Before I discovered all American K-9 I was 100% disappointed and discouraged with all of the previous training and gadgets that I had tried. I could not figure out why nothing was working. Wiggy was 3 1/2 when we adopted him back in February and there was no known history with much of anything. We knew he was fairly house trained before we got him and he did good on walks but there were times we struggled. He would get VERY excited when he saw other dogs and by excited, I mean jumping up in the air and barking. Although he was good when he wasn't stimulated by something on the walks, he would still tend to pull us. When people came over to our house or I came home from work, he would go crazy and jump. When Bob mentioned crate training, I'll admit, I didn't think our dog needed that - after all he was housebroken, but after getting him used to his crate, his behavior has totally changed for the better. Since we started that, he hasn't shown signs of aggression and he actually lays in it on his own! Walks are great and I can come in after a long commute home, set my things down, and then pet him without him jumping all over. We are continuing the training on each walk, but I do wish the training was longer than four weeks or that we had chosen the Board & Train as I feel like he still needs some work. He's great when there are no distractions or dogs are not close by, but we still have some issues. The training we got in those four weeks definitely transformed him into an obedient dog and walks are far more enjoyable and less stressful. 100% recommend for any reactive dog + family! I have 2 rescues that are 2 and 3 years old with 2 very different personalities. Healthy play together, *most* days, but a handful of explosive battles between the dogs that I would end up getting bit. My last straw was when I got bit on my face from one of my dogs. I have a child in the house and was devastated thinking I needed to remove the dog that bites from the home, but wanted to exhaust all options. I found All American K-9 online with all of the hundreds of reviews and decided to proceed. The initial call with Bob was an exchange of information of each of my dogs, what their reactive issues were with horrible leash etiquette, both pulling, one is an obnoxious barking dog, one is a pull and lunge and would bite if she felt threatened. He was completely transparent on what methods we will be using with the collars, sent literature over about crate training, dangers of dog parks, etc. and he was very direct so I could understand that my behaviors in the home would need to change with our dogs for us all to be successful. Our first session started by getting both dogs collars on and walking to a sit. It took almost 15 minutes to get my biting dogs collar on her because she was trying to bite and wasn't having it. I almost lost hope. My other dog had no issue with getting the collar on, but once she understood that I have a remote that will knick her with the ecollar her behavior was shocking. She would refuse to sit down which I never saw that from her before so after my attempts of putting pressure on her behind to sit she tried to bite me for the first time ever. Needless to say, I left the first session upset and feeling like my dogs were unable to be trusted to move forward. Bob was encouraging and said that he's seen the same reactions and we need to stick to it, everyday, there will be good days and bad days but you can't give up in the beginning. He also advised to get the dog crates immediately, and keep up with the collars as soon as they leave the crate. On our way home from day one I bought the crates at Petco and both dogs went straight to them and had the longest nap exhausted from the day one mental toll. But each dog has since naturally preferred their crates, walking in to nap on their own. At night they prefer their crates instead of sleeping on my bed. It's been amazing! We persisted with our walking at home with the heel and sit commands. By day 4 both dogs understood that collars meant going out for walks but also they need to obey to the commands. When we returned for training session 2, both dogs were letting us put collars on without biting or barking. Both dogs already walking at our side with massive improvement, sitting when told(more times than not) AND zero pulling or snarling when another dog in training was within 10/15 feet. Instantly relieved to stick with it and know there is a long road ahead with my one dogs anxiety, and focus on others but she sat and responded to the methods. It was INCREDIBLE. Over the next few weeks the behavior of my dogs was night and day, no barking at us in the home, no pulling on the leash, no sleeping in my room, when I see if any of their play shows any aggression the instant I grab my remote they retract and come to a sit at my feet. My biting aggressive dog literally comes over to my feet with tip taps of excitement every morning when I take the collar and remote off the charger. She sits EXCITED waiting for me to put the collar on her. 5 weeks ago she tried to bite my arm off over and over when we first tried the collar. We have a pack now, and I have so much relief and optimism that my daughter can grow up with our family dogs and we have so many more opportunities to continue working with the dogs to continue correcting behavior. I can't thank Bob enough for the information he's shared during each session, the success stories and even the non success stories, his 30+ years of experience and no bullshit attitude was exactly what my family needed. We "inherited" Zuko from our daughter who got him as a pup. Part Husky, he was undisciplined, wild and incredibly willful. He would howl whenever she left her apartment to the point management made her take him with her everywhere. He would jump on people when they came in the door. When we got our new GSP puppy we had already planned on having her properly trained so we could take her out with us frequently on our walks and to many outdoor cafes in the valley. We have a one year old Coton de Tulear. She did the 2 week Board and Train with Erika at 11 months. I am SO impressed. Before training she hated going on walks, pulled on her leash and was super distracted. She wouldn't come when called, she put anything and everything in her mouth (toilet paper was her favorite), she didn't listen AT ALL to any commands. She barked at everyone and would run away if we opened the door. After training she is a different dog. We knew that she would grow to be a large dog but we did not anticipate the anxious behavior that would grow with her. Arlo came into our home at the height of the pandemic and while well intentioned, we know now that she really missed out on key socialization while we were sheltering in place. At 6 months old, Arlo was 45 pounds. She was incredibly mouthy/nippy with me and while mostly gentle with our two small children, was rowdy, rambunctious, chewed on everything in sight, etc. It was exhausting. We were feeling so defeated when found All-American on Yelp. Arlo spent two weeks with Chase for the board and train program. We received regular updates on Arlo's progress and knew she was in great hands. After the two weeks, we met Chase in a local park to go over all of Arlo's learnings and to understand how we would continue her training at home. We now work with Arlo for 40 minutes a day. It's a commitment but so worth the effort. We asked Chase to do a follow up visit with us after training had ended which was a wonderful refresher on best practices and things we should be correcting her on. To say our quality of life has improved is a gross understatement. I so enjoy being a pet owner again. Arlo is well on her way to being a model citizen. My relationship with Arlo was the most contentious. She and I have such a special new bond because she a. knows that I protect her vs. her needing to protect me and b. I can communicate to her at any time. This is where the collar comes in. For anyone feeling iffy about this, don't. Used properly, this is a communication tool that doesn't hurt/scare your dog. I firmly believe we never would have figured this out on our own and owe Arlo's success squarely to Chase and this program. I can't recommend All-American enough. Holy smokes! Greatest trainers around! We are from California and flew one dog out for their board & train program and a week after, drove the other one up for the same program. Erika is the trainer that was doing working with them and her communication was amazing! I always knew my dogs were in good hands 100% of the time. Leaving your dog somewhere they've never been is a little stressful but she made the transition easy for this helicopter dog parent. My first dog that went for training is Daisy. She is a 3 year old American bulldog and was very skittish around people and would always pull on the leash. Always! She would jump up on everyone that would come over to our home which was annoying as she is an 80 pound dog. The videos of her training were so amazing to see. We were so proud of her progression in just a matter of days! It actually brought a tear to my eye and to my tough husband as well. When we got her back home, we made sure to keep up with the training each day. She has gotten more confident while out in public, following commands perfectly, and honestly it doesn't take much time to keep up worth the training. My second dog, Trouble, is a 4 year old American bulldog that is just huge. He is over 100 pounds and doesn't know his size. He will jump up on everyone and is just a powerhouse. My worry with him was honestly, could he keep up with all the hands on training! He is lazy. Very lazy! He responded very well to Erika and honestly with the first training session, changed his demeanor and was walking with a little more pep in his step and not acting like such a tough guy around other dogs. What I find interesting is how much these dogs actually love the training! It's something they look forward to each day. The comparison of these dogs is unreal and we are more than happy with their outcome! It was a lot of traveling but worth it and would do it again in a heartbeat if we had to. We are expecting a baby any day now and we feel like this will help a lot with having much more control with their obedience and know this was just what our growing family needed. We did a 2 week board and train program with our four year old cattle dog rescue Bunny in August with Heather and I can't say enough good things about our experience. We are now five months out from her training and she is a totally different dog. We love Bunny, but even with a lot of exercise and attention she came to us with some difficult to manage behaviors that caused a constant safety concern for her despite our efforts to train these behaviors out of her. She is a herding dog by nature, and this manifested in her lunging at every car she saw which caused us to constantly worry what would happen if she were to break away from her leash or get out of the house. It also made it it difficult for her to have a good quality of life, because her reactivity made it difficult to take her to places like restaurants or farmers markets despite her loving getting out of the house and meeting new people. She now walks completely loose leash without issue, can heel and practice self restraint when guests come over to the house, and has learned to not bark at us to demand attention when it isn't play time.
