Ask the Community - University Village Dentistry

So you guys offer payment plans for some who has no insurance or has delta dental ppo?

Good News we are contracted providers with Delta Dental PPO. This means that your out of pocket cost will be greatly reduced if you choose us as your provider. We also accept Care Credit that offers payment options. Thank You

Do you guys take IEHP? What are your coverage?

I am sorry, but we do not. I believe that IEHP is a HMO and you are assigned a contracted provider. To help save time, I recommend you contact IEHP directly to get your providers information. Good Luck!!

Dr Hao was great, she took care of my root canal (which was soo painful ) in no time made sure to get antibotics to help treat it.

I came here last year because of their amazing reviews but I wouldn't trust this office too much…read more They were charging me close to 2k for dental work I didn't even need! Biggest red flag was when the doctor said he couldn't see on the x-ray if I had a cavity underneath my crown so he wanted to take off my perfectly good crown and disinfect the tooth. He said after 5 years a crown should be getting redone which isn't true at all. They were charging me 1,322 just for this procedure. Next, they were trying to convince me to get my bottom wisdom teeth removed. They said because it was creating a space which was collecting too much bacteria. They never asked if my wisdom teeth were bothering me, which they don't, and they were not even impacted. Very convenient for them that they were referring me to their sister office (smile builder) for the evaluation and extraction. Another high price procedure in addition to the 2k. Finally, they told me I had two small cavities and already scheduled me to get the fillings. That was 135. I told a family member who works in a dental office about all these procedures and she told me that was not normal and to get a second opinion. I went to a different dental office and the only procedure they agreed I needed was a deep clean. The crown was not even infected, it was just gum swelling and tartar buildup on a different tooth. The cavities and all my other dental issues would improve just with a deep clean and regular maintenance.

A Very Disappointing Experience After More Than 20 Years of Loyalty…read more I have been coming to this dental office for well over 20 years, and throughout that time, I brought all six of my children here as well. The reason I stayed loyal for so many years was because of my love and trust for Dr. Daisy. She always made me feel comfortable and cared for, and I truly valued the relationship I had with her and the office. When Dr. Daisy began transitioning into retirement, we started seeing her son. Unfortunately, my ex-husband and I were not impressed with our first experiences and even considered going elsewhere. However, because of my loyalty to Dr. Daisy and the office, I decided to give it another try. A few years ago, I had two chipped teeth. Dr. Daisy placed what she explained was a temporary covering on them. She was very upfront that it was temporary and told me that if it ever came off, they could redo it. It lasted for years, so I was grateful. Eventually, one came off. When I went to her son, I mentioned it, and his response was essentially, "Next time, we'll see how it goes." I hesitated, but again, I stayed loyal. About a year later, I finally made an appointment specifically to have my chipped teeth addressed, along with my cleaning. During the appointment, my teeth were cleaned, and he told me to come back and see him later. I said, "What about my teeth?" He responded, "What about them?" I explained that Dr. Daisy had previously put something over the chipped area and that I wanted to have it repaired again. I was told, "You're older now. Your teeth shift." I honestly didn't understand what that had to do with addressing the chipped tooth, especially since I was simply asking for an evaluation and repair. I explained that the chipped tooth really bothers me because my tongue constantly hits the area. His response was sarcastic, asking, "What do you want me to do, smooth it out or something?" At that point, I said, "Well, anything at this point." He did smooth it out, but unfortunately, it looked and felt essentially the same to me. Even more disappointing, my second chipped tooth wasn't even examined. I waited several days before writing this review because I didn't want to write it while I was upset. What hurts the most isn't just the dental work -- it's how I was spoken to and treated after more than two decades of loyalty. I have never walked out of that office feeling upset or disrespected until this appointment. After all these years, six children, and so much loyalty to Dr. Daisy and this practice, I never expected to leave feeling this way. At the end, they asked if I wanted to schedule my next cleaning. "Ummmm... no. No, thank you." That was honestly the hardest part for me -- realizing that after more than 20 years, I no longer felt comfortable returning.

I was blown away by the amount of communication and education, but also the compassion and care of the team. Dr. Akkari prioritized my tooth and preserving it longterm over a quick or pricier fix. Thankful for this place.

I just had 2 small cavities taken care of yesterday and I went in there with such ease knowing I was in good hands based on my previous experience with Dr. Akkari. Once again, the whole process was completely pain free and I was out of there in less than an hour (the procedure itself was at most 15 minutes). Also, I cant understand why there are a few negative reviews about their receptionists. Rita has always been super sweet & I can't remember the other ladies name but they have always been super polite and helpful with scheduling, rescheduling, checking in & helping me get a referral to an oral surgeon. And as always, his dental assistants are kind & gentle as well.

Jasmine, the receptionist, was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the process. I also felt comfortable and confident having Dr. Bebing work on my teeth. My previous bridge, which was done by another dentist in 1994, lasted more than 30 years before it finally became loose. Because of that, I decided to replace it with three implants. I started treatment in mid-December and completed the process in mid-May, receiving my molar zirconia crowns about five months later. The procedure went smoothly, and I am pleased with the final result. My only concern was that when everything was completed, I was asked to sign a document stating that the zirconia crowns were covered by only a one-year warranty, even though I had originally been told the warranty would be five years. Hopefully, that won't matter, and the implants, abutments, and crowns will last as long as my previous bridge. Overall, the staff was professional, and the experience was positive.

I did a lot of research before choosing a dentist, and when I saw how many great reviews this place had, I honestly thought it might be too good to be true... Still, I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. The team truly cares about their patients. They even remember everyone's name. (Seriously, how does everyone know my name?) More importantly, they recommend treatments based on what is best for the patient, not just what will make the most profit. I highly recommend this place. When a business has a Yelp rating above 4 stars and the number of 5-star reviews is dramatically higher than the number of 1-star reviews, that usually says a lot. In this case, the reviews are absolutely deserved.

I had a very disappointing experience at Moreno Valley Modern Dentistry…read more I went in for what was supposed to be a routine teeth cleaning. After spending nearly two hours in the office, the only thing that was completed was X-rays. Instead of getting my cleaning, I was told I needed approximately $4,000 worth of crowns and root canals. I have dental insurance, and after checking with my insurance company, I was told my estimated out-of-pocket cost should have been around $1000, not $4,000. Because of this huge difference, I called the office and simply asked for documentation explaining the treatment plan and costs so I could review it with my insurance company. Unfortunately, the customer service was just as frustrating as the appointment. The representative initially didn't understand what I was requesting. Once she did, she said I would have to come into the office to pick up the paperwork because she could only print it. I asked if she could print it, scan it, and email it to me, but she repeatedly insisted that "the system wouldn't let her," even though printing and scanning are two separate processes. There didn't seem to be any effort to help or offer an alternative. At that point, I had lost confidence in the office and asked to cancel my cleaning appointment. Instead of helping me, I was placed on hold and no one ever came back. I hung up, called again, and someone answered immediately and canceled my appointment without any issue. Overall, I left feeling like the focus was on selling expensive dental work rather than providing the preventive care I originally scheduled. The lack of transparency with the pricing and the poor customer service made me decide to take my business elsewhere.
