I have volunteered here more than once. it is an organization that helps refugees by gathering…read moredonations and then distributing items to help people who have come to the valley from refugee camps from around the world. Many of the refugees have been in these camps for years, some upwards of over 20 years. They are able to get out of the camps via a sponsor. Most of them come here with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. TWTAP helps by distributing everything from furniture, clothing, linens, kitchen items, paper products, toys for children, anything that they can get donated. Volunteers gather at the warehouse to sort items contributed and also to deliver to the homes and then help set up and put away. The people, men, women, and children are always so grateful, sometimes with tears streaming down their faces. TWTAP will also pick up donations when scheduled.

Went and took a 3 hr volunteer training with the Multicultural Educational Coordinator, and it was a great experience, not only because I gained a more in depth understanding of what donating organs and tissues can do to persons and whole families, but because I got to listen to beautiful stories of life. Am planning to be able to spread the word and the love in the Hispanic community through my volunteering with this organization.
