Great customer service, super friendly staff, they really seem to know their stuff - would recommend to everyone

My washing machine came back worse than when they got it. That was several years ago but still no response from them. Never again.

Two different technicians from Universal Services GUESSED what might be wrong with our refrigerator. As one was attempting to repair our fridge, the technician told me that the reason Sears went out of business is that they repaired unrepairable appliances. $400 later that is exactly what Universal Services did to me. Called them out for service to a washing machine on December 31. After being told they were "on their way" I waited another hour for them to appear. When they appeared, they dismantled the washing machine, asked to borrow our towels to clean up a mess, and said they had fixed the problem and I paid the bill , which was over $150.00. TWO MINUTES after starting the machine, it did not work. I called them back and they said they would order a part, which would be in Wednesday ( because Tuesday was a holiday) Took off time on Wed. to be told the part wouldn't be in, but would definitely be in on Thursday. Scheduled to take time off on Thursday but they called around 11:00am to say it wouldn't be in Thursday, and they could not promise it would be in Friday. After that I looked for another appliance repair, which I STRONGLY suggest you do in the beginning. read more

We had an cooling issue with our ten year old refrigerator. I called Mike Winkler, the owner, who scheduled one of his technicians for a service/repair call at a time that was convenient for us. The morning of the agreed schedule, US called to reconfirm time and advise technician was enroute. The technician called enroute that he was ten minutes from arrival. The technician was knowledgeable in assessing the problem, and efficiently repaired to our satisfaction on 01SEP20. The cost for the service repair was reasonable. David & Sharon Vincent read more

These clowns just repaired our ice maker. They had it 4 months. The unit is only 2 years old and looked new when they picked it up. As they removed it for service they knocked a chunk out of two door frames. When it was returned, the ice maker was FILTHY, inside and out. Our original reason for calling them was to have the ice maker section cleaned. It wasn't. When the tech tried to hook it up he discovered that the water feed hose and adapter were missing, so he accused us of tampering with the plumbing. After several phone calls to his boss, he left to get the necessary parts. He returned with a 10' hose where a 6' would have been plenty. Instead of putting the excess drain hose behind the ice maker, he wadded it up in the cabinet with the extra 4' of filler hose. The cabinet now looks like a snake den. I do not recommend Universal Services and will be writing to the ice maker to share my opinion. I wish I could leave No Stars as a rating. We have called and asked them to tidy up the installation, I will edit this post when they are finished. read more

Last year 2014, an AC technician from this company came out and didn't seem trained and overlooked some obvious things like the wrong (rated) capacitor installed (it was also carelessly connected with some electric tape too!) for my 4 ton unit that's about 5 years old. How and why this guy overlooked this obvious and NOTICEABLE crappy connected, wrong size capacitor, still bothers me to this day. If he missed that, then what else did he miss or not diagnose correctly. Unfortunately for me, this company was servicing the unit for the person selling the house to me in 2014, so I thought it would be serviced properly. Needless to say, I'm very unhappy with this AC tech's performance and also how the owner treated my situation...I guess since I was the buyer of the house and NOT their customer (my seller). So I've learned my lesson, and a hard less at that! My lesson to you is, before buying a house, I HIGHLY recommend that you, the buyer, contact your own AC company (by law you can do this) so you don't get stuck with a crappy AC tech/AC company!! and an AC unit that you didn't know the history on!!!!! read more
