Booked an appt here for my daughter 1 month in advance for a trim and a few highlights. Got there at 420p for our 430p appt and didn't leave until 645p!! Another customer was also booked for same time and we spent the bulk of our time sitting and waiting. My child is 10 so this isn't easy Also I had cut the back of my daughters hair and had asked for a shaved under cut for that section. What she did is not the same as the picture I showed and what they said they could do. My daughter is devastated and now walking around like this for holidays and I'm pretty disturbed we were charged $150 for a few highlights, this disaster in the back, and a trim that took 10 minutes of actual hair cutting. The Local Deal lead me to try a massage here & I'm glad it did! I was assigned to Kevin for my treatment. He was polite & professional -- much needed traits for a MT in my opinion. My hour went by so fast because I was so relaxed! The salon is beautifully decorated & the ladies of the salon seem to be friendly. I brought A $65 Groupon (wash, Cut, condition,single process color) and it went here on a whim. I got a very lovely haircut, but unfortunately the color of my hair did not come out AT ALL all as I asked. I wanted plantain blonde (I had a photo) & they gave me blonde highlights & charged me an $25 for the extra labor. That alone was very irritating & since I know nothing about hair I just blindly agreed thinking they know what they are doing. But I should have stuck to my guns, & because of that I now need had to call them back & find out if they ll fix the mistake. Awful haircut and even worse customer service! I'm not sure if it was because I had a Groupon or what but the stylist was too busy chatting with her coworkers to listen to what I wanted. This was after they had called to cancel my appointment the morning of (after I had arranged for and paid a babysitter) because their stylist called in and no one else wanted to cover. I left with a haircut that was way too short that looked like a 5 year old with toy scissors had done. It was uneven and a mess. I told her I wasn't happy with it and it looked awful and she said it looked great. I ended up going to ProCuts and getting my hair cut a second time that day to fix her mess. My hair is always fabulous, (as is hers BTW, which makes a client confident...you don't want a hairdresser with a hot mess on her head). Prices are more than reasonable for the services / expertise / ambiance you get at Untamed, (if you want super cheap, go elsewhere, but your hair will suffer), and you often find specials on products and services there as well. I don't normally get my hair cut professionally but went here based on a recommendation from a coworker. Everyone was professional and very nice on while making my appointments and greeting me when I came in. I can't say enough about how amazing Megan is! She actually really talked to me about my hair and how it normally is and what I wanted to do with it (a MUST with a curly-haired person). I also have fairly long hair and didn't want to lose a lot of length. She was amazing and very respectful of not chopping all my hair off. I was so excited when it was finished. I used to just have anyone chop my hair once and year and then let it grow back. She gave me a style that really improved how I style and wear my hair. Laurie then explained the process in detail and informed me that the process could take about 2hrs. I first thought to myself that this was going to feel like an eternity. Not so! I came with every persons' intentions of walking into a salon: walking out and feeling great! That was not how I felt after leaving here. i wanted to try something new with my hair and the hairdresser was not having that at all. I understand she would not want me to regret or get mad at her for doing something to my hair. But it was her tone of voice that was so unprofessional and rude. She made me feel dumb and that is not how you should feel when you are going to a salon. Just a few little things also, being rough with my hair, which shouldn't happen if she is an experienced hairdresser. Also, washing my hair with ice cold water, what is up with that?
