Game Show Battle Rooms - Kansas City

We celebrated my 33rd birthday at Game Show Battle Rooms this weekend and it was SUCH a fun night…read more There were 16 of us and we did the Classic Showdowns experience, which features games inspired by The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud. It was the perfect mix of competitive and hilarious, and it truly felt like we were on a real game show set. Our host Shawn and producer Blake were incredible. They kept the energy high the entire time, explained everything clearly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable jumping in. Even people in our group who had never really watched the classic shows were able to follow along and fully participate. It was organized, engaging, and just such a unique way to celebrate. We all left saying how much fun we had. I would absolutely book again and would love to try their Prime Time Showdowns next. Highly recommend for birthdays, group outings, or just a night out with friends.

The hosts were hilarious, engaging, and kept everyone involved the entire time. The games themselves were the perfect mix of friendly competition, teamwork, and laugh‑out‑loud chaos. The setup is super professional, the arenas are bright and immersive, and you can tell they've really thought through every detail to make it fun for all ages. It's truly one of the most unique things to do in the KC area -- great for families, friends, team‑building, or celebrations. We left already talking about when we're coming back. If you're looking for something memorable and different, this is 100% the place to go!

    Smash House

The last few years, I've been gifting my friend "experiences" for birthday gifts that we can enjoy…read moretogether. I stumbled upon a Groupon for a paint party at Smash House. Aside from paint parties, Smash House offers various packages to break items or have a food fight. The full price for the paint party is a little steep, but it was definitely a fun unique experience for the Groupon price. The paint experience is for 15 minutes but we ran out of paint with approximately 5-7 minutes left. The paint used is washable. We chose to wear old clothes without ponchos to fully experience the fun messiness! I would be interested in returning to smash some items!

This place is laughably bad. A curious concept, but the execution is horrendous. I can't even begin…read moreto understand how this place could be insured. Firstly, the interior (non-smash space part) is a mess and there are no warnings, insight, etc. that are given to you upon entering your smash space (which is a scarily narrow part of a room which is only separated from the next smash space with a black tarp). Most of the items to "break" are file cabinets and appliances which can't make a dent. Aside from this are the random glass bottles of death. Within the first 30 seconds of being in the room, one of the guests I was with started bleeding from his face after a glass shard bounced off of the wall and hit him. It was about that time that I almost slipped on a piece of a glass before I noped my way out of there. After about 10-12 minutes of time in the smash tarp, the front desk worker told us we only had 3 minutes left. We were supposed to have the room for 25 minutes (I actually appreciated the early cut off--thanks, friend!) Ultimately, we suffered one last casualty when another member of my party looked down to see blood trickling down her ankle and realizing it had also been cut with glass. 50% of our party walked away with injuries-and this was with us giving ourselves plenty of space, only hitting one thing at a time, and being very, very cautious. God speed to anyone who visits.
