The NM Heart Institute was working through Presbyterian hospital at the time but not for long. There was a split and they built a wonderful facility across the interstate and we feel fortunate to have them. My cardiologist saved my life. He was a GREAT doctor, and I am alive today at 77 because of him and the Heart Institute. My husband died of cancer 19 months ago but used the Heart Institute over the years as have I. I won't be surprised if I have to use them in the coming years. I have gotten such good care over the years. They are outstanding. I most highly recommend them.

I'm not sure how new the hospital is, but it FEELS new(er). It's very clean without having that sterile, hospital feel. I like the signage. I was also amused by the vending machine that sells scrubs. I suppose that would come in handy should one of the employees forget or need a new pair of scrubs. The nurse who came to attend to my Mom's friend was very pleasant. She engaged in small talk about her own personal life and had a caring demeanor. Overall, I think it's a nice hospital.

I came in with all the concerning symptoms of DVT after a long drive from Arizona, and despite my situation being stressful and unpredictable (my RV broke down, of course!), they found a way to schedule me immediately. To make things worse, I didn't realize I had crossed into a different time zone--so I showed up 30 minutes late to my appointment, flustered and rushing, only to find a full waiting room. I was mortified. But instead of turning me away or treating me coldly, the incredible ladies at the front desk showed me nothing but compassion and kindness. They understood the stress I was under and got me in right away, even though I know it must have caused a ripple effect in their schedule. They quickly ruled out a blood clot, which gave me immense relief. But what really stuck with me was the empathy, patience, and genuine care I received from every single person I interacted with. These women are absolute saints--and the kind of people you hope to encounter in healthcare but so rarely do. I have the deepest appreciation for them and their professionalism under pressure. I highly, highly recommend this clinic. They went above and beyond, and I will never forget their kindness during a really difficult day.

I will rate Doctor Chen a zero and advise anyone considering using him to consult another surgeon…read more Most women looked forward to having a "mommy makeover" but my surgery turned into a 3 year nightmare! It first started when my breast became undone and I developed a hole inside my breast. I literally could put a Qtip inside my breast. Doctor Chen did not provide any antibiotics for the infection nor did he offer to close me up. I asked about the scaring and he said no one was going to look under my breast. I could! I was called Botched by an ex boyfriend that broke up with me after the surgery. A few days later I ended up in the ER with a collapsed lung. I tried to get ahold of Doctor Chen through his office and medical center, but his guard dog Shannon wouldn't let me speak to him. Later, I developed a pain on the right side of my belly. You could see an obvious lump. Doctor Chen said it was fat and did lipo in his office. At least that's what he said he did. The pain got worse and never went away. I had a CT scan done and it showed a hernia. Doctor Chen called the radiologist and told him it wasn't a hernia, it was fat. Why would Doctor Chen want to change the results of my CT scan? Two surgeons both agreed it was a hernia. I went with one surgeon who performed surgery for a hernia. My stomach developed an infection. I had to have another hernia surgery because I oozed with contamination . I don't think I would of been in this situation if Doctor Chen treated me and followed up with aftercare. Doctor Chen only cares about money, not the patient. The patient is a template moneymaker. Doctor Chen does not want to resolve this. There is no medical integrity when a patient has to suffer. I should've left his office happy and feeling confident. I live with regret everyday. It's your body....buyer beware!
