I am no longer a patient. The following review is why i changed medical providers........ Attention new patients: when they say you will not be able to see any other doctor than the one you are originally assigned to, they mean NO matter what. This policy is fine, but they don't even cover each other for vacations or other absences! I understand not allowing patients to just see other doctors as a matter of convenience but i am having trouble walking!! My pain is terrible..... I was instructed to go to the ER, which we all know is NOT the answer because I am not dying. That is what an ER is for. Broken, bleeding or dying. An Orthopedic office is for non emergency issues, like this. Here's what happened...... I've been on the cancellation list for a few weeks. I call on occasion to find out if there's been one, just in case. I always ask if it's okay to call back. The staff is super pleasant. But when they told me this morning that my doc is out of town for the next week+, I asked for an exception because I am in genuine and growing pain. I cannot sleep. Which means I'm fatigued. I have multiple sclerosis and that's a life changer for me. I was even OK with continuing to call next week hoping to get a cancellation but knowing that I have no choice but to live like this for the next week+ because of a "rule" is really upsetting. So yes I believe the policy means more to these people than patient care. I'll be changing my orthopedist which is a bummer because I really like Dr Gonsalvez. His first injections worked well. Thing is, my issue came back with a vengeance and in his absence he has no back up. I think I'd rather go to an office where the doctors work together as a team. read more

Dr Hardy is/was nice to me. Her nurse practitioner was horrid. He did a number of passive aggressive things to me that I first thought were mistakes. Did not get walker until 5 hours before surgery. Did not send script in for anti biotic for teeth cleaning after surgery. He said how was he to know I was to my teeth cleaned. I had to gag down 4 anti biotic horse pills while laying back in dentist chair. When I asked him for different pain pills he ordered 8(eight) pills one every six hours for 7 days. He said he'd send this script to Costco but after 8 hours found out he sent it to Walgreens. The reason he these things was because I cursed. He said I used profanity. When my knee was killing me I spoke colorfully about the pain. Never directed at anyone!!!! He also said I should have called the office about only getting 8 pills which I did not do because I was embarrassed to be in pain. read more

Dr. Michael Miller did my total knee replacement and did an excellent job! I can do stairs! I felt better immediately (The surgery pain was easier to deal with than prior knee pain). I've already scheduled my other knee! Physical therapy is a must, or faithful exercising. read more

I ,Just had my right hip replaced by Dr. Miller at the Surgical Center at the end of June. Eight years ago, I had my left hip replaced by Dr. Benjamin who I thought was awesome. Dr. Miller and the team at the Surgical Center made the entire experience so comfortable and easy. I believe Dr. Miller walks on water, he is so compassionate and kind. He truly makes you feel comfortable and cared for as well as the entire staff. A great team of professionals I couldn't be happier with my results. read more

Dr Smith was wonderful. I had a problem related to anesthesia and he stepped in to ensure it got resolved. His staff was also excellent.

Dr Mike Miller is the best Orthopedic surgeon I've ever been to, and unfortunately, I've been to a few. He did a left knee revision from a botched surgery from another Ortho. Also replaced my Right Knee. This man not only deeply cares for the well being of his patients, but he's also​ a phenomenal surgeon. I recently had a fall and had a problem with a possible ruptured ligament. He was nothing short of wonderful. It's not easy to find the very best in Tucson, but he's it! read more

I visited their old Campbell office when my son suffered a football injury. The doctor (Benjamin?) hardly seemed interested in patient care. He appeared to be busy attempting to impress a group of medical students that were there (I think they were students). The kindest adjectives I can use to describe him are; condescending, pretentious, pompous and supercilious! I made the mistake of asking how long recovery would take. He never answered the question. He only made a rude remark about me trying to live vicariously through my son. I was absolutely dumbfounded. I've never been insulted like that before by someone I was paying for a service. It was a valid question and the answer was important to my son as well as me. I have had injuries that required orthopedic surgery myself and do remember wanting to know about the recovery then too. To be fair, I do admit to thoroughly enjoying my son's activities in school and this happened quite some time ago. Maybe the Dr has become kinder and considerate of others since then but you know what they say about spots on a leopard. read more

When I was 17 I had a major knee surgery that left my knee bone on bone. I have had problems with that knee all the rest of my life, I started going to get cortisone shots 4 times a year with DR. Benjamin. The shots were not working and my knee had to be drained and swelled up all the time(not fun). I went through the excruciating pain of having my knee replaced, basically chopping off both ends of the bone driving a spike into my lower femur and a steel joint in the bottom of my thigh bone, looks really cool on film unfortunately I do not have a picture. Now it is a year later and my knee not being perfect it works great. Thanks to Dr. B, Kimen, and the ever so helpful Jenny and the rest of the crew. i would not suggest going out a screwing up your knee to see these guys, but if you do they are the best. read more

Dr. Miller was great!! He was kind, patient, and spoke to me as if I was a capable and intelligent person. His partner, Dr. Nesbit, on the other hand, was cold, cruel, and treated me like I was an imbicil that didn't understand my own condition (birth defects). I was excited to see him because he had done shoulder surgery on my husband and treated him really well. After Dr. Nesbit's appalling behavior my husband nor I will ever return to his office. We will also tell our friends and family to stay far away from him and his clinic. read more

Dr. Valencia has a great bedside manner! He treated my daughter for her broken humerus, and helped her feel comfortable and cared for throughout our visits with him. He helped her understand her physical therapy exercises and encouraged her to continue parts of her normal routine to help heal her arm. He was wonderful and if we have any other broken body parts, he is the one we will bring her back to. read more

Dr Nesbit is a very good doctor. I trust him very much. The negative side about going to see him is having to go through his staff. Their attitudes are extremely poor. They are just not in the business of providing high quality patient service like Dr. Nesbit is. However he is such a good doctor that it is worth going through this much hasle. read more

Do not go to these people. If something goes wrong, they leave you in pain, don't return phone calls, etc. I'm now facing knee surgery due to a shot being administered incorrectly. Wish I had never gone there. read more

I had a rotator cuff repair surgery by Dr. Jon Nisbet two weeks ago. Technically, I thought he did an excellent job on the surgery. My first office visit which was 6-days post-surgery, I went in expecting to have support and guidance to aid my healing process. That was not the case. I was caught off guard by his arrogance and insensitive attitude. His authoritative "my way is the only way demeanor" was scolding, made me feel like a child, and brought me to tears. Needless to say, I was feeling dependent and vulnerable so soon after surgery. This is something I have never experienced with any other doctor in my 62 years. I have switched doctors for aftercare to someone who has both exceptional surgical and people skills, is compassionate and kind. If I can help just one person from walking into the office of a bully, this review will be worth it. Just be forewarned. read more

Dr. Nesbit, one of the principles in this practice, repaired my torn ACL. He is amazing. Easy surgery, easy recovery, good follow up. He also treats a lot of the NCAA athletes at the UofA -- good word of mouth. I'd recommend him highly! read more

My Dr. there is Dr. Miller. He is a great surgeon. Had my surgery at UMC and they were too many inept people working there. Hind sight being 20/20 I wish that I had my surgery at Oro Valley. I am looking foreword to having less pain and more mobility with my new knee that Dr. Miller installed!!! read more

Dr. Jolene Hardy did not do a complete examination of my AC separation (shoulder separation), nor did she educate me on my options to help me gain function and decrease pain. When I called University Orthopedic Specialists to reschedule with another orthopedic surgeon who would give me a more thorough examination and listen to me when I spoke, the office denied me services. April 31, 2019. I had an accident that caused an AC separation. I was referred to Dr. Jolene Hardy at University Orthopedic Specialists. May 4, 2019. I went to Dr. Hardy and she had a resident examine me while Dr. Hardy did no further workup to determine my condition other than refer to an x-ray of my left shoulder taken at the emergency room. From another orthopedic surgeon I later learned that in order to diagnose the extremity of the injury, an x-ray had to be taken of both shoulders so the normal shoulder could be compared to the injured shoulder. Based off the resident's examination and the x-ray of just one shoulder, Dr. Hardy told me I was not a candidate for surgery. She then sent me home and told me to rest for 6 weeks. She did NOT explain my options to help my recovery. She did NOT explain anything about what would happen in a surgery. She did NOT tell me anything about why I was NOT candidate. She did NOT explain to me what had happened to my shoulder. Dr. Hardy was NOT taking notes during the session. June 20, 2019. I went back to Dr. Hardy because I was still having pain. Once again Dr. Hardy was NOT taking notes at the session. When I went into the office, I told her I was having pain when I crossed my arm over my body as well as when I put any weight on my shoulder. Her first response was that she would not do surgery just to get rid of a bump on my shoulder. Her quick response had nothing to with the fact that I came in looking for a solution to the pain and limited movement of my shoulder. I had not even asked for surgery when she told me she would not do surgery for cosmetic purposes. The disconnect between what I was saying and Dr. Hardy's responses continued for the rest of the session which made me feel Dr. Hardy was not listening to what I was saying so she therefore could not come up with a correct diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Hardy did NOT talk to me about why I was still having the pain. She did NOT talk to me about my options on how to address the pain. She did NOT educate me on what surgery would do for my shoulder. At the end of the short session when I kept trying to explain to her that I was still in pain, she told me she would give me a cortisone shot and I accepted. A week later, I was still in pain. June 26, 2019 at 4:41 pm. I called University Orthopedic Specialists to schedule an appointment with another orthopedic surgeon who would listen to me and guide me through what was happening to my body and guide me through my options for treatment. After the receptionist put me on hold for several minutes, she came back on the phone and told me I could not schedule an appointment to have my shoulder reevaluated. Tucson Orthopedic Specialists denied me service. I was on the phone for 12 minutes throughout this phone session. read more

Dr. Miller did a hip replacement on me around April 2011 and he did a total knee replacement on me in November 2016. Dr. Miller is kind, patient, and caring. I had one surgery at University Medical Center and the other one at Oro Valley Hospital and no matter who I talked to there at both locations, the people had nothing but excellent things to say about Dr. Miller. That included other doctors, physical therapists, and nurses. So I surmised that Dr. Miller was not only nice to me as a patient, but also treated everyone he meets with respect and dignity. I like that! My two surgeries were extremely successful and I recovered quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Miller. You will not be disappointed.
