This place is a joke you see a different dr every time you go in there so I always feel like I'm explaining myself over and over again like ground hog day., this last one I saw was so old she couldn't get nothing right then she's getting upset I'm like wow is this for real right now your suppose to be a professional what happen to your bed side manner, I feel all dr need to be retested in this manner cause there falling short. Have come here 3 times, and every time I show up early. I stand at the counter with 3-5 people at the desk. No one bothers to look up or acknowledge your presence. When they finally do they check you in and tell you to sit down. The wait varies between 20-30 minutes! The waiting room is usually packed. I'm being seen for my back and after the wait they call you back the doc sees you for about 5 minutes. He tells me to run and workout with light weights and then says see you in 6 weeks. No matter what your pain level it's the same routine. This place is ridiculous I could get better care off of WebMD. If I didn't HAVE to come here I wouldn't and I don't recommend it to anyone. Why would you schedule and appointment at 815 if you don't show up till 830 and don't start calling people back till 900! Don't come here!!! read more

I made an appointment with this place 3 weeks ago and yesterday a week before my appt. I get a call from them saying the doctor will be assisting on some procedure but they could squeeze me in on Sept. 11th. You never get to make a first impression twice. Told the lady on the phone I would be seeking help only not from them. I think the place in Lancaster may be better anyway. My time, my money and my pain. read more

Incredibly poor pain management clinic. The physicians are biased and opinionated. They don't treat their patients like the human beings that they are. People come in there suffering and needing help. Not to be judged or treated like drug users. Management won't help, they laugh when you file a complaint and hang-up on you. Don't go here! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Kohan in the Palmdale office for several years he is a wonderful Doctor and the staff is always efficient and highly professional. It's been a very mixed bag with this place. The front office initially was a nightmare. Sometimes it feels like they ignore patients while they talk amongst themselves and sometimes they're attentive. I have an HMO so I was referred here. My first appointment was with Trudy who was kind and mentioned all kind of things they could do to treat my pain which is chronic, excruciating and debilitating. She mentioned getting me a TENS unit, CT scan, PT, etc.. She made me feel hopeful. I told her I'd had epidurals and trigger point injections that did provide relief. I told her that since my last MRI (done at a difference facility 9 months prior) I had become unable to walk w/out pain and that I had developed horrible pain in my left shoulder blade and numbness/pain in my left arm. Unfortunately, after my appointment No TENS unit request was ever put through, no requests for trigger point or epidural injections were submitted, no diagnostic tests were ordered to determine the cause of my pain. Not sure why ... might not have been her call. From one extreme to another: the glowing reviews about Dr. Kohan with a lot of extra details that most people wouldn't know or mention in a review seem fake and are the OPPOSITE of my experience with him. After months of being their patient without them having done anything at all to relieve/treat my pain, I showed up in tears at their office and spoke with Pam, the office manager. She was nice and understanding and got me an appointment with Dr. Kohan. I thought this would mean that things would finally click with this office and I would actually get some relief. It was clear within a minute of Dr. Kevin Kohan being in the exam room with me that I was still on my own. He was informed of my situation and of how bad my pain was but instead of being apologetic (just because it's the professional thing to do) and/or caring he was actually kind of arrogant and dismissive. He didn't even bother talking to me at the surgical center a few weeks later when he did some facet blocks on my neck. I can't remember the number of blocks and epidurals I've had over the last 15 years but I know for a fact that EVERY time I had something done, my doctors ALWAYS talked to me before each procedure. It's what doctors are supposed to do. It's their job. I had questions about the procedure but he couldn't be bothered to show up, and they were done at Oasis Surgery Center which is literally a 30 second walk from his office so he has no excuse for not being there nor did he ever offer an explanation. I never saw him before or after. Even the surgical center said it was unheard of for a doctor to not see their patient beforehand. He gets a ZERO in my book. If that sounds to you like he's not condescending or patronizing and that he cares about his patients, your expectations of doctors are dangerously low. Because it had already been so many months trying to get them to actually manage my pain and getting referred to a new pain management center would take more time than I could handle, I asked around and heard good things about Dr. D'amours who's also at Universal. I asked for my second set of blocks to be done by him instead of Dr. Kohan. He, of course,came to my bed and talked to me before the procedure. He seems very knowledgeable and focused. That being said, my first appointment with him only lasted 5 minutes because the front desk didn't check me in until 15 minutes after I'd signed in ... so I was sitting in the waiting room when I could have been talking with him and getting the right meds and the right plan together. He's doing radiofrequency ablation on my neck next week. We'll see what happens. ... I saw Candice Behm PA-C and she was amazing. She spent more time with me in one visit than Emmanuel Emenike did in 6yrs. I am excited to take a more holistic approach in dealing with my conditions. As a 100 percent disabled veteran, I was referred to this place by Tri-west VA, who handles our insurance. I saw them one time, and the a-holes sent me a bill. The Veterans Administration pays 100 percent. This woman in the billing department (Joanna) had absolutely no clue, and blamed it on someone else that just had gone home. First, I went over this whole thing with them when I first saw them. If they tried to give me a bill or request a copayment before hand, I would have gone home. So, this place seems to want to get money, but doesn't know how to call my insurance company, so they bill me. Here again is their phone number again Universal. 855 722 2838. I also requested that they never refer this company again. If they treat a Vet this way, then there are other people that know how to call insurance companies, that don't bother us. You put the "P" in pain, but took out the "M" in management. Get it together. read more

I love Trudy and Debbie in P.T. they were awesome. My only complaint is the reception who may be overwhelmed or undertrained. The blonde up front is the only one who actually holds it down and is awesome at her job. The other girls were contstantly on their cell phones, rude or would completely ignore me. I am no longer a patient here sadly and have wanted to write a review for some time. The girls up front need an attitude check and general customer service training. read more

Impossible to get appointments might start looking for a new place, they forget to schedule you for after procedure and then expect you to remember under anesthesia to book the appointment, they have given me appointments a couple times and then somehow I don't show on their system, if life gets on the way and you're late you have to reschedule and next appointment most likely will be in over a month, there's this medical assistant that takes your pressure with a horrible attitude the others get the job done not very friendly but ok read more

He never makes you feel ridiculous no matter how strange my complaints are, he is an excellent communicator who listens respectfully and gently guides me through different treatment options. This place really helped me to manage my back pain. I would have given them a five except for the young ladies up front. If you don't mind not being acknowledged that you have been standing there for minutes then they would be okey. As far as appointment making goes, I have twice been put aside because I am assuming There was a good looking young man waiting also, although I had been there first. However the important part is they are managing my pain so I can put up with a little rudeness. I have been going for a few years now and seen by several of the Physicians and PAs....
