I always have a very hard time finding someone to hire for a job. I was given Kerry's name from another top rated tile guy, he said that Kerry was the only one he trusted to do things right. I am beyond happy that I made this phone call. Kerry answered the phone, he showed up when he said he would. Then he was professional, knowledgeable, personable, and artistic. Turns out, this guy is a true artist with over 20 years of experience doing tile work, some of which has been in magazines. I hired him the same day to work on my bathroom in Leicester NC that had a water leak. He actually stays busy fixing failed/leaking showers from other "craftsman". He was exceptionally easy to work with. Very positive presence to have in my home. My dog & cat loved him. I felt I could fully trust him with artistic design details, as he truly cares about his work, and expects his finished product to be a work of art. He knocked it out of the park in my shower and bathroom floor. This thing might go in a magazine one day but too. After the job was done, he cleaned up after himself without asking, which is always an issue people. He protected my hardwood floors while working. He didn't damage anything. He treated my home like it was his. Moral of the story, this a good human right here! He is an artist that cares about his work and will always do the right thing. Kerry previously updated our horrible hall bathroom that was outdated and worn. As we got to know Kerry we discovered we all had a mutual fascination with mosaic tile as we had all fallen in love with mosaics in Spain.  Kerry brought over a mosaic design that he had on hand to show us an example.  We bought it on the spot, and had him install it in our master bathroom.  It is absolutely beautiful. (see previous review from 12/18/18). As we had mutually agreed after he finished our hall bathroom, when the time came to update our Master Bathroom we called Kerry. We had such a positive experience with him previously that we never considered anyone else. After discussing what we look we wanted and how we wanted the bathroom to feel, Kerry recommended travertine tile in the shower and tub surround, with a stone floor in the shower. Kerry knows exactly the look he wants, so he hand selected each tile form the tile vendor so that they would all flow together without any out of place hues that would look out of place. He also had a custom mosaic border made for our shower that features the Lauburu (Basque Cross). I sketched what I wanted and we worked with Kerry's contact in Turkey who provided renderings of what he was designing. After we agreed on a design, the border was delivered in about 2 weeks. Kerry expertly installed everything and used extra pieces from the shower border to customize the tub surround, the shower wall niche, and a plant shelf in the shower (Kerry's idea...he knows my wife is a gardener). Working with Kerry was a uniquely positive experience. We are sorry to see him move from Austin but we know that he will continue to spread positive energy and unity wherever he goes. Was remodeling my kitchen, and as much as I wanted to do the tiling of the kitchen backsplash myself, I already had too much on my plate. After texting Kerry and getting a quote for the backsplash installation (which included the adhesive, sealant, and grouting), he was able to come out the next day and work Sunday and Monday to complete the marble backsplash. We met him on Saturday and he stated he had a last minute cancellation for that Monday, we were not in a bind as he stated. He said he has placed this tile before. We were getting estimates. He had 2 other jobs going on at same time. Within the first couple hours, before we arrived, he had already laid down tile and that was the tile that he messed up design. A 2 day job turned into a 5 day job but he blames us for his mistake and will not take responsibility for his poor work. He asked us to give him reviews and we did but upon a closer look, just a day after he finished, we notice that the tile design is not lined up correctly in dining room and bathroom. It was his idea to place tile also in sunroom. $$$$. We contact him by phone and he stated in text that he knew that he did not follow the design but didn't tell us and then blames the tile, us, his lack of focus, his dog which he brought to jobsite, our daughter. On one side of the floor it now slopes due to him damaging the subfloor. He threatens us with lawyers and we state but the sunroom design tile was layed correctly so you can't blame the tile design or the manufacturer or us. Blame yourself. Will update after court. Are you insured and licensed, if so please send us your insurance information. You can find a better tile person who stands besides his work..he told us that he is a stand up guy and will fix any problems, not so. We now have texts of him stating his error and of him blaming and attacking our character and our family. read more
