In response to the business owner's response: you did call me, after I wrote this review and as I've stated in my previous review, I sleep during the day because I work nights. I'm happy to call you after I wake up at 9pm or before I wind down to go to sleep before 8am if you'd like, but out of consideration, I avoided calling you during inconvenient times. I've never cancelled an appointment that I can recall, so I would be interested in the date that I cancelled. If I did, which I find hard to believe, it was definitely with more than reasonable notice. It's comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm sure you could easily fill the spot I cancelled. I can't call and make another appointment with a few hours notice. I'm sorry that those things happened but ultimately, I was unable to get my hair done over many months with your salon. It would have been stellar customer service to try to accomodate me after cancelling on me twice without me having to wait another two months (which would have been a total of four months since my original appointment) or at least offered me some compensation before I wrote a review. The fact that you didn't isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I just have no incentive to make an appointment when I have zero confidence it will actually be kept. read more

I can't say anything but amazing things about this place. Everyone on staff is amazing always so friendly and welcoming. I have the pleasure of having Iliana as my hair stylists. I can't be more pleased with everything she has done for me. I've changed my mind so many times to finally do the color I originally told her but I was to nervous to do even though she told me I could pull it off. First time here after trying to find a new salon in the area, looked on yelp and decided to give it a go and it worked out great!!! This is a very nice Salon! Looks can be deceiving on the outside but, when you walk-in its a very nice salon! Everyone is very friendly, you are greeted at the door, they take your jacket and offer you a beverage! They sell and use top of the line products like Goldwell, KMS, Deva curl, Moroccan Oil, and many more. I was having done a haircut and a full foil with low light's and highlights. You see 3 different people, they all specialize in one area. First, I saw Brandi for my hair cut, very sweet, she listens and is on point with her cutting she has 10 years of experience. Then I saw Amanda for my color, she is very sweet, listens, answers all your questions, shows you swatches and explains everything! They use Goldwell color which is a top of the line in the coloring professional industry! Then I saw another gal who did my blow dry, also very sweet and she takes her time to style the way you want to. I did not feel rushed at all, everyone was happy and all worked as a team! The owner was next to me cutting hair, he is very nice and strives to make his customers happy! I can tell this place takes care and really cares about their customers! Which is very important. Prices are wonderful! I was expecting to pay well over $200.00 but I paid $140.00 for everything. As a new customer if you check in yelp, yelp will give you a $20.00 off your first service there so I was able to use that and checking out the staff was very friendly and a it was a breeze. I didn't feel pressured to make another appt or buy anything. I did make another appt thou because I loved how I was treated and the way my hair came out, everything was perfect! I would absolutely recommend trying this place! The only thing is might be difficult for handicap or limited mobility because you have to walk up stairs. This salon has been in business for 34 years and the newer owner over 4 years going strong! I am happy to see that in this industry! read more

How have I not reviewed Scizzors before? I've been a loyal customer since Bledi moved to Scizzors, and I love the whole team. They are so customer focused and attentive and they KNOW HAIR! I finally have the haircut I've wanted for years! Bledi listened to what I wanted, repeated it back to me, asked about my hair care routine, and then went to work. I have curly (2C-3A) hair so Bledi used the dry cutting method then washed and styled. He optimized the curl and volume with the cut and advised me on products and techniques to repeat the success at home. I'm so thrilled to stop wasting money at other salons on a cut unlike what I asked for and then having to grow it out again to get back to ground zero and repeat the process. Hallelujah! The breath of fresh air and team friendliness. Jessica is just fabulous. All I had to do was briefly explain the do's and don'ts about my hair and she knew exactly what to do. I wish I took a picture of my hair before my cut. I've been looking for a hairstylist who would be able to help me find my hairstyle, since I've had tons of bad haircuts before. Bledi was friendly and professional with his consultation, and really helped me understand how the shape of my head would affect how my hair needed to be cut to achieve the look I wanted (taller, skinnier head). In the past I was asked what I wanted, but the stylist wouldn't really know what to do with my hair and I always felt that I was experimenting with my hair along with the stylist every time I went in. I actually came from a really bad hair cut last month. Bledi was honest in explaining exactly what needed to be done to my hair, and that I needed a bit more hair to grow out before I can get the look I wanted. I couldn't be more pleased with this salon. The owner is a very sincere person that has fun with the staff and the guests that come in. Their customers are all smiling when I go and I'm always treated like a rock star when I go in (who wouldn't love that!?). You can tell it's a very well run business because it's been around 26 or so years, the staff all seem to get along well with one another, and it continues to grow and thrive. One day I bought my mom a mother's day gift card, and the next day my darling mom lost it!! I called and Mindy at the desk and John (the owner) helped me to track it down in the system so my mom still had the credit on file without needing the actual card. My poor mom was so upset, but when they resolved it, she was really happy and should be going any day now for her mother's day makeover! I'll be going with her. Lots of places can cut/style hair, but not all places have the common sense to treat their guests like family and valued parts of their lives. I can't say enough good things about this place. I just moved from California where I've lived all my life. Every girl has their stylist whom they go to regularly. Back home it was easy bc I went to the same hairstylist for most of my life. After extensive research on reasonably priced hair salons in the area, I found one to go to to this morning. This place is really kool bc I read online that it's a very team based salon and they all share clients. That way it's not intimidating for customers to try different stylists out. Also their hair stylists are trained the same exact way so you get consistent results no matter who u go by. My hair cut and blow dry was done by Kimberly. I was very, very happy with this salon. When you arrive you are offered a variety of drinks and a nice comfy waiting area before your appointment begins. I had both color (2 color of foils and an all over color semi-permanent placed) by Kelly and a hair cut by John (who I believe is the owner). Both were fabulous. My hair color is gorgeous and John definitely knows his way around a pair of scissors! (He even fixed my bangs which were not even close to behaving) I can't forget the massage you also get with a haircut - very, very nice as well! Prices here are more than reasonable too. Their staff is very professional and at the same time welcoming and fun. Most people have been there for at least 3-5 years, which tells me they know what they are doing. They specialize in bumble and bumble hair care products - which I love and how I found this salon in the first place. I came back again for a haircut this time with Bledi and he did a wonderful job. He was very knowledgable, accommodating and helpful. I came in not knowing exactly how I wanted my hair cut and after consulting with him, he addressed my hair concerns, and gave me some options as to how we can resolve it. And not to mention the scalp massage was amazing. Many times my hair looks great after the cut and style at the salon, but after I wash it, I can't style it the same way and the cut looks awful. I really can't say enough good things about Scizzors. I have held off on writing my review as I feel the only thing that makes a fantastic experience even better is consistency. Scizzors gets 5 starts on account of having both. After having my first appointment back in February and my third and most recent appointment this past Saturday, I can say without a doubt that this is the best salon experience I have ever received. From the moment you walk in the door your are greeted with A+ staff that radiate a sincere passion for their jobs. Your comfort is their #1 concern and they will get you situated with water, coffee, tea, or wine if you so desire. It only gets better, as you are then whisked away for your pre-shampoo scalp message, wash, cut, and blow dry, all of which have fantastic results. There is no such thing as a bad hair day if it's a Scizzors day. Beyond the great hair, there is a true sense of camaraderie among the staff. Everyone is infectiously upbeat; between staff and clients, I have never seen anyone look unhappy at Scizzors. The warm atmosphere is unlike any I have experienced and seems to be a rare find for a salon. The only complaint I've heard about Scizzors is that it can be a little bit pricier than other salons, but I say there is no contest for looking and feeling your very best (and it's not even pricey in my opinion) . My only regret is that I've lived in surrounding towns my entire life and I've only discovered Scizzors now. While I love Scizzors and I want to give the entire staff props for a very satisfied customer, this review would not be complete without giving an extra special mention to Bledi who has always provided me with exceptional service. I have been coming here for a little under a year now and can't imagine going anywhere else. You can instantly tell the stylists LIKE working here and very talented. Everyone is super friendly and very professional. they offer a wide array of beverages to you the second you walk in the door, which is nice. Scizzors was my very first experience having my hair cut in a "salon" type setting. Being a guy, I had always felt that a hair cut was a hair cut and that you shouldn't overpay for it. Well one day I happened to have a coupon for this place so I decided to give it a try. Boy was I impressed! The staff is remarkably friendly, the service is unbelievable, and I was quite surprised that having my hair cut by a professional stylist really made a huge difference compared to the typical "barber shop." Scizzors treated me extremely well and offered a variety of "free" perks to go along with my haircut. The most impressive perk to me is the fact that I could get a free "clean up" if I felt that my hair was a little overgrown, but not quite ready for a full on hair cut. A bit of Boston in Shrewsbury! Salon The salon is very upscale, especially for the area. It's modern; one of the CLEANEST hair salons I've ever seen (and I'm a nitpick for cleanliness) with very tasteful decor and furnishings. You really do feel like you're in Boston, without the hefty prices. Cut I have very fine, thin hair, so cutting it requires a lot of skill, or I end up looking even thinner, and it takes months for my hair to grow out and recover from a bad cut. I saw Carissa for a cut, and she was amazing! She took the time to talk to me about what I wanted, and we worked out a realistic plan to get me the layered looked I wanted without thinning me out more. I was SO HAPPY with the results! Everyone I have met who works there is amazing. I had an amazing haircut with Bledi after reading a few reviews about him on this site. He gave me an amazing mini massage that I didn't want it to stop. He really asked me questions about how I like my hair and my needs (i.e. profession..etc.). He pretty much gave me an indepth interview on what I like and didn't like when it comes to hair styles. Based on that, he was able to conceptualized what I might like and he pretty much was on target. He gave me an amazing haircut and he was pretty nice to talk to. I guess after 2 months of living in this area.. I have found my salon and my stylist. That was easier than I thought, since usually it takes me months to find a stylist that I like. So kudos to Scizzors for providing great customer service, having an amazing stylist like Bledi and having reasonable prices that students can afford! read more
