I recently visited the store to purchase some coffee beans that I had been wanting to Try. I had never tried the store self ground coffee machine, but was very interested. When I entered the store I was greeted by the janitorial professional I believe her name was milka . Not only did she initiate conversation,she also showed me the coffee ground machine and explained the process as best to her ability. Sprouts is my new favorite grocery market in Lubbock because I can relax and enjoy shopping! Gradually, I've come to understand the subtle things that create that experience: the shelving is not 12' high, so the aisles don't feel like canyons ... the fresh produce is located at the heart of the store because Sprouts is obviously proud to offer the widest variety of fresh produce in town. Employees are fussing and stacking and curating stock - and when you ask a question they look you in the eye! The giant competitors in town are peddling extravagance, stacking trendy product to the ceiling, installing flashing lights and releasing "cute lil robots" in the aisles to replace employees. Sprouts in Lubbock retains a staff of experienced grocers, vitamin, deli and produce specialists. It's "Old School" shopping in the best sense of that term. read more

I just moved here and found Sprouts. I have been very pleased with everyone that has helped me. I've found each department very helpfu. Store is very clean. They have so many brands I need to shop healthy. The manager ( Charla I hope I spelled he name correctly) was so friendly and helpful. Sallye, in the supplements area was just so helpful. I really enjoy going to Sprouts Farmers Market. I know some may think it's expensive but I kid you not, sometimes they have great deals. Even better ones than H-E-B! I enjoy shopping around and looking for the better deal, especially with groceries now that everything is going up. The fruit selection can be great. I say that because at times the berries are not that great, a bit past their prime. They have a wine/beer area. All the workers I have ran into have been helpful and respectful. The store has been neat and clean anytime I have visited. They have a great selection of bulk foods, vitamins, natural body/hair care. If you haven't been by, I say go in and give it try and see if what you like is on sale or has a better price than other stores. Don't forget to bring your own bags or reusable ones. If I'm not mistaken, I think it's 10 cents per bag but they are not the flimsy kind, they hold up and you can use them again. read more

Ahhh, I'm so glad Lubbock at least has a Sprouts, what a relief it is. It's good to know that walking into a store that is clean and organized. On the plus side, the employees are the nicest you'll get from a grocery store. Anything and everything organic, natural, from the earth goodness that you can supply your body with. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or even a person that only eats fish and veggies; Sprouts carries meatless, soy based processed foods for the freezer. There are sales all the time. Eggplant: 98 cents. Giant heads of cauilflower: 88 cents. My new discovery of ginger lemonade, something so natural that gave me energy as most would drink coffee in the morning. Two kinds of dates, some with pits, others without. The store is located in a fairly upscale part of Lubbock, something I didn't think LBK had. That surprised me. This area of the city was very nice, with high quality stores, so parking wasn't an issue. read more

I shop here all the time and even though I dont agree with the mask mandate, they seem to be working hard to keep everyone safe. They seem to always be cleaning. Their pick up option, which I've used a lot, is great. I've only had one instance where my order was missing something but they were quick to fix it. Even though I don't want to wear a mask for personal reasons, I love shopping here and always feel very welcome. They even offered me a mask at the door, when I forgot mine in the car. The deli department seems to be short staffed? because I had to wait for almost 5 minutes before being helped, but the guy was really nice and helped me get meat sliced and offered other options to go with it. People told me this was like the Trader Joes or Whole Foods of Lubbock, Tx; I can sort of see that. More like Trader joes for sure. This is a pretty pricey place to shop, so that lines up. They do not have hot food service, or a buffet of any kind, so that's how it isn't like Whole Foods. They have a wide range of organic, non-GMO products, as well as a vast vitamin and live foods section. You can definitely find very unique, health minded foods here. This place is very inexpensive for fresh produce. At first I was skeptical of coming here with my sister as most grocery stores produce section runs you dry. For instance, Walmart is all about "Saving Money Living Better" but the produce such as fruits and vegetables are overpriced. I go to Sprouts and everything is budgetable. Once I came in, saw a whole bag of Cuties for $1.96, but I go to Walmart and see the same bag for $6.96, gotta look twice like.. huh. Yeah! I remembered I got some cilantro, one white onion, 4 Roma tomatoes, a head of lettuce, 2 avocados and 3 limes for just $3.55. I was astonished by the low prices especially being a student at an university it just doesn't come easy trying to eat healthy. Unlike Houston, Lubbock lacks a 99 cent only store where you can purchase produce for the low low. That's where Sprouts come in. Everyone is so friendly here too, yeah the milk and dairy section may not be frugal buying but you know it's all about eating clean nowadays. read more

I was looking for ginger in the area they keep it and couldnt find it, i spotted a sprouts rep standing a feet away from me so I asked him if they have ginger.He ignored me, didnt look in my direction and picked up the phone they have in the store. Although I agree with the reviews that state a lot of variety in organic and fresh foods, there are major pricing issues. About one in every three trips, I discover I am overcharged on supposed sales items. The cashier will usually fix the problem with no complaints. The other issue is with the price tags. Often they fall off the rail or in the matter of frozen bins, you have to lean over the bin to try and read the small print on the sale tag, or again, they are laying in the bin somewhere. Other times, items are simply not priced, and I have to find an employee who doesn't know the correct price and disappears for 10 minutes to find the correct price, yet doesn't follow up and put it on the display. This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Please redo your price tag policy and double-check that sale items will show up consistently at checkout. read more

As I begin my review, I am making my next shopping list. Not in a dutiful Mom or housewife sort of way but, a fascination and revisit of the multitude of goodness which lays under this roof!!!! Upon entry, it is impeccably clean, neat like OCD organized & makes me jealous & the smell of some beautifully seasoned roasted chicken is wafting through the store! Oh, I must rewind a brief moment and love on the parking situation... NEVER, do I deal with walking 2 miles to the store. Always there is plentiful close parking. These are the reasons why I heart this store & will continue to frequent. A. I am going rogue & saying the cuts of meat!!!! Not a thicker pork chop in town, the ribeyes are legit, thick, marbled & fresh & their innovative upgrades to the usual burger or chicken, well artichoke, Parmesan stuffed chicken breast breaded in tempura flakes... Come on.., B. The produce, they lay out a virtual candy store of every gorgeous fruit & veggie imaginable & offer up organic or not. C. Yes, I am grouping these two together as they belong in the same category.. Their wine & cheese selection is vast & they have unparalleled sales on these two necessities!!!! D. The service just freaking rocks at this store! Everyone you encounter asks how they may assist you with a winsome grin & I believe genuinely means it. If they do not have what you desire, they will inquire & do so happily. BUYER BEWARE!!! Every time I have been to Sprouts Farmers Market I have been OVERCHARGED at the register. The weekly ad prices do not match the price charged at the register nor the store specials marked on the shelves. I have to correct them on EVERYTHING they ring up at the register. Of course I'm busy taking everything out of my basket while they are swiftly ringing up my groceries, so I don't catch everything until I get home and look at my receipt. Oh, and be sure to take the weekly ad with you because when you correct them at the register, they argue with you and you have to find the item on the ad or walk them back to where the item is located and show them the price before proceeding. It has gotten so bad that I finally called the store manager. The next time I went nothing had changed. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! This is fraudulent and dishonest to advertise sale items and not honor them at the register. I just wonder how many don't pay attention and are grossly overcharged??? They are not the only market in town where I can shop for the same items they have available. And, they will not cheat me at the register on items I purchase that are advertised as "on sale"! read more

The last two times I have been in this store the lines were outrageous and all the employees seemed stressed out. Today the same thing. When I got home after waiting in a long line, I realized I was overcharged and went back to get my refund. I was instructed to wait in line again which was unacceptable. Normally a good place to shop for produce, but went in today for the ad special on pineapples and they didn't have a single one in stock. When I asked about it the produce guy just laughed and said that they were popular he guessed. He said they should get some in a couple of days, which of course is after the sale is over. When I was leaving I asked about rain checks at the counter for items they didn't have but were running sale ads for, but the young lady had no idea what I was talking about. No one seemed interested in helping and certainly did not care that Sprouts was running ads for items they didn't even have. Classic bait and switch. Would strongly recommend you call ahead for availability of sale items in their ads, because they don't seem to be able to honor the items they have on sale. read more

Wow. After moving to Lubbock from California (land of the nuts & fruits & all sorts of healthy foods), it was a pretty rough and miserable couple of weeks shopping at other grocery and health food stores and spending more money than the budget allowed... then I found Sprouts. Besides the fact that it felt like HEAVEN when I first walked in to find so many familiar-to-me, healthy and/or organic items and a great produce section, it just sweetened the deal that their prices were super competitive, compared with the other grocery stores I'd visited. In fact, by doing the bulk of my shopping on Wednesdays, which are Double-Ad days, I am able to get the previous week's sales AND the next week's sales, meaning I can buy more awesome products with extra money saved! A few random tidbits: * The yummy no-sugar, stevia/erythritol sweetened soda we drink (Zevia and Blue Sky Free) is available in many different flavors and has been frequently on sale - score! * The bulk foods section offers dried fruit, nuts, beans, grains and many different flours and sugars, whey protein powder, specialty candies and more! It's nice being able to purchase as little (or as much) of something as I need * All of the different varieties of marinated olives, peppers, etc. from the little olive kiosk (??) are great!! * Always lots of friendly staff around who say hello, check to make sure I don't need help finding anything, etc. which is a definite plus. * Haven't tried the deli/salad area of Sprouts yet, so can't comment on that, but the shopping experience is always good. :) All in all, I give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. Only reason why I can't give it 5 is because I feel their organic produce section is a little lacking, not just in bulk/variety, but also in quality. I realize that due to the fact that no pesticides are used, it's more difficult and more expensive to carry a an enormous variety of fresh organic produce all year round. Still, it's disappointing to be willing to shell out a little extra dough on the organic stuff, only to discover that ALL of your desired item is wilted, wrinkled/shriveled or overripe - who wants to buy that? Not me... Over all, though, this could just be the prissy side of me coming out, and really, not something that's going to deter me from shopping at Sprouts. :) read more

Great store -- I'm grateful that Lubbock has this store, since there is no Whole Foods in town. Typical lay-out as other Sprout stores. As a business traveler, I enjoy having choices when I shop for items such as snacks, waters, vitamins, etc. Speaking of snacks, they have a wonderful selection here of items. This place has a good selection of fresh organic produce and dairy. The store has a nice feel about it and is not as overwhelming as the nearby grocery chain stores. My dinner on a recent trip to Lubbock, eaten in a park: $4 chicken (lowered $3 because of being past the 4-hour freshness mark), 2 $3 pieces of cheese (a chipotle Cheddar and peppered Lacey Swiss), and a $7 Temperanillo... all washed down with a $0.60 bottle of Sprouts water. You may ask, "if you enjoy traveling and indulging my need for new experiences at obscure Tex-Mex eateries and the like, why resort to a chain natural food store?" I respond, after eating ice cream, tacos, and other assorted road food.... I needed a bit of clean food to fuel me. This Sprouts location, situated in the nicer parts of town, affords the locals and passer-bys with healthy food aplenty, compounded with cleanliness, affordability, and a good bit of convenience. read more

Lubbock needed a place like this - somewhere that sold gluten-free gummi bears without apology and didn't dangle a decent wine selection only to slap you with a ridiculous sticker price. A place that showed that embracing a snack not made by Frito-Lay did not also mean embracing free love and sandalwood. Will the prices keep it competitive here? They run regular specials on stuff you'll actually buy. Fresh fruits, grass-fed beef and a good selection of coffee that isn't Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. It's a great alternative to Market Street, especially if you're in South Lubbock. read more

I agree with the people that have written before. I'm glad Lubbock has a place like this...and the cashiers are very nice. We needed a place like this, but that being said, the place always is out of things. The staff is very rude. Blocking the way and rude if you ask where something is located. But I could ignore that if they weren't always out of things. How hard is it to have the English cucumbers? Every United can keep them, why not this place. I only bring up this one item, but at least 2 of the items I need are always out. Today was the first day I skipped them and just went ahead and went to United because yesterday it happened again. I really loved this place. I wasn't expecting it to be good when first opening because most places need a little time to get on their feet, but all was well at this great market style grocer. The first area that I noticed the most was the wine section. Although not Doc's, the selection is very vast and more affordable than one would expect. The vitamin section is one of the best I have seen in Lubbock aside from GNC, and what woman doesn't love a large selection of Burt's Bee's products? As another review said, they have a lot of foods that you wouldn't find at another grocer and there are some items that you could easily get elsewhere for less, but the difference in brands may persuade one to spend a little more. And who doesn't love all different types of bread, including foccacia, at $1.29? I will definitely be returning here and am so glad there is finally a place like this in Lubbock. read more

I have always wanted to try this store. I've heard great things about its produce (the selection, price, and freshness). It all turned out to be true!! I spent way less here getting a variety of fresh produce and some specialty items to help me trough my Whole30 than I did at United. The employees were friendly and helpful. If you are a United or Market Street frequenter then remember that many other places (Sprouts included) will have you bag your own groceries. Also it is worth mentioning that by using the paper or plastic bags available you will be in the minority here as most people seemed to bring reusable bags. Which I have and always forget to bring. Haha. I was happy with all the food and especially the produce. The only thing I found I liked better from United was a specific brand of green grapes that is not carried at Sprouts. Don't be fooled by the myth that healthy stores are more expensive! And also don't be fooled that Sprouts is only healthy. I definitely saw barrels of gummy bears in the bulk section! read more

I called specifically at least about 30 minutes before going to Sprouts. when I called up to ask if they had turmeric in power bulk size. etc 1 lb. the gentleman on the phone stated yes we do. I have to travel 15 miles to get to the store. I go in and I asked one of the employees where turmeric would be in powder form. I get there to where it is and I pick up the jar and it's completely empty. I asked one of the employees that were working in the Frozen food area. if she would be nice enough to check in the back or check with somebody if they have any more turmeric. she comes back and says sorry we do not have any my manager Jimmy will be coming up to you. I had to wait 15 minutes for this Jimmy. explain to the manager that I called ahead of time and his first response was who did you speak to. the person on the phone never addressed their name. then he has the audacity to tell me that's the problem you didn't find out the name. so I told him it is not my job to know what's in this store. it's also not my job to know whether or not the person is supposed to say their name when they answer the phone. so he cuts my conversation off and says if there's nothing we can do for you you can leave. I called the corporate office I'm hoping somebody that has enough customer service to handle this problem properly. I requested a regional manager with this type of store. one thing I do not like is wasting my time with people that are going to be nasty and have no idea what CS is! read more

Good store overall but very bad customer service, their check out is especially frustrating and rude. I was there on a busy day and they only had 3 people checking out with no one helping to bag. There were multiple employees just standing around, not seeming to be doing anything and yet the manager refused to accommodate the crowd and made the customers wait 10-15 minutes just to get the register. The employees checking people out are always stuck in first gear and seem indifferent to the long lines. If this was a one-off thing I would get it, sometimes businesses just have bad days, but this is a consistent pattern and I lay the blame directly on the store manager who can plainly see what's happening and yet chooses not to do anything about it. read more

I visited today and found the prices to be better than United and the food better than Walmart. They also carry foods I can't get elsewhere, such as multiple cuts of lamb and Deitz and Watson lunch meat. Yes the milk was $5.99 so I got it for half that at Walgreen's. But I also got eight green bell peppers for $2! I'll be adding them to my weekly shopping, and if United doesn't shape up they may fall off the list altogether. I was here yesterday actually perusing for a bohemian styled headband, HA! I was looking at the packaged gummies, nuts, & what-have-you. A Sprouts employee came up to me and told me about the Lemon Creme Almonds (I'm assuming they are white chocolate and lemon infused??) anyway, he said he personally packages each one of the products. However, when he packages the lemon creme almonds he said they smell absolutely amazing. He let me try one to make sure this was true. HELLO, OH MY GOSH, never had anything better. I don't know his name and I wish I got it, but he is an amazing sales person! Wow! He even pulled some gummy bears from the back that would be discounted for me. Prices are great here! Way better than whole foods! Great, fresh sushi on Wednesdays, which is a bonus! One thing that stops me from a 5 star review would have to be the interactions I have had with some of the staff. Now these are not bad/negative interactions. Just that, I feel if I ask questions about getting a new product in or questions on something I'm trying to find, I feel as though they are bothered by me asking them for help. I've been back about a dozen times and have gotten consistently poorer service. They are frequently out of sale items (even just a day or two after Wednesday, the day the flier comes out). When I asked a cashier about it, they said they only put out limited amounts, and noted that they themselves had purchased four of the sale items in question. Not exactly what you should tell an upset customer. They still haven't had good broccoli any time I have gone there, in the evenings the meat display is half empty, and the older man at the meat counter will ignore you, etc. I've given up on going there for anything but specialty items-- which you might not find here either! read more

This is as good as it gets for a natural/healthy foods grocery in Lubbock. The strength here is the prices and selection for fresh produce. There is a halfway decent selection of bulk foods, though not as good as Healthy Home Market in Charlotte, NC where we used to live. Also a good selection of fresh meats and cheeses. As with most stores of this type, the packaged groceries and frozen foods are overpriced so I don't bother much with them. Lubbock is fortunate to have this store. I would probably add a fifth star if they added two things: a self-service grinder for peanut butter; and a little sit-down area with a coffee/drink counter. read more
