Best speakeasy in the burgh, hands down! Especially if you're a bibliophile like myself. Enter through the bookcase and prepare yourself for a fabulous night. The vibes are excellent, the cocktails are tasty and potent, the glassware is beautiful, and the service is impeccable. Check out the upstairs room for a cozy date spot!

Currently in soft opening mode, but it's beautiful inside, and drinks were amazing can't wait to see where this place goes! Pro tip - it's inside of Ineffable Cà Phê

Thank you Cynthia for being a great host! It was a slow night but Cynthia, the bartender, made a drink for me before closing (I got in late. This bar is a very classical speakeasy with a bookshelf as the door. The inside space is pretty cozy with cool decor. Definitely gives you a hidden vibe. The drink I tried was the Purple Rain, a very light gin based drink with brilliant coloring. It's definitely more on the light and refreshing side. Overall a great bar to visit!

Unspeakable just release their five new winter cocktails last week so I had to try them all over the span of two visits. They're all incredible but the Strange Lands with the house roasted sunflower orgeat is so unique and my favorite. As always, the ambiance is so cozy and charming. Word is starting to get out about this spot so it was a little busy the last time I went but any wait is worth it!

This is such a beautiful speakeasy right in Pittsburgh. It's located inside of Ineffable Ca Phe. The bartender was extremely kind and friendly. She gave us a menu but said that if nothing jumped out, we could tell her what we liked and she would make a drink for us. I honestly forget which two drinks we ordered but both were soooo good. I don't think you can go wrong. They have two floors, which is nice. We will definitely be back. This spot is perfect for a nightcap!

This is the newest speakeasy in Pittsburgh and is definitely worth checking out. Bar Manager, Eva, is creating some super unique and very tasty cocktails in a hidden space at In Effable Ca Phe. They feature Noire Distilling gins and vodkas. They are always creating new cocktails.

This is our second visit to the speakeasy. This is hands down the best in Pittsburgh. I know that their is another speakeasy in the city that is in the strip district. Trust me it has cool vibes but not like this place. This place is smaller in scale and better by a lot. When you arrive, you enter a small room, their is a book case and you have to open the case in order to get into the secret speakeasy. When you walk in you will see a small bar, small seating. We went around the corner and up the steps to the upstairs which is small, comfortable but very awesome upstairs. We got to meet Phat the second time here. He told me to never believe what Kenyan said about him (funny) from the distillery next door. Super nice guy and down to earth. This place is special and one of its kind in the city and around the area. Can't wait to come back here it's incredible.

The server was so nice and really fast too when you first enter it's through a secret bookshelf and the ambiance is super cool and has nice music playing the lights are all dark and there's a staircase around the side of the bar that leads to a second floor lounge area. I absolutely loved the vibe of this place but I came with a large group and there wasn't a lot of space to maneuver inside but they let us sit outside on a secluded patio area that was nice as well and they came to us and took our drink orders so we didn't have to wait around at the bar inside. The drink was really good although it was a little overpriced it was worth it for the atmosphere and the taste of it. I would definitely come here again this place was so cool!

Recently this speakeasy and I'm so glad we did! It was the perfect spot to grab a cocktail before dinner reservations. Eva was so friendly and all of our drinks were perfectly crafted. Can't wait to come back.

Proper speakeasy vibes. Cool hidden entrance. Way more space (downstairs, upstairs, outside) than you'd think at first. Really cool decor and ambiance. Server was nice and came to us at our table upstairs so we didn't have to go down and brave the bar. Unique drinks with Vietnamese influence.

We ordered several cocktails (can't even remember the names of them) and all were amazing. You can't go wrong. Our server was amazing - ask for Stacey! She was very helpful and attentive. She really helped make the experience even more enjoyable. They do offer charcuterie, flatbreads, etc for snacks. Listen - get the chips with Millers mustard. You will be asking for more chips! The dip had a nice kick to it. The only issue is parking. We ended up in the garage across the street which filled up shortly after we entered! I will definitely be stopping back again in the future!

(Sitting at the bar is the best!) We started with Bartender's choice (which is always a good idea if you're at a specialty cocktail bar), and we both loved what we got! They made me a Juliet & Romeo, which was gin, cucumber, mint, etc. they made my fiancé a Safe Return, which was bourbon, pineapple, cinnamon, etc. (didn't write down the ingredients so can't remember it all lol) I also got the classic Last Word, which was great! They didn't include the maraschino cherry garnish which made me sad, but I lived lol. I also tried the Euro Trip from their specialty menu, and it was delicious and very spicy from the ginger. They also had their own barrel select of Knob Creek, which my fiancé tried - so cool! The bartenders were super chill and the ambiance was great! A little pricey but worth it.

Apteka. This was perfect for my wife, who is vegan. An all vegan Eastern-European eatery. Great weather added to the ambience. Plenty of plants in the background. We had a foursome with my friend and his husband. Apteka offers a service where you place your orders at the bar, and they come bring the food to you when it's ready. We started off with Hungarian fried bread (Langos) and then followed it with Salatka ziemniaczana. Potato salad with greens. Entree we had the pierogis. I mean, we Had to, back in Pittsburgh. Only thing missing was the cookie table but the dessert was great as well. Everything was comforting and filling. Plenty for us two. They had a special collab beer with 2 Frays, a brewery that is really solid. Was just starting off when I was leaving Pittsburgh 5 years ago and now has been pretty popular in Bloomfield. Overall, Apteka offers fine dining, inspired dishes with a vegan twist, and is a must. Reservations are a must as dining is limited to the weekend.

This resulted in a chaotic atmosphere at the two places where you could order food and constantly having to get up from your table every time you needed something. The staff essentially became food runners and they were not very pleasant. We were told that we could not have an appetizer followed by our main course as "food comes out as it's ready." With the bar being backed up, this meant we received some apparently pre-made food even before our drinks arrived. Again, it felt chaotic. The final proverbial "straw" was that they sat strangers right next to us at the same table which was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. All in all, it was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. :(

I usually order an espresso martini with tequila, which I really enjoy. This time I decided to try something different, and while it was definitely a little odd, it was still good for one drink. The only downside this visit was when I tried to order another drink with a different fruit mixer, the bartender let us know that the cocktails are premixed now, which was a bit of a bummer.
