My pollo marino, minus the shrimp and cheese sauce that should have been included.
    Michelle W.

I ordered the pollo Marino which comes with chicken, shrimp, grilled onions and cheese sauce, via Uber Eats. I requested no onions, add jalapeños. To their credit, they added plenty of jalapeño, but raw. No biggie, I grilled them on my stove top. The problem is my order had no shrimp and no cheese sauce. When I attempted to contact the restaurant to resolve, I got a sredy busy signal. Uber Eats delivered in a timely, friendly manner, zero complaints about the delivery of my meal by Uber Eats. My dissatisfaction lies solely with the restaurant.

    "Freshest El Grand Patron" 10/10

I love the colorful decor. The "freshest el grand patron" margarita was super fresh and delicious! Anna was our server and offered great service. The guacamole was tasty and the pollo mi tradicion was some of the best food I have ever had. All around a great experience and delicious dinner! Wish I lived closer to eat here more often.

    Hawaiian Fajitas

A different type of Fajita! I had the Hawaiian Fajita! It arrived in a half of pineapple, which added another layer of flavor. Mark ordered Pollo Ranchero, I ate the onions that came with his. (He doesn't like onions). Mine came incorrectly. I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants before, and I have never had this issue. The waitress got the manager, who fixed my problem. We have been here a few times, we have enjoyed it each time. Despite this hiccup we will be back!

    Margaritas

I'd like to say that all the staff was super friendly and nice. The two margaritas we ordered did not have any appreciable tequila. Also I tried to order a plain tequila, lime juice, agave margarita, and was brought a quite fancy one, which was fine, but not what I ordered. I had a soup which appeared to be tomato based with chicken and frozen mixed vegetables. My partner had a chicken dish which was a chicken breast about a quarter inch thick with a slice of cheese melted on top of it. Well, the decor was super cute! Sadly, we will not be returning.

    QUESABIRRIAS

Restaurant was so cute-- we loved all the hand painted furniture! The staff was wonderful-- super smiley, kind, and helpful! Now let's get to the food. The other Yelp reviews did not lie; this place was amazing. All starter dips were delicious, the rice was some of the best Mexican rice, quesabirria was great and chock full of beef, and carne asada was very fresh and delicious! 10/10 experience we'll be coming back! Also food came out in less than 10 min after ordering!!

Beef Tip Quesadilla lunch to go
    Kendra D.

I have been here 3 times already and have had nothing short of amazing service and food. Today for lunch I ordered a beef tip quesadilla to go which came with refried beans and the sour cream salad. The beef tips in anything is always tender. I was also surprised to have a bag of chips and small container of salsa with it. Such a generous amount of food for a lunch menu item! This us our go to Mexican spot near the base.

    Burritos Blancos

*This is a takeout review, I haven't visited the restaurant, yet!* The Dayton area isn't lacking in cozy Mexican restaurants, but this one is close to home! It's nice to see the building occupied again, and I hope Uno Dos Tres sticks around awhile because I'm looking forward to a margarita date night. But for now, I am relegated to takeout. I tried the Burritos Blancos - flavorful beef tip burritos covered in cheese sauce, served with refried beans and a little salad on the side. It was delicious - not overly salty like other Mexican restaurants in the area. Husband had the beef quesadilla, and the kids split a kids meal. Portions were average, and we were given chips and salsa for free which is not typical of getting takeout in the area! Unfortunately the salsa was the weakest point of the meal. May update my review when I eventually visit in person!

This is 1/2 of their dining room! We were there mid~afternoon and the crowd had not arrived yet!

Beautifully decorated restaurant with amazing food and prompt and pleasant service! First time we tried it and we both left full and happy!

Fajita chicken taco salad, an enchilada, a chimichanga, and a tamale. Very good food.

Good Mexican food at a reasonable price. It's a little bright from the fluorescent lights in the evening, but the food is great.

Clouds are threatening rain but the day is in the 70's and inside/outside patio doors are open. After a warm greating, we were seated and our favorite chips and salsa were delivered . We are off to a great start! The salsa is house made with chunks of tomato, onion, peppers sourced from New Mexico and other spices that come together perfectly. This is one of those things you want a day old - it gives the flavors a chance to deepen and is the best salsa EVER. Our son joined us for lunch (which was a treat for us). BUT he is deeply committed to their kid's Mac & Cheese. (SMH) and the chips and salsa. Dont blame us; he was raised better than that! Hubs and I ordered the Lunch Shredded Beef Burrito. (Our favorite meal at Chili Verde.). The beef is fork tender and so flavorable. Wrapped in a fresh tortilla and served with your choice of red or green sauce on top. We opted to use that awesome salsa to top our burtito tableside. Lunch burritos include one side. Rice and beans are the default options but I ordered the corn and hubs ordered the mashed potatoes. Dinner includes 2 sides and a larger burrito. The mashed potatoes are hand-mashed with a few chunks here and there and lightly spiced. These potatoes are a family favorite. The corn is whole kernals seasoned with onions and bacon and lightly sweetened. This is my all time go-to! Hubs also recommends the pinto beans. Served as a whole bean served in a little gravy/liquid; the side dish is peppery and yummy. The secret is out about this restaurant and it is always busy. I recommend making a reservation through open table before you visit. I posted pics of today's lunch including our empty plates that we easily could have licked clean!

We each had different dishes-- Green Chile Stew, Three Sisters (I asked for a combo of chorizo and beef and they said, "Of course!"), Sandia Sopapilla with shredded beef. All were excellent and were attractively plated-- it wouldn't have mattered, but it was those little extras that really elevated the experience. We were also given a bowl of their latest salsa to try-- sweet and mildly spicy watermelon! We are regulars here and always enjoy the food and the pleasant ambiance, but this brunch was truly exceptional. We ended our meal with a plate of puffy Sopapillas with honey to share. Delicious! **This is New Mexican and NM-inspired food, not the same as Mexican or Tex-Mex.** If you're not familiar with it, you may ask for samples of sauces and meats before you order! NM cuisine is less about piles of cheese and taco shells and more about the flavors of their regional peppers (which they fly in fresh here!). It's a blend of Mexican, Spanish and Pueblo Indigenous foods, not American-Mexican. And yes, you still get great chips & salsa, but you're going to want to pass on the refills to make room for the stars of the meal-- the e

All three had flavor, personality, and just enough mess to prove they don't skimp on the good stuff. (If your taco doesn't drip, did you even taco?) For dessert, I went all in with the Cheesecake Chimi. Imagine cheesecake got invited to a cinnamon-sugar carnival and decided never to leave. Crunchy, sweet, and dangerously addictive. The service was fast, the place was clean, and my only regret is that I didn't order extra napkins up front. Verdict: Come for the tacos, stay for the chimi, and wear a shirt you're not afraid to baptize in salsa.
