The thrift store with rude owner
    STEPHANIE D.

I had never been to this store before. The man running the shop was very abrasive with his vibe, he told me not to bring my dog again. I informed him it's a service dog and he said he didn't care don't bring it again. I paid for the things I bought but honestly considered just not. He said weren't you here before with this dog. I've never been to this place before. I live 200 miles from here and I'll never come back. The anger he projected at me about my 4lb dog it's disgusting. I can't stand people who hate animals.

Of the owners marking up my book

Went with a friend yesterday I've shopped here on and off for abt 15 years It always amazes me the greeting certain individuals received If you are black good luck with a simple hello Anyway my friend and I went upstairs it was a book day for us After an hour and a half of sorting through books i selected 5 the prices were 49c and 99c I always stick to a budget since this store only accepts cash (IRS) ... Went to check out I notice my price at check was higher than my calculations I paid my friend paid we went home Upon review of my purchase I notice the "Owner " increased one of my books from 99 c to $2.00 Is this legal ? it is certainly not fair How greedy and dishonest the owner is

The outside of the WORST THRIFT STORE EVER

Ridiculously HIGH, if not OVERPRICED items, not orderly, yucky in fact. When I was checking out, guy up front (not wearing a mask) immediately snatched (yes SNATCHED) a dish I picked up and said "that is wrong price, you cannot buy it!" He saw me googling the dish and assumed it was worth much more than he had it marked. It wasn't all that great anyway. I will NEVER go back to that store again!

A small portion of their many books.

A pretty cool thrift store. They are so many clothes of all kinds. From casual wear to formal wear to costumes. Everything is very organized and it makes it easy to search for treasure. The store has two floors and upstairs there are so many books. I was impressed at how immense it is, but the prices were somewhat steep for a thrift store and they also charge tax. I think I'd come back here again if I was in search for something specific that I cannot find easily anywhere.

A few of the items seemed priced high, but I saw many that were lower than Goodwill prices.

The store is pretty organized as well, just wish they had dressing rooms but if you're a Veteran at thrifting, you know to wear tights and shirt so you can try the clothes on over your clothes. Music is always a hit there, too and I think its because of the sales people there. Maybe they go to CSUN (insert thinking emoji, lol). One thing that kind of annoys me though is how they place the price tags on their clothes, they staple them on. It hasn't damaged any of the items I bought but its quite tasking taking them off and most of their store is priced decently. Check them out if you're a thrifter, you wont be disappointed.

There was a lot o parking in the front, which I always appreciate. The lot is shared with a mechanic and a dispensary, I believe. Wide selection of men's and women's clothing, organized by color in some cases. The prices here also could not be beat - I've been to many thrift shops where things are priced at what you would think you would see at a Ross or TJ Maxx. Here, prices seemed more than fair - I could see shirts for as low as $3.99! I ended up getting a cardigan from LOFT for only $5.99 and my sister got a mug for only $2.99. The service was okay, the woman at the checkout counter wasn't overtly friendly, but it was fine. Not a super wide collection of books but I did see a number of DVDs and various household items (dishware, mugs, other random household items). We will definitely be back!

As we entered Savers, we were quickly greeted by the staff. The store was a nice sized one and very clean! Everything was very organized! They have clothing, household items, books, purses, bags, jewelry, shoes, and more. It all depends on the donations. The prices seem very steep to me. I guess I've never thrifted in Los Angeles before?!?! They are open seven days a week from 10 am to 8 pm. You can join their club and get points towards a discount. 100 points equals 1 reward. Each reward is a 20 percent off your next purchase. You'll have to read the fine prints. If you're 55 plus, shopping on Tuesdays is a perk! They say you can get 30 percent off. ( EXCLUDES new merchandise with the red tags on them ). I would ask the clerks about this before shopping and ask about their "restrictions may apply" policy! Overall, it was a nice tour of the store. Know your prices vs shopping secondhand prices. Employees were very helpful and friendly. Ample parking!

I didn't find much, but I'll be back for sure with more donations. That was our initial purpose. I know this is a "for profit" second hand store, but Goodwill is wild with their limited hours and no longer accepting donations at this time response when I call. Also, Savers gives you a 25% off purchase coupon, Goodwill has gone down to 10%. If I were to put them in order of where I'd go thrifting, it would still be Goodwill, then Savers, then Salvation Army. Also, on Yelp & Google it still has holiday hours - this place is open for business as well as accepting donations daily from 10am-8pm.

The prices are CRAZY high for a thrift store. I understand they operate trucks and a brick and mortar building but for them to be charging nearly retail prices for used clothes and items they got AT NO COST is just insane. Parking is usually packed and you may end up parking on the streets of the local neighborhood. However if you have donations I'd drop them off at the door THEN find parking. There are often 3-5 tag colors for sale. However most of the items you select will conveniently be a label color off sale. The workers must have paper cuts from as often as they change the tag colors. Come expecting to spend at least an hour if you're on the hunt for something specific. They often have a good variety of purses and shoes. I mainly purchase small home decor items, workout clothes and furniture. I found a gigantic lightweight canvas in the art section that I just love. And I'm constantly checking the vinyl section for gems, all of which are typically $3 or less each. Take a second to view the jewelry counter, you may find some nice earrings behind the glass or costume jewelry hanging up. All the "good stuff" is located behind the counter. That includes items like video game consoles, "luxury" bags, sealed items, cameras and lenses, smaller electronics, instruments, etc. Apparently they're open on Sundays now which is new and still pretty calm since I don't think many people know about it. A lot of the workers are mainly Spanish speaking so do not be offended if they don't answer you right away, they will quickly locate someone bilingual to help. If you can take your time you'll find some good stuff, however with the rising prices the deals are better some days than others. I would give them 3 stars but the prices lately are just brutal.

The store has a very welcoming atmosphere, very open feeling, not at all claustrophobic like some stores can be. Love the background music too, especially the jazz - keeps me in my happy place while treasure hunting. We love the Retail Therapy sessions held on the first Friday of every month, not only is there wine, cheese and crackers and sweets and treats, but the entire store is discounted 15% - that's always a welcome bonus. Who didn't love a discount?! My most favorite type of therapy. We've enjoyed getting to know the owners and some of the dealers who happen to be there when we are, they're helpful and informative. And on the QT, sometimes they authorize discounts - if they can - on the items in their booths, especially when you buy multiple items. I saw on their Instagram that the next Retail Therapy session will be a Christmas Party - we'll be there with bells on and bringing our shopping list! Highly recommended to others. And while you're there, there's a number of antique stores there on Sherman Way - they're gradually working to revitalize the Historic Antique Row in Canoga Park. 2 new stores have been born out of the dealers in Main Street Vintage - check out Artfully Made (Sherman Way, all handmade items) and Vintage Home (Owensmouth, just opened 11/2/25), plus the owners also have Retro Relics 2 doors away from Main Street Vintage - another great selection there! Hope you have as much fun as we do. And visit the Real Juicery on Remmet for great juices, smoothies and bowls (more great owners!). Plus, 2 coffee shops opened this year on Sherman Way, Trio and Jessie's Grind (latter has the most fabulous doors!!) Support our local businesses . I found a beautiful 14k gold cross necklace with real diamonds that was displayed for $300, along with a 20% off sign in booth 10. I asked the owner what the price would be with the discount. Instead of honoring the displayed price, she weighed the necklace, realized it was 14k gold with diamonds, and told me she would only sell it to me for $700. She also said she could instead buy it for what it was listed and sell it for even more. (Great.. didn't need to know that.) As a customer, it was frustrating to be quoted one price on display and then be told a much higher price after asking to purchase the item. It felt misleading and left me with a very negative experience. Because of this experience, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this store. I believe customers should be able to rely on the prices displayed and be treated with honesty and respect toward hardworking people who love to support small businesses.
