I found this really cool place while strolling through Lawrencville for the first time in ages. The decor is bright and welcoming. It is a very open space and there is even window to the street that lets in air and light. There are a ton of unique drink options and a small list of bites to go with them. I love that they have a "bartenders choice" option where you tell the bartender what your likes, dislikes and tastes are and they create something for you. I will definitely need to try that on a future visit. This time, I tried the cool handed cuke because I am a sucker for anything cucumber. It was flavorful and a perfect spring/summer drink. It didn't taste overly strong which craft cocktails sometimes can. I sat at the bar and service was attentive but not over the top. They knew I came alone but weren't weird about it (you'd be surprised how many places think it is the strangest thing that you would drink or dine somewhere alone). I've been to Bar Botanico many times, and it's always one of my favorite spots. I absolutely love the vibe and how clean and inviting the inside feels. One of the best features is the garage door that opens when it's warm outside--it gives the whole place such a great atmosphere. I also love the green vines throughout the space and the funny dog portraits, which add so much character. The drinks have always been good. I usually order an espresso martini with tequila, which I really enjoy. This time I decided to try something different, and while it was definitely a little odd, it was still good for one drink. The only downside this visit was when I tried to order another drink with a different fruit mixer, the bartender let us know that the cocktails are premixed now, which was a bit of a bummer. I came here with girlfriends on a really lovely, temperate Monday evening. We definitely didn't expect it to be as busy as it was, but alas. We were seated right away and were brought water pretty promptly. The menu is eclectic and fun and boasts of something for everyone (mezcal & gin girl over here). I started with the Dainty Dame and will be honest that it wasn't my favorite, but was drinkable. I also had Da Rockwilder, which I liked much better! I would give this place a 0 if I could. Don't go if you are with a group. We went in with 12 people on a Saturday night. There's maybe 20-30 people in there. We all go to the bar to order a drink. We're all going to drink pay our own ways but the bartender "Ozzie" said after I ordered two miller lights that I would have to start a check for the whole party of 12. We ordered a few cocktails off the menu and our bartender made them pretty quickly. All the cocktails at Bar Botanico are always delightful. While they can feel a little pricey at times, I definitely think they're worth it. I also enjoy the Bartender's Choice when I've gotten it before - they definitely know what they're doing here! Upon walking in no one greeted us or even walked over to the bar area that is facing the street for a good 10 minutes until I walked up to the bartender and asked for some service. The guy who waited on us was weird af and awkward af and was kinda rude to my gf when she asked about the drinks, but she asked me to not say anything after he walked away because she knows how I am. That is weird to me considering he is a bartender and his job is service and to be extra nice and extra understanding in regards to what's on the menu if someone has a question. Smdh! The other lady bartender who brought us our drinks was amazing, super nice, friendly and explained what she brought us. I made sure to walk up and tip her good after that. The drinks were amazing, actually some of the best I've ever had and the interior is super chic and everyone there looked happy, but the initial service we received or lack there of was horrendous considering what I paid and still tipped.
