the store at 430 pm was busy, the checkout staff were moving as slow as humanly possible. Over at the self-checkout, time stood still, as the dregs of Lubbock attempted to use machinery far away from their station. There are gaps on some shelves, and some national brands have disappeared. All the staff just looked and acted defeated. Many more checkouts lines were needed, and finally I just walked out, leaving my cart of items. Since the sale of this storied business, it's really dropped in quality and service. 2 more HEB stores will run united out of business in Lubbock. read more

Most of the employees working at this location are doing the right thing. Except for the meat department missed pricing of meat And poultry as well as pork. The pricing is all over the place you don't know what you're getting the print is too small to read. M when you and somebody in the meat department they give you attitude. Having worked for United in the past, and for 3 stores. These cashiers and baggers seem to be the worst. With their mundane attitudes, not being organized helping out one another, and they don't smile when thats the first thing we're taught. Placing soap with chips, non-organized and cold with non-cold. Went on my lunch today , looking forward to a Turkey Bacon Lettuce Tomato sandwich. So I thought I bought my son and I some yummy looking sandwiches . Only to get back to work and eat 1/4 of it and tasted something funny.... the bacon was raw .... yep raw . If I could give a minus 5, I would. I'LL admit, changing from United was hard. I have been disappointed with United for several years. However, they finally made it easy for me to change. They just wore me out trying to work through it with them. That being said, I have shopped at the same United for 16 years. Shortly after Albertson's bought them, we began noticing in EVERY trip, we brought something home that was already expired or about to be in a couple of days. And it was from all areas of the store. When we began noticing, we tossed many items. Then we tried checking dates while in the store, but that added time to our trips. Then we began making a second trip to return those items. They always replaced the items, but I shouldn't have to make an extra trip. We tried talking to the manager numerous times to no avail. Nothing changed. My husband went in the other day for milk and EVERY carton of 1% milk expired the NEXT day. He said something to a stocker and got a shrug, no response and he left. I'm done with United and glad I made the change to Walmart Neighborhood Market. read more

This place has the worst costumer service of any grocery store I have been in . Cashier was rude and I had to take out my own groceries the past tow times I was here . They can't remember to ask you for your number for there reward program that I have yet to be able to save any money on . They can't keep products on the shelves and are always changing the products that I like or just stop carrying them . I think it time to switch to Walmart . read more

I love this grocery store chain, and the 50th/Indiana is the best one, beats the one I go to in Dallas. I love how I can come home from work and zombie around the aisles until I find some ready-made greatness that I can bring home and eat right away (or eat at the store). Sandwiches, pasta bar, pizza, soups, salad bar, coffee shop, daily specials. I love it. I think I would love working there, too. United seems to have a great corporate culture by the vibe of the employees. I have had several students work there and say they enjoy it a great deal. I love this grocery store! read more

Everyone is always so friendly. It seems all the employees love their jobs. They go out of their way to be polite and tell you hello and they eagerly help you to your car and load your groceries. We just moved to Lubbock from Houston and I've never been to a better grocery store. read more

Out of all the business'es to work for i was ecstatic when i was hired at united, i couldnt wait to start. But: hmmmmm!! Not at all cut out to what they say!! Hired on part time at a new store, couple months later was told they needed a FULL TIME empl at another store but same department, and i would work 35-40 or more hours and receive benefits because i was full time!! Come holiday pay that i didnt receive, their excuse was their so called intelligent service manager forgot (for 3 months) yea forgot to make my status in the computer full time!! So i didnt get my pay that was due to me!! Bet she got hers though!! After she jumped down my throat and told me i had an attitude just because i asked if she had taken care of my status, not a sole repremanded her!! Instead the store director tells me ( in my eyes full time is earned not given)!! Where do they get these people? I worked there 4 mths the first 3 with no hot water to wash and sanitize my dishes, 3 months i complained until they finally got a plumber out to fix the hot water heater which pressure valve was broken had been broken folks for 3 years!! The person i replaced quit because of this & other issues! Pittiful!! And not even 9bucks an hour, and everyday they have to add something new!! The help they hired for me was no help at all never there!! So if you work for these people (who refuse to contact me still) BEWARE!@ read more
