This place is so awesome! My boyfriend and I had toured the campus because of his interest in the school, and this place has everything! If you're thinking about going to the school, just go. Completely lied from the beginning, was told the apartments near the school are expensive and I was better off using their student housing yet their rent for a shared room is about $700-$800 and private is about $1100 through CHS. The worst, had to move twice in between courses, charged for items that had nothing to do with me. The school gives you material that is either outdated or has nothing to do with your future career(engineering stuff). The system they use(blackboard) is mediocre. Doctors notes are approved based on what they feel like. Was made to sign into their updated program claiming I didn't have a choice and was extended another 3 weeks. This school is atrocious, a few of the instructors have questionable professionalism, if you have a grievance they don't listen nor follow through on talking about it. Doesn't matter what you got going on, they do not care. UTI is overpriced, you're better off taking classes at a community college. They lie off the get go. read more

Uti was genuinely so bad to go to as a welding student When you're signing up they talk such a big game about how you are gonna be out in the lab instead of the classroom No you aren't. It was just powerpoints and quizzes for the first 3 weeks before we did anything and then we started oxy cutting It was cool but it shouldn't take us a month and a half to start actually welding Oh and you better not fail those tests because they are literally the only thing that matters. Yep you better make sure you know who invented this type of welding or this type or else you gotta retake the course alllll over again. The only enjoyable part was mr miller cause he was cool and funny and a genuinely good teacher and thats it The other instructors were alright aswell as far as i could see But thats about it Just go to a community college They teach more for cheaper And this one (at least when i was there) didn't even teach pipe welding Went to a community college and from the second day in class all it was was hands on welding in every position you can think of Not this school read more

They get students to take massive federally subsidized student loans for an education that doesn't even provide enough training to start hands-on at an oil change spot. I was a student at NTI in 2004-2005. It is a scam. I'm still paying off my student loans. The instructors want you to fail so that you have to "rephase" and pay more money. Oh, and after all of Inwas so poorly trained that I still wasn't qualified to work at any dealerships without more training and internships. I got out of the automobile industry after 2 years I'm a registered nurse now. I had a passion for cars at the time. This place ruined that for me. Do not allow your kids to go to this "school". This place is a joke. We sent our son there because he was told that they are hands on everyday... BULL they didn't go hands on for at least 3 weeks and then it was still minimum. The instructors are jerks and will give infractions on EVERYTHING... They were all nice as could be until they started getting their money. Then they became complete jerks, very hateful and unprofessional. I do not recommend this "school" at all. Oh, and they do what they can to make sure the student fails so they can pay an extra $1400 for the course again. We told the school that our son will no longer be enrolled and they said there is a $100 withdrawal fee. SUCH A JOKE. Get a job at a dealership and you can get FREE schooling and you will definitely have hands on experience. read more

From my experience of going get the education yourself and go to a dealership if you want to do that and get their free training same as nascar work your way up go apply to as many teams as you can. I personally will only say the schools location itself go me where I am now but not the school. Beats me if you want to go to a school that tells you if you didn't watch your online videos you wont be able to know how to work on things when you go to the LAB/Shop. The teacher can't use his years of experience to show the class how to do it. I didn't go to a school to watch how to do things online and over 100 videos and quizzes in most classes. It gets ridiculous. Fells like you go to school sit in class for 3 hours go home try and learn how to do it from poor quality videos online, its crazy, then coming to school the next day and taking a quiz based off of what you watched online. Its madness its all a money scheme, the money you pay for what you get is crazy. By the way the school itself has such a bad reputation some jobs in the Nascar and dealership world won't even hire you. Everyone knows about NTI in town but not for good reasons. read more

If you think about this school be sure to check out the housing before you enroll. They make you sign a lease before you are given the key to your apartment so be very careful. We had this experience and the results were not good. The apartment was less than desirable and when we went back to the school to let them know we were told my grandson would be moved on Monday.. this was Friday afternoon after an exhausting drive to NC. We stayed at a hotel until Monday at which time the housing director or whatever her title may be did not even remember that he was supposed to be moved which led to another nights stay in the hotel. Long story short, my grandson decided not to attend the school and now we cannot get a refund on the apartment which is $830.00 plus the $210.00 application fee so we are out over $1,000 plus the stay at the hotel. Cannot speak for the school as to what you will learn but be sure you understand everything before signing of paying. Now we cannot even get them to answer a text, which by the way is the only means of correspondence for housing. Beware!! Don't sign before they let you see your apartment. The school refunded our money when my grandson decided not to attend and now are billing us for $379.00 "not covered by Financial Aid/and or sources of funding". As I stated he decided not to attend and was refunded what we paid. How can there be financial aid when he is not even a student????? Beware!! read more

I am a veteran trying to get skills that I can use in the real world work force. I am also attending this university during covid-19 pandemic so take that into consideration. I have noticed that the range of education that you get at this school could be much much MUCH better. Most of all of the material we learn from is online, and we are forced to come to class to do "Labs". Apparently that is the time we are encouraged to ask questions about things we do not understand. It is highly frustrating to see an instructor who is getting paid to teach...do absolutely NOTHING during class time. The only thing they do is play on their phones...that's it ...no lesson plan no teaching material...play on their phones and answer one or two questions. They also have a very good habit of passing people who do not deserve to be allowed to progress in the course. I have noticed two individuals in my course who have failed multiple classes and they continue to let these people into the next course. All they do is go to student services and complain about something...give a sob story and they are allowed to make up assignments that they didn't do, or out right failed. The school has an atrition rate that they have to maintain in order to keep getting government money so they simply let these people continue to keep taking classes no matter how poorly they perform. It is a borderline case of fraud if you ask me. However, it is the only place where I have been able to get any type of experience on manual milling machines as well as CNC machines. Some one in the government scholarship program needs to investigate this place. read more

The student housing is a joke! Most "staff" do not care about the students and can't resolve any issues ! Ridiculous !
