First I have to say; any great dog trainer should be training/teaching the OWNER first and foremost! That's what I loved about Mariano! He came highly recommended by a close friend but was not the first trainer I contacted! Not only did he come to my home and listen REALLY listen to what I was experiencing with my young pitbull puppy, he seemed genuinely interested in learning my specific needs. Many of the trainers I interviewed seemed to have a very "blanket method" approach; some weren't even interested in meeting my dog first which I thought was odd. A lot of our sessions were just discussing issues or challenges and then addressing those on the spot. He taught my dog the basics and me, how to continue training those things. But he also was very caring towards my dog and always customized our time together based on what I was needing out of it. He also took the time to explain the "why" in a lot of what he taught me so it wasn't just a command but rather "here's why this is important to learn" I wish I could afford more work with Mariano; he's hands down the best! We have boarded once too but that was hard on ME so have not been back for those services yet! Lol. Keegan is a happy mostly well behaved 2 year old now and if we ever can use the training again-this is the only place we'd go!! read more

My fur baby did 3 weeks in the board and train program. While I did miss him everyday, my anxiety was at ease knowing he was around amazing people. At the initial consultation I knew this was the right place for my dog to be. At the 7 day mark I was able to come in to see him. The amount of change in 7 days blew me out the water. Mariano, McKenna, and the team at Untamed Dog Co. are absolutely incredible. My dog Elfo is a rescue with an abuse history and has had behavioral issues since I rescued him. He barked incessantly at anyone new, nipped at ankles (he's part Pit so the biting was concerning) and because I don't personally have any experience with training dogs he didn't even know basic commands. Elfo spent three weeks with Untamed. He came home today and he's more relaxed, better behaved, and starting to understand that it's my job to protect him. Not only do Mariano and his team train the dogs, but they train the owners as well. He gave me a much more in depth insight into why my dog behaves the way he does and helped me to understand the reasoning behind the techniques they use. I cannot thank Mariano and his team enough. It's incredible to see the change in Elfo. I honestly was skeptical that he could be trained at the start. But, Untamed was nothing short of amazing. He's still the same loving boy. But he's now discipled, obedient, and I feel much more in control. I have already given the information for Untamed to quite a few friends and don't plan on stopping. It can be difficult to find quality trainers and I spent a lot of time looking. I would recommend Untamed to anyone who needs a dog trainer without hesitation. Love this facility and staff. Untamed has made the difference in our successful Service Dog training! At about 6 months in we needed to have our SD puppy boarded but were also at standstill with training. The two weeks at UnTamed turned things around, our family learned how to work more effectively and the dog was so much better at trainjng with us. We have used them a few more times and also took advantage of some follow up visits at home. Our dog loves working with the staff and is so excited to see them. You can tell that the owner really knows and understands dogs and training methods and all staff clearly love the animals. The dogs are so happy and comfortable, I expect d to hear lots of barking when we walked up but we heard nothing. The neighbors dog was louder. They keep things very clean. read more

I have a dog that over time became aggressive toward strangers and more importantly people at boarding facilities. It got to the point where I was never going to be able to leave my home for a vacation or to visit my grandchild unless I either found a boarding facility that would take him or I put the dog down. I tried several very well regarded trainers but they could never develop a relationship with the dog to get close enough to him to train him. It became such an issue that I had scheduled the appointment to put the dog down. To make sure I exhausted all avenues I made an appointment with Mariano at Untamed Dog to evaluate my dog. Mariano was recommended by one of the previous trainers that didn't work out. Mariano correctly identified that no other trainer had ever developed a relationship with the dog so that he could "actually" be trained. Mariano felt he could develop that relationship. The day before I was scheduled to put the dog down I dropped him off for a 4 week board and train. That was a close call. The end result was a resounding success. We would meet back with Mariano and our dog weekly to observe the dog's progress and more importantly to be trained in the activities that we would need to continue upon the dog's return home to keep his training in place. Untamed Dog also posted progress videos and photos on Instagram which were very helpful. And even though Mariano took a lead role with our dog because of his history he was also able to get his other trainers to build a friendly relationship with our dog which further expanded his progress. I also have another dog who also became an issue with boarding facilities. So I also enrolled him with Untamed Dog for a three week board and train program. He also developed a very strong bond with everyone. Since Untamed Dog also offers boarding to graduates of the their training I now have a happy and safe place to board my dogs for the rest of their lives. I first met Mariano at PetSmart, where he was helping a rescue group find home for dogs. I needed some help with my Borzoi, a Russian Wolfhound. They are a very large breed sight hound. They are not only extremely strong but fast. Several times while walking Leo, we had a few awful encounters, from off leach dogs. From then on, Leo would react to every dog we would walk by. Marino, came to my house and taught me how to help Leo get though this difficult situation. I call him "The Dog Whisper "He is so talented and skilled in knowing how to handle dogs. His is so experienced, Leo responded very quickly to Mariano guidance, and I was able to learn so much as he taught me how to handle Leo. Awesome trainer. Sure glad I found him when I did! read more

Mariano at Untamed Dog is awesome. We bought a crazy Aussiedoodle puppy in Feb. of 2021 at 8 weeks. At 10 weeks we were done. She was terrible. I have raised many breeds of dogs without issue but this one bit and would not listen no matter what. After 12 interviews we found Mariano. He took her for 2 week bootcamps and we have been working with him for a year. Our dog is incredible. Obeys every command and will soon be a service dog. I signed up with Mariano for personal lessons about a month ago. I have a European working Dobermann currently 3.5 months old. Mariano has came to Our home for the 3 lessons we have done so far and we are so happy with what he has taught us and Copper our Dobermann. I contacted other trainers and did not feel very comfortable with them. Copper loves it when Mariano comes over for our lessons, he gets extremely excited and is eager to learn. Once Mariano leaves, I continue to apply what he has taught me and Copper picks up on it quickly. I highly recommend Mariano and am excited to continue our lessons with him as he is very personable with us and our dog. He is a great dog trainer. read more

They have been so kind to me and helpful from day one especially in the overwhelming world of dog training . They worked with myself and my little Chihuahua/terrier mix to help lower her anxiety through training. Quinn did the boarding program which I can not recommend enough! If I could give Mariano more than 5 stars I would, he is THAT amazing. He is the 4th (and final) dog trainer I went to to help me with my very nervous chihuahua mix I adopted from a rescue. This dog was so frightened of everything...people, trees, cars, the park, my yoga mat, the wind. From the moment I met Mariano he had my nervous pup eating treats out of his hand (which was unheard of with my other trainers), doing sits and downs and was even able to pet him in the first 15 min. The dog trainer before Mariano was still unable to touch him by the 5th lesson and could not get him in the down position in any of our sessions. I board and trained my pup with Mariano for a month and it was the best money spent, I wish I hadn't wasted money on other dog trainers. For being so young Mariano has a wealth of experience under his belt and has worked with ALL dog types for over a decade, from the very aggressive to the very timid and fearful. Mariano has an innate sense for dog behavior and will give you his plan that he believes will work best for your dog. He is well versed in balance dog training and has used many modalities to get your dog to the place you want them to be. He provides structure and a routine that ALL dogs need. My biggest lessen learned in searching for a dog trainer is to NEVER assume one method of training works for every dog. You could not teach every child math only one way, so why would a dog be any different? If you are open to what he has to say and you do the homework that he gives you, your dog will prosper. If you still have doubts, just listen to his podcast The DTP (The Dog Trainer's Podcast) or his Youtube Channel. He and his friend Brent spend hours discussing dog training and frequently have famous dog trainers on the podcast. His whole life is focused on one thing: connecting you to your animal in the most organic way. And he truly has made a difference in our lives with my pup. 100% + recommend him.
