Last October, Universal Sealcoating did our driveway. At the time of service, both my husband and I were not happy with the quality of the work and we asked for one of the workers to come out to "fine tune" the work done. There were whole patches of the driveway that were not covered with asphalt and chunks of asphalt were missing which was problematic because that was not the case prior to the work done. A workman did come out the next day and made attempts to correct the above stated problems. After the Winter months, it was apparent that those problems were only exacerbated and the driveway looked terrible.
I called Johnny, the owner of Universal Sealcoating and asked if he would come out and look at the driveway and we could talk about what could be done to resolve the problems. Johnny became very curt and started to yell at me and told me that driveways should not be asphalted because asphalt can never be done correctly. He also told me I was stupid to have our driveway asphalted in October. Obviously, if it was not a good time of the year to do this type of work, why did he sign contracts. He said, I can't do 500 driveways in the Summer, so I do driveways at anytime I can. In addition to talking to me in a raised voice, he hung up on me. To say that his conversation was unprofessional,rude and condescending is an underwhelming statement.
I get that small business owners have challenges with their employees and with customers. I would hope that he would want to resolve any discontent we as a customer would have.
So, if you want to work with a subpar company and a rude owner-this is your man. read more
