I contacted The plastic surgery institute to book a consultation with Dr. Knotts. They didn't have any apts available before I was leaving town for three weeks but they said they'd tried to squeeze me in. I was so excited when they called me back a couple of days later to say I could come in early the next morning. All of the staff were kind and professional at the office. Dr. Knotts is really easy to talk to and answers all of your questions thoroughly and offers more information you may have forgotten to ask about. He was kind but realistic when describing the procedures and what outcomes could be established. He also had a good sense of humor which put me at ease. I didn't feel rushed and I felt heard and understood. I decided not to do all the lipo I had initially asked about but decided to just go with the breast reduction and he was very supportive. I never felt pressured or like he was trying to upsell me. He genuinely cared and wanted me to get what I wanted/needed. The day of my surgery was an early Monday morning he was still very kind and reassuring. The nurse and anesthesiologist at Sandia surgery center were also very nice, funny and professional. I really felt safe and taken care of. Before I knew it, the surgery was over and I groggily peered down at my new small boobies they looked great even then. My post op visit was short and sweet bc I didn't really have any questions and everything looked perfect! Every steps of the way Dr. Knotts has really made time and space for me to talk or ask as many questions as I needed to. His work is beautiful! I had asked for something specific preop that I didn't think was going to be possible but he nailed it! I looked at tons of other before and after photos of different surgeons around the country and I have seen very very few as good as my results. I went through many reviews of Dr Knotts on various sites and I don't think I ever found a bad one. Everyone seems to love him and his work, myself included. I really cannot recommend him enough. If I ever choose to do any other procedure again I will surely come back to Dr. Knotts. I'm looking forward to my next post op apt when I'd usually be dreading any Dr apt! I think that says it all.

As seen in the attached photo the botched gynecomastia surgery by Dr. Mayberry left me with a…read moredeformed chest that causes me daily depression every time I see It. As I later learned from online research and consultations with other surgeons my chest deformities are the result of Dr. Mayberry's failure to follow the fundamental rule of gynecomastia surgery which requires that some tissue be left in order to maintain some shape and support the breasts. Instead, (as Dr. Mayberry actually boasted about) he removed ALL of the tissue which left me with large indented areas known as craters along with significant sagging folds of skin. Although I have had two costly subsequent surgeries by two different gynecomastia specialists they made only modest improvements because of the difficulty of undoing the damage once it has been done. To date, I have spent more than $25,000 on the three surgeries. Looking back I now realize that there were red flags of Dr. Mayberry's incompetence for this type of surgery. At my final consultation the day before my surgery Dr. Mayberry casually mentioned that he only had one person who was unhappy with his surgery. He claimed that actually it was not the patient who was unhappy with his result but that it was his girlfriend. He also said another patient lost all feelings in his nipples after the surgery but that the patient did not care. After he completely botched my surgery I find Dr. Mayberry's comments downplaying the dissatisfaction of those other patients not credible. Now that I know of Dr. Mayberry's disregard of the fundamental rule of gynecomastia surgery I suspect he has had other patients who have had bad results. Finally, in addition to his incompetence Dr. Mayberry's arrogance and inability to admit any mistakes was very offputting. In a visit after my surgery when I pointed out the various crater areas he was defensive and hostile and immediately shot back "that's because you came here and told me you wanted all that tissue taken out!" I did not say that nor would I have presumed to say any such thing. I came to him to see if I was a good candidate for gynecomastia surgery and after he assured me that I was I left the manner and performance of the surgery to his professional judgment and skill. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that my trust in his competence was completely unwarranted.

It wasn't until after I paid and after the surgeries that he said he couldn't guarantee results but he never said that before I went through with it. Another Dr has to fix his mess and told me the rhinoplasty was the worst he's ever seen, along with the chin liposuction. He didn't go all the way through, he went half way, causing a double chin, which I didn't have before and I do not gain weight. I've been 120 since high school. He did not address the issues I asked. The tip was to be removed like the picture which was my main concern. Instead, the tip was left in tact, not even addressed, and he made my nose bulky and changed my nostrils which I did not ask for and my nose looks worse than it did originally. I went with him bc he was affordable but I realize now he's affordable bc he doesn't know faces. He did the surgery without addressing the actual issue and created an asymmetrical nose when it was symmetrical, all I needed was the tip removed. Don't go with this Dr just because he's affordable. I found a better Dr who charges more, however, his rhinoplasty reviews are all positive, not like here, most of these reviews are body surgeries, not the face. I would not recommend him if you want the results you pay for. The rhinoplasty completely destroyed my face and one nostril is bigger than the other. I recommend saving for a bit longer, don't choose this office just because it's affordable. You will get what you pay for and I know that now. He even yelled at me for calling him out and when I left the room, two patients waiting in the lobby told me they couldn't believe he raised his voice at me bc they heard him. This Dr destroyed my face, created asymmetrical nostrils, did not address the tip which the picture clearly showed was the only area to touch, destroyed my chin, which I had done to create a better jaw formation, instead now I have a double chin, and he lied before I paid, and after the surgery, said he couldn't promise results. If you want results, go elsewhere. This Dr lies, doesn't address the issue, and yells, which is unprofessional. Worst mistake of my life and now I'm botched and I have to get it redone by a more experienced Dr.

We have no cancer but both of my parents, my younger sister, my grandparents, both granfathers died young, at 49 and 63 of heart disease, 7 or my Dad's 8 brothers and my mother's 4 siblings....so much heart disease and only a couple people lived beyond 83 and many died in their 60s and younger. The NM Heart Institute was working through Presbyterian hospital at the time but not for long. There was a split and they built a wonderful facility across the interstate and we feel fortunate to have them. My cardiologist saved my life. He was a GREAT doctor, and I am alive today at 77 because of him and the Heart Institute. My husband died of cancer 19 months ago but used the Heart Institute over the years as have I. I won't be surprised if I have to use them in the coming years. I have gotten such good care over the years. They are outstanding. I most highly recommend them.
