Unfortunately, the customer service is what brought my rating down. The prices are already on the expensive side, and I was genuinely surprised by how inflexible the staff was. I simply asked if they could exchange two dimes and a nickel for a quarter so I could use one of the machines. The employee told me she "wasn't supposed to do that." It was such a small request that would have cost the business nothing, yet it was handled as if I were asking for something unreasonable. Little acts of customer service go a long way, especially in a business where customers are already paying premium prices. While the clean facility and amenities are appreciated, the lack of basic courtesy left a disappointing impression. I hope management considers giving employees a little more flexibility to help customers with simple requests like this.

This coin laundry is very close to USF, on the east side of the plaza where you'll also find Sonic Drive-In, Winn-Dixie, and the liquor store with the weird mannequin on top of a van. If you've been near Bearss and Bruce B. Downs, you'll know the plaza I mean. Inside you'll find a wide variety of laundry machines, from the humble single-load machine to Big Bertha ($7.50), the behemoth of laundry. We brought two heavy hampers full of laundry and still didn't have enough to fill it (it holds 75 lbs), so we used two of the 30-lb ($3.00) machines instead. Next time we'll bring all our thickest comforters just so we can use Big Bertha. The dryers are 25 cents for 6 minutes, and they're big enough that we were able to dry our stuff in half an hour using two dryers (so that's $2.50). Inevitably, the coin pocket of blue jeans, the collar of polo shirts, and other problem areas will need another spin; that's actually better than overdrying everything else, since you can do one final spin while you're folding everything else. Amenities include three video games, one vending machine filled with Coke products so cold they'll hurt your throat, and one vending machine with snacks reasonably priced. Bonus: since there's a Sonic, a Winn-Dixie, and a liquor store on the same block, and a pizza shop and a sub shop across the street, you have pretty much anything you'd need. Given all this, you'd think I'd award five stars. You'd think that because you haven't been spoiled by a laundromat two hours north in Gainesville where they serve draft beer and have a big-screen projection TV. But I strongly suspect this is the best coin laundry in Tampa.

I live alone and my laundry had become very backed up. Unfortunately, I fell and required an ambulance/hospitalization. Prior to coming home, my sister dropped off my laundry at Pacoa's - finding it conveniently located in Publix Shopping Center, and it was 72 lbs (several items were wet)! When I was discharged from the hospital we were able to pick it up on the way home! I have never been so pleasantly surprised at the pride these folks take in their work! The clothes weren't simply hung at shoulders or folded and put over hanger; these were meticulously placed so the clothing would remain wrinkle-free and unstretched! The hangers were covered by the light blue drycleaning protective bags. I don't ever take that care with my clothes! The folding was so precise and uniform, I didn't want to take it out. No kidding, when you are disabled and have many, many needs - you notice details like this. And -- it is AFFORDABLE!! I'm so impressed with the efforts and product these folks provide that I want to tell them to charge more as they are definitely worth it! I'm trying pickup/delivery today and honestly, I expect them to be eagerly smiling when they knock on the door! Pacoa is a Treasure in Tampa Bay!
