One of there drivers towed a vehicle to my dads small business and the tow truck flat bed was covered in oils and when the car came off the flat bed it made a huge mess in front of our shop.so we decided to give united towing a call and the lady who answered the phone was very very rude and talking back and not letting me talk and then the owner called me and he was cussing me out. I would give zero stars if I could. I was upset about my busted car when they arrived (expected) and the person who came to tow my car had none of the information I relayed and so came unprepared. I told him I was unimpressed. He then claimed I had an "attitude" and refused to tow my car leaving me at the side of the road. I called his manager and said he needed to know that one of his staff was willing to leave a client in a compromising position after being promised service. He said I deserved to be left at the side of the road. I have never had worse service from any company of any kind ever in my life. Twice now we have had to have our car towed. Both times our insurance company dispatched United Towing. Both drivers were professional and friendly. They did their best to carefully load our car on to the truck and dropped it at the repair shop as we requested. I was surprised how quickly they arrived to pick up our car. They were there no more than 10 minutes after I finish requesting service on my USAA app. We assumed we could get a ride with the tow truck driver to the service station, but the driver politely confirmed they were not allowed to take passengers - only cars. No problem - I certainly understand each business has its rules. I would highly recommend the friendly professional services United Towing provides if you are in need of a tow. read more

They state that they are only open Monday - Friday on one of the yelp reviews but yet show open 24 hours for 7 days a week on Google and their yelp page. Yet, they charge you for a "weekend gate fee". Update your damn business hours if this isn't the case. They charged me more than $100 for a gate fee on Saturday. As soon as I got to work at 0800, I closed my car door and realized I had locked my keys inside my car. Driver was incredibly disrespectful from the min we said hello. Lacking serious communication skills. We were just doing as we were instructed and he wanted to argue everything we did. Obviously needing a tow is unexpected nor ideal but required when stranded in the middle of nowhere. We were instructed that the service would include a ride there and he immediately refused saying because I don't have too. Just overall a horrible experience to an already not so great day. I have had to have my vehicle moved by the folks at United two twice now, and will be calling them for the third tow :( which is unavoidable, I'm sad to say. However, on each occasion, these guys were super kind, with obvious expertise at doing their trade. Very polite, handled my vehicle nicely, all around really good guys. The driver who picked me up from the freeway (sorry, I forget his name) didn't even freak out about sharing his truck cab with me and my quite large German Shepherd! Guillermo from United Towing is the grand wizard of lock outs! AAA Roadside services three times were unable to unlock a rather complicated situation dealing with my car. You know the one where the key is left under the 80 pound scuba diving gear and the wire through the window door window will not work because the key is depressed by the weight of the bag! Truly! Guillermo comes from United Towing (following up on the AAA incapability (although they tried hard too) prepared and boasts that in 30 years he has always been able to unlock any car. Guillermo "MacGyver" deftly moved the large and heavy bag over then popped open the lock. Do you remember restaurant machines where there is a mechanical grasping mechanism picking up a stuffed toy? The Monterey Farmers Market started setting up at 3PM. I did not know this as I am from out of town and arrived back at 3:05 only to find United with my car already up on the tow truck. They explained that there was nothing they could do and charged me an absurd $215 just for raising the car onto the truck and immediately taking it back down. I called to explain what had happened and was told there was 'nothing they could do'. Really disappointing to see a business taking advantage of tourists. read more

Needing a tow truck is usually not a fun thing. Yesterday I was driving along and my car just wouldn't go. United responded quickly, I wish I had asked for the drivers name because he went above and beyond...we thought we fixed the issue and I got back on the road only to have the same issue (bad alternator). Once again this super nice driver came again to my rescue and towed my car to a repair shop. I called United to get an estimate on time (because the shop had closed but the owner was waiting just for us) and United was so patient, and attentive to my questions, found the answers...I just felt very well cared for in their hands! My keys got locked in the trunk of my rental car. Turns out this model of Camry doesn't have a trunk button that works without the key in the ignition, and the back seats don't come down all the way!Brian Lindquist worked so hard to get to the latch of the trunk through layers of suitcases to get the trunk open. WORST TOWING COMPANY IN THE WORLD. 1. We have towing covered under our insurance and called it in at around 5:30 to request for a tow. They state that the tow truck should be here within an hour. Result: waited till 7pm to call, got no answer from the tow truck driver but our insurance stated it should be another 20 minutes. 8pm comes along and the tow truck is STILL NOT HERE nor have they communicated us on any delays. So we call and get no answer and let our insurance company know. FINALLY, the tow truck driver calls at 9pm when we're just leaving saying that he's sorry and that the day has been crazy and he will be there in 15 minutes. We turn around, and come back and wait and he's there maybe about 9:25pm. Thing is, I don't care how busy this company is. Work is busy for everyone. This tow truck company should treat every customer as if they are the only one. I am not here to listen to this guy vent about how busy and crazy his work day has been. I'm here to make sure this idiot is doing his job right by towing my car at the given estimated time instead of making us wait over THREE HOURS! 2. We let our insurance company know that the oil from our car leaked and that we would not only need a tow but for the oil to be cleaned . Result: truck driver, mike, was well unprepared and didn't have the right materials to clean the oil up. So we had to go to the store to buy sand and bring it back for him to clean. 3. The coverage for towing is only 15 miles. The location I wanted my car towed was 3 miles over and after all the inconvenience they have brought to my evening, they still insisted that I would pay these additional chargers which was $40+. 4. This idiot truck driver, Mike, even tried to half ass his job by dropping off my car crooked. I had to literally say "are you going to just leave it parked like that? Is your company willing to pay for a ticket if I get one?" Then he moved it but didn't seem top happy about it. All in all, we wouldn't have been as upset with this company if they would have just followed up with us on when our car would be picked up. We were stranded for 3 hours, already dark outside, cold, and hungry. If this company would have just been honest and said that they can't get the car towed for 2-3 hours then at least we could've prepared for it. I suggest NOBODY to use the "service" that this company provides. read more

I knew in advance that I would need to ride with the tow truck driver all the way from Monterey to Salinas. So in my head I am thinking okay this is going to be sketchy. I am going to ride with some random, big and burly, filthy, chain smoker. But when Guillermo arrived all of my fears dissipated. He was not what I expected at all. He was professional and clean. He even tried to see what was wrong with my engine and was able to drive it through a narrow drive way and safely load my car on to his truck. The inside of his truck was cleaned and organized. He also gave me a ride from Salinas back to Marina. Now that is what I call service! I would give him a 10 out 5 stars! read more
