I'm happy to call you after I wake up at 9pm or before I wind down to go to sleep before 8am if you'd like, but out of consideration, I avoided calling you during inconvenient times. I've never cancelled an appointment that I can recall, so I would be interested in the date that I cancelled. If I did, which I find hard to believe, it was definitely with more than reasonable notice. It's comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm sure you could easily fill the spot I cancelled. I can't call and make another appointment with a few hours notice. I'm sorry that those things happened but ultimately, I was unable to get my hair done over many months with your salon. It would have been stellar customer service to try to accomodate me after cancelling on me twice without me having to wait another two months (which would have been a total of four months since my original appointment) or at least offered me some compensation before I wrote a review. The fact that you didn't isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I just have no incentive to make an appointment when I have zero confidence it will actually be kept.

Honestly every time I have gone to a salon in the past few years, I leave disappointed. Last haircut I got was about 2 months before this one and they didn't cut it short enough or add any layers like I asked. It cost $150 and I was very unhappy with it. I showed Dennise some reference photos and she gave me suggestions and a walk through on what we could do to achieve what I wanted so that I wouldn't be surprised by anything. Unfortunately the picture I took with my new haircut doesn't really get the back of it so it doesn't do it justice. She did cut my hair slightly different because my natural hair is more to the curly side so she took shrinkage into consideration (and I wanted bangs). But my hair looked amazing! I found a group-on coupon and decided to go for a micro-dermabrasion treatment. Laurie is the esthetician who did this procedure for me.She is very personable and I felt comfortable right away. She also has experience and an impressive knowledge of the skin and the way the treatments will affect. All of this she shared with me as she cleansed and told me every step and why it was being done, her hands are gentle and she is very careful yet thorough. I really felt so good after and she sent me with easy aftercare instructions. Just went back for my 2nd procedure and will complete 5 or 6. This is a great spa and Laurie is a talented esthetician, and a wonderful human being. The rest of the staff are also very pleasant. Visit the Untamed Salon-you'll be glad you did. I tend to hop from salon to salon because I have yet to find someone that really gets what I am looking to do with my hair. I typically end up walking out of a salon pleased but not ecstatic with my hair. I felt the owner of Untamed completely nailed it and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I am so excited to have at last found someone that listens and is not afraid to give me the color I really want. I am thrilled with my highlights. In addition, the salon offered 20 % to new clients, which was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely recommend this salon to my friends. I was introduced to this salon at a fair in my town. They had a table and I took a pamphlet- I tried it and what a wonderful experience. I have never gone anywhere else and it's been over a year. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is so comfortable and that is important to me. I get the service of an upscale spa with a welcome homey feeling. The owner, Jen is my stylist and she is amazing- I also have friends and faimly I have referred there who were equally as please as I am. Every time I go and see Jen(owner) at Untamed in Auburn .I come away with such amazing hair that I am totally in love with. I couldn't ask for a better person to do my hair. Jen is always so kind and friendly and gives me exactly what I want. In the past in have had experiences with hairdressers where you ask for one thing and get something different. With Jen this is not that case at all. I can not thank her enough for making my hair look amazing every time. I first found out about Untamed Salon & Spa at the Auburn Fall Fest last year. For years I went to the same salon but when the stylists who did my hair continued to change, I knew it was time for a change. When it comes to my hair I am very wary and only go to someone who is referred to me. On a whim I called and just booked an appointment. I saw Leah last week, and she did a great job! She gave me a blonde balayage and managed to get the ends of my hair very light (like I asked). I also liked that the appointment didn't take as long as I anticipated to get my desired results (I've been other places where it can take up to 5 or 6 hours). I missed my 2nd appointment during an exceptionally difficult period in my life. I had just started a new job and was unexpectedly traveling between MA, Fl and Minnesota to help my 20-year-old son, who as of 3 weeks ago uses a wheelchair, get to a Traumatic Brain Injury specialist at Mayo Clinic. What bothered me wasn't simply the missed appointment fee. It was the LACK of Communication leading up to it. I never received a reminder because I was never asked if I wanted to opt in to or out of appointment reminders. When I didn't arrive, there was also no attempt to call or text to see if I was running late or if SOMETHING HAD HAPPENED. The first communication I received was the charge for the missed service on my credit card, not even from AshNHoney!!! I completely understand small salons need cancellation and no-show policies to stay in business, especially the location of AshNHoney, not exactly ideal or a nice area. My concern is that that customer service seemed to end where the policy began. A quick phone call could have determined whether I had forgotten, was delayed, or was dealing with an emergency. My first appointment the salon made an outreach call and text message to tell me "I could come to my scheduled appointment early since they had unexpected time available. When it benefits them financially to call come early to your appointments it also benefits them financially for you to miss your appointment, with no reminders in advance or calls when a customer doesn't show. Businesses are free to enforce their polices, and customer are free to decide whether those policies reflect the kind of relationship they want with a business. For me, the experience felt impersonal, when I sent a note saying the fee wasn't cool and explained the situation with my son, the owner simply replied "do you want to reschedule" LMAO. It was disappointing, especially considering that no reminder was sent and no effort was made to contact me before charging the fee. So if a customer was in the hospital after a car hit them, or a flat tire on the side of a road - AshNHoney still charge their fee. When a company that services its community cares so little about the community they run a business - I need not continue to support that business. My experience is I will be investing my hard earned money somewhere that is THRIVING doing business versus SURVIVING by charging for no service provided.

Almost every salon was closed or would charge me an arm and leg to come to the hotel. The situation was a nail biter until I called Salon West and found out that they were open! Although it is unnerving to go to a salon we had never used for the big day, we felt confident with the reviews online. I had fairly good expectations - but could not shake that shadow of doubt. We showed up for a trial - and was immediately put at ease. The salon has a very small, cozy and welcoming feel with big open windows, two stations for cutting, and a big red wall with the 2 additional sinks against it. I was happy with my trial, but after wearing it for the day I started noticing things that I wanted to change about it. Barbara was a joy, taking all of concerns, addressing them, and changing my updo style on the day of the wedding. My hair ended up looking more amazing than I had ever imagined! I absolutely loved it! In 6 hours, Barbra transformed the hair of 6 ladies. Each girl had a different style, and Barbra did such an amazing job executing our hair styles while maintaining our individual personalities! All of our hair lasted through the night. (We are in our mid-twenties and danced the night away with no worries!!) Barbra was so great and allowed us to basically take over the space for the day! We were doing our nails, munching on lunch, doing our make-up and hanging out. She was so easy to get along with - and was really fun to be around on the special day! Barbra, we'll never forget you! Congrats on your marriage as well! This was the best decision ever!! I'd recommend Barbra to anyone looking for a fun experience at a great salon! After washing she parted my hair in the middle and cut my hair straight across. No cleaning up the ends, no smoothing or texturizing - just a straight blunt cut across. I was in the chair for one minute. She then asked if there was anything else she could help with? It was really odd. I did opt to have my hair blow dried. When I went to check out, I was charged 3x what the prices posted on the wall were. I questioned it, and she confirmed it was correct. My hair frizzed up within 5 minutes of leaving the salon, so I don't think it was dried completely. The way my hair was cut was literally what I did to trim my split ends myself during the start of the Covid pandemic when salons were not open. This was not a professional cut. Meanwhile, I have shared this story with with friends, including a couple who work in the industry, who were all appalled at what I paid. I tried calling and following up to express my concern a few weeks later and my call was never returned. I think this place was empty for a reason. There seem to be positive reviews from a couple years ago. Something has definitely changed based on my experience.
