After having already obtained an estimate on a project, I decided to take it to this shop which is closer to my home. What a mistake. I was ready to drop off my small project, but when I asked the man (he conducts all 0f the business) the price quoted was almost double!! Forget it! Unbelievable! I dropped off two pairs os Christian Louboutin shoes to be resoled and some the heel taken on one pair. I was a little skeptical when I first dropped off the shoes, but all reviews seemed to indicate this shop has been around for a very long time and that is great. Well, I have to wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. The shop looks just like the ones back home on Chile, nothing much to look at. Tiny, stuff all over, most of the front area is occupied by the alterations counter, machine, orders etc. don't let that be a deterrent. I dropped off my shoes on a Saturday and I was told to pick them up on Wednesday, which I did, and they were ready on time. What amazing job they did. My shoes look so beautiful, you can't even tell they are resoled! I mainly brought them here because this place had such great reviews on both Yelp and Google and also because it is a short 10 minute drive from my house. I also called three different places and University shoe repair are very reasonably priced. These guys are very honest and they do beautiful work, so don't be afraid to bring your luxury goods here! I have quite a collection of luxury designer shoes and now I know where to bring them. This shop earned a loyal customer in me. read more

Out of state for my daughter's wedding, I had a pair of shoes that desperately needed a shine. With no recommendations available from my hotel, I looked on Yelp and found University Shoe Repair. Listed as being open at 9 AM, they were open five minutes before hand... A good sign. The gentleman behind the counter stopped what he was doing and took my shoes in for the shine, saying they would be done within 10 minutes. They were actually done within five, and looked fantastic. Really amazing business! Came here because of the Yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. I had a pair of wedges that completely separated from the heel, and a pair of louboutin boots that needed a new red bottom. After getting them back(they were perfect), I brought 3 more louboutins in. They made the red soles placement ideal (so you can't see it standing) and the color is nearly identical and shiny to the true red of the shoe. I highly highly recommend coming here. I have been a customer of this shoe repair store for over fifteen years. It has always been family owned and a small location, but what they lack in space, they truly make up in quality of work, pricing and excellence in customer relations. Gary and David are a dynamic duo who have pumped new blood, if you will; and the seamstresses are a great asset as well. It's amazing to have the reassurance that when you absolutely love a pair of shoes, a handbag, belt or something in your wardrobe, instead of getting rid of it, you can have it repaired or readjusted at a minimal cost. I don't know why it's taken me so long to review them, but our recent experience was over-the-top! Mami had a pair of shoes that she really uses often, but for some unknown, inexplicable reason (which she insists her foot-- only her right one mind you-- has lost weight) does not fit her any longer. Because she lives several miles away and doesn't drive alone much anymore, she sent the shoe with me to get adjusted. Gary looked at it, and being that it had to be cut, he said he needed her there for sizing, as he didn't want to risk the shoe being cut too much and her not being able to wear it again. I thought that was really wise and so we went back the following Saturday. It was a little busy toward the end of business day, but Gary took care of us in his very professional and patient manner. He sized the shoe, had her parade around, cut it, glued it back together; but not before he first brought out a pair of inner sole pads to see if raising her foot just a tad would make the difference prior to cutting. It did not, but the fact that Gary makes alternative attempts at resolution was proof enough of his genuine customer care for us and so our entire family will not patronize any other shoe repair/alterations place, but will unequivocally promote this small business establishment that stands tall above the rest! read more

This place has been around forever. I moved to Tamarac in 1999 and I started going around the early 2000s. An elderly couple owned the place- she ran the front and he fixed the shoes. I always brought in heels that needed repair and they were always fairly priced and MUCH cheaper than replacing the shoe! I had a favorite pair of heels that recently needed repair and although I no longer live in the area brought them to my long-time, trusted shoe repair place. The place looks exactly the same but the elderly woman was gone but the woman in the front was nice and told me my heels would be ready the following day. The prices have gone up a little bit but that's to be expected after 18+ years and again still more cost effective than buying a new pair. P.s. Have used this repair place twice for belt repair and shoe scuff and polish. Did the job while we waited, and it was great. Had them also put anti slip soles on a pair of my sandals, that was not so great. The soles are not as good as the ones I have had done in New York. Really like this place for some repairs but not all. read more

Didn't know they only took cash, so when they asked for 50% down, I didn't have enough. They accepted whatever I had. Then, when I came back, the scatterbrain I am, still didn't have enough.
