Woke up with a flat tire on the day we were to leave our campsite and called AAA. Jesse our tow driver showed up and saved the day. He was top notch and helped us patch the tire to get us back on the road. He opted to check our tire if it could be patched rather than use the spare. I had to call Carmel Towing twice in two hours for a battery that needed charging. It's more difficult to go through the AAA call center but it's important that a Carmel Towing gets credit for the call. Our technician arrived within 10 minutes of my car the first time When I called the second time I was told Lorenzo had just driven out to Carmel Valley so we waited. Had lunch. I called Lorenzo and he was at our car within 10 minutes. These guys are great I highly recommend. read more

I can't even believe how bad the service I just received over the phone was. I have used them many, many times over the years as my go to home town towing service. Rude, hostile, irritated at me for simpling asking questions nicely. Refused me service and just kept repeating over and over call back some other time with no further answers or discussion aloud. Amazing customer service! I was in need of a tow (obviously) and our insurance company's roadside service had "no idea when we can get to you". The 2 other local companies declined to service our address (yes a windy/narrowish but not impossible road in Carmel Valley). One was actually kind enough to then refer me to Carmel Towing. I called and spoke with Andy. Before I explained anything I told him our address and mentioned no one has been willing to come to that location. Immediately he said, "That's no problem at all." And then he was able to get someone to our house within 45 minutes! (Which means they left their location asap.) I didn't get my driver's name but he was polite, kind, and we had a great chat en-route to the service department. Beware of price gouging. I had Carmel Valley Towing help me with a lockout, and even though I was only 15 minutes from their shop, they charged me $300 to unlock my vehicle. It was a non-emergency, but since I was out of cell phone range, I had to have the police call it in. When I spoke to the owner, he stated that the call wasn't expedited but that they simply charge that much when the police make the call. He readily charged me 3x the regular rate although it did not cause any inconvenience to his business. Customer service was lacking and there was no attempt to understand the human side of the situation. If you're in a pinch, call a different company. read more

This company hires people who are not considerate of people with disabilities. An employee from this company illegally parked in a handicapped loading zone and blocked a handicapped parking spot. When asked to move, he rudely replied "i'll bloody move it in a minute". He stayed parked there for around 20 minutes. During that time the spot could not be used by people who needed it. The Trader Joe's parking lot in Monterey is very busy and only has two designated spaces for handicapped drivers. Customer service by this company needs to be reconsidered. read more

Josh came from Carmel in the dark to find my vehicle which was at Glen Oaks in Big Sur. Triple A didn't pass on the tricky direction# to find us at the cabin but Josh called to see if I had been picked up yet. I hadn't so I walked up to Highway 1 and flashed my phone so he could see which dark driveway to turn on. He was not able to jump start it so off it went to Carmel Garage. On Father's Day 2019 my wife and I were on a motorcycle ride returning from Morro Bay to Morgan Hill, CA. After eating lunch in Big Sur, CA our motorcycle wouldn't start and a tow was needed. AAA was called and Carmel Towing was dispatched by them to assist us. The tow truck arrived within about an hour and our tow driver (Arlan Galeano) was excellent. He took us from Big Sur all the way to Morgan Hill late on a Sunday afternoon. Although it was definitely not fun needing a tow, having Carmel Towing come to the rescue was as pleasant as the situation could be expected under the circumstances. We have used them for towing services on a few occasions and they are always on time, always professional and friendly, and they are problem solvers. Had a dead battery and called Carmel Towing. Mark, their battery specialist came out to my house to jump the car and was unsuccessful. Said the car needed to be towed in to shop and had another call he had to go to. Carmel Towing sent out a tow truck to haul in to the Chevy dealership. The dealership immediately hooked a jump start kit up to the truck and started the vehicle the first time! Total cost $70 for the unsuccessful jump and $95 for the tow. I called Carmel Towing dispatch and informed them of the situation and they said the battery specialist must have not had their equipment fully charged and would let him know...."sorry." No offer to make it right by reimbursing the unnecessary tow expense. No to mention, I had spent my whole day and on something that should have been easily fixed in the first place. No confidence, but they are only resourse in town. Called for assistance , ran out of gas on side of road in Carmel, not on HWY 1( where road assist patrols). AAA sent Carmel Towing , who responded quickly. He told me they could not put gas into my car due to design of the gas cap- stated they could only tow the car to their gas station to fill. Advised me carmel has a lot of hills and people run out of gas often while visiting. Representatives from carmel towing called over for other associate to bring another tow truck to bring my car to his gas station and he left pretty qickly. I called AAA to verify, who said they never heard of this situation. I called dealer (so there was plenty of time on road side) Dealer explained adapter is needed since my car has specific type of gas cap-adaptor is located w spare tire or tow operator carries since this is common....I called carmel towing my self and found associate on his was to my location. I explained the situation, he said he was on his way. I discussed the situation, and waste of time carmel towing created for us both by insisting my car needed to be towed when it didn't.
