Good prices and good service... Universal Liquor is a little more than your average convenience mart is a legit wine and spirit shop as well. On the corner of Cahuenga and Lankershim just south of the 101 Fwy, this small big spot houses some quality select wine, craft beer and spirits as well as familiar grab and go's. Stopped in for a fair priced Red... Some Layer Cake Malbec I'm enjoying at the moment. They aren't particularly strict with health and safety procedures, but do provide sanitizer if nothing else (no mask requirements of any kind of distancing in place). Okay spot for essentials as well as that bottle or canof something you're craving, wanting or needing to enjoy whether a local or visiting the area. No complaints in terms of service or selection. Very friendly and pretty stocked up. Parking is what it is, but very manageable. Very close to the Universal Metro Redline Station and public transit as well.

Love how this spot is conveniently located off the 101 freeway. Stopped in on a very hot day to grab a beverage and a snack. This place had so many premium drink options and love that they carry "Fever Tree" ginger beer and other soda options. They also have some hard to find seasonal beers like my favorite lemon shandy. Great place to stop by if you don't want to show up empty handed to that dinner party. They had lots of premium beer and wine options. Shoutout to Helen and Angel for holding it down and for being super friendly and knowledgeable as well as supplying the spot with lots of great options.

If you are into gourmet foods/grocery...you'll love this place. Came here for brunch today and left…read morewith a bag full if goodies...with ice of course because of the caviar = ) They carry Siberian, Russian, Kazachstan Sturgeon caviar at very reasonable prices. Aside from caviar, they have a good selection of smoked fish and all sorts of gourmet butters, spreads and condiments. A great way to sample some of their offerings is to dine there as they have a n extensive menu filled with creative dishes using mamy of the ingredients they sell at the store. I'll definitely be back!

The store is clean, bright, and organized, and the woman who helped us was very sweet and even let us try a couple varieties before we made our decision. We ultimately went with the Siberian Sturgeon, which ran about 65 dollars before tax. It was just as she described: buttery, salty, not too strong of a fishy taste. Such a treat with crème fraiche, chives, and potato chips. I also bought a gorgeous spoon for $5! I would say to buy your accoutrements elsewhere (trader joe's is a hop, skip, and jump away) because things are slightly marked up. But for those specialty ingredients (the caviar), I think the prices are fair? This is the part where you take this review with a grain of salt. Apparently, costco sells the same size of caviar once in a while for like 53 dollars--so I dunno, seems fair to me.
