5 acres of grass, there is picnic tables, BBQ's, restrooms and a gazebo in the center of the park. You can rent the gazebo for $75.00 and a security deposit of $75.00. I have been to many parties in the park and the gazebo is really nice to set the food and gifts in. I personally know a couple people who were married in it. You can even rent out the full park for an event for $500 a day with a $1500 deposit. The playground is newly renovated and you always see happy kids running around. I have been here on multiple occasions and have seen kids in the late teens and young adults hanging out near the restrooms. They are definitely up to no good, We have seen small kids at the park themselves, I don't recommend that. This may be a small town but there is a drug problem and some of the people like to hang out here. So as long as the kids are supervised this is a nice place to spend some time. Many events are held here, Tehachapi Mountain festival, Tehachapi Old-timers Reunion, music in the park and also movies in the park. You can check with the Tehachapi Parks and Recreation for more information.
