I am not even sure where to start, how amazing this place is! I was planning a surprise 40th birthday for my friend/love from Brazil. I was planning spa treatment for all my friends and some celebration after. I was late planning this event and it turned out to be the best event ever. It felt like The Universe was on our side! I called few places but all booked for the weekend. I sent many emails to different places but no response. Finally I get a response from Unwind about hosting the celebration. Without waiting for another second, I called Kao at the reception and explained my situation. I had mentioned that my Friend is from Brazil and interestingly, I was told she and the owner are also Brazilian. I just had this instant moment of joy that its going to work out. There was no timing available on Saturday but she somehow managed to work this out on Friday evening. We all arrive on Friday evening at 6. My friends had no idea what was happening including the birthday boy. Birthday boy went for massage and facial. Rest of us had one of the most wonderful massage treatments (adding hot body towel at the end was "Crème de la crème", we wished it was longer!! Best part of this event was meeting the Owner Antonio, who had made this event just magnificent. I wish I had words to express my gratitude for his hospitality and how far he had gone to make this event so special for my friend. My friend apparently was complaining about his 40th birthday not having good Brazilian cake! Antonio drove 60 minutes each way to get this Brazilain cake and appetizers. My friend could not ask for more!!. I dont have to say more about this place. All the staff from the fornt desk, mssage therapists and finally Antonio are doing an amazing job to provide their service. Had a facial with Minerva. Booked a microdermabrasion facial and I came here due to a gift certificate I received but there was nothing that would intice me to return. The facial was fine. I'm always eager to learn what the esthetician recommends for my skin routine and changes I should be making, she provided some of that but it was almost forced. I was cold in the room and didn't think much of it but now reading other reviews I see that beds were heated for others -- I didn't have that nor was I even offered that. Also please be advised that you are charged a 4% employee wellness fee. This wasnt disclosed to me and I didn't realize that until they emailed me the receipt. I believe in transparency in pricing. This should be told to clients upon payment for their awareness. Either way the place is fine but there are other spas I would prefer to patronize moving forward. read more

She is considerate, understands your needs and caters each massage to what pain you are having. I originally booked a couples massage for my boyfriend and I. Everything about the treatment was great! My boyfriend loved his massage and they had champagne and cupcakes waiting for us when we finished. Unfortunately, I did not like my masseuse and the massage left me in a lot of pain. I left a review to let them know and the manager Antonio actually called me and asked me to tell him about the massage. He really seemed to care that I had a bad experience with it and he wanted to make it right. So he had me come back and booked me with a different masseuse, Aagi, who was amazing! My husband and I went here a few weeks ago for couples massages. We enjoyed them but were surprised they were still enforcing the mask mandate even for vaccinated customers which we are. We also were never informed about their covid cleaning fee which is in addition to any service and was never listed on the invoice sent before the appointment. When I checked out and the massages were more than what I thought they mentioned this fee and I said it was fine to add it to our bill ($5 extra). Then they saw my husband and said oh it's actually another $5 for him but we will waive it for you since we never told you about it. After we left I see the original charge credited and the additional $5 added back on. I did not appreciate my credit card being charged without my consent when we were told this fee would be waived by the front desk. The owner reached out but did not provide a resolution. read more

Unfortunately my experience was not on par with my expectations based on reviews I had read and the pricing for this place. Everything pointed to it being a 5-star experience--that was not the case. Massage therapists Andy and Flor did not introduce themselves, which should be standard practice when a stranger is spending one hour massaging you. They were friendly and courteous but everything seemed very rushed. I was not asked about my trouble areas and pressure. There was not much variety in strokes and techniques, and the motions were fast and almost too aggressive. Whenever the therapist would reposition me, it wasn't done gently. It honestly felt like a massage that I could give someone myself, or that a friend could give me. It definitely was not worth the price of admission. In a nutshell, I walked out of there feeling less relaxed than when I went in. Was expecting to walk out feeling light as a feather and sadly that was not the case. Spoke to the receptionist and she was very understanding and jotted down the concerns, stated she would let the owner know and that the owner would get back in touch with me within a day or two, but that never happened. At least they gave away a complimentary mini bottle of champagne, so thanks for that! Maybe I would return, but with a different therapist. read more

Their prices are very reasonable for the high quality, so I splurged on a 90-minute session and was so glad I did. The spa was clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking was a nightmare, but it's Georgetown, so whaddaya gonna do? The only thing that wasn't perfect: I wish they had a quiet room to relax before and after the service. My fiancée booked a couples 4-hand massage here for my birthday. (i know, thats a lot of hands) Let's start with the PROS: [where my 3 starts came from] 1. my massage therapists were great. No complaints there. 2. After i got we got out of our session, there was a birthday cupcake for me. 3. It was a cute location that has a lot of potential. Now the CONS: [the 2 other stars] 1. Our appointment was at 12pm and.... we didn't get acknowledged until 12:20 and that was after I said something like "Do you know how much longer we need to wait." After that, all of a sudden everyone's ready! I don't think it's very professional that they didn't inform as as to why our session was later than scheduled. This completely set the tone for the whole session tho. We have a packed day, and this didn't exactly help. 2. My fiancée's card was charged twice. 1 for both of us and another one for just a 1 person session. Now, she called and alerted them a few days later when we saw 2 charges on her card and they were very polite about it and refunded it right away. read more

This place went above and beyond on my special day in a way that I could never have dreamed of! My sister planned a day of pampering for myself and my bridesmaids for my bachelorette weekend and the service was spectacular. First of all, the facilities are absolutely beautiful. Everything is soft, classic, romantic, clean, elegant, and welcome! When we arrived, there was a gorgeous spread of snacks and drinks for us that were fit for a queen. We were instantly greeted with a warm welcome from everyone and we felt so comfortable right away. We received so much attention and had everything we could have wanted and more! The services themselves were phenomenal. We each got an hour massage and a half hour facial. I had never had either of these or really any spa services so I was a little nervous initially. Everyone who worked with me was so pleasant and warm and talented and professional so I was quickly able to relax and take in the experience. I felt better than I have probably ever after my services were done! There were comfortable couches everywhere and places to chat with my girls in between sessions. The owner even does floral arrangements as well and he made me the most beautiful rose bouquet- to keep!! He also had my favorite cupcakes ever (Baked and Wired, right next door!). Our marvelous experience lasted over 3 hours but I never wanted to leave! I am already planning when I can go back for a couple's massage with my soon to be husband! This was seriously one of the best days of my life thanks to everyone's kindness, talents, and warmth. To say the staff went above and beyond is a severe understatement. We visited Unwind's new location in Georgetown and to say our experience was Excellent is an understatement. The location is beautiful, right on the canal next to Baked & Wired. As we stepped off the chaotic street and into Unwind, we immediately felt comfortable. The interior is calming with warm lights and rich textures, and the receptionist was extra friendly. We were immediately taken to our room for a couple's massage. Our masseuse's Jewel and Oliver were kind and compassionate. Within minutes we were able to relax and enjoy the experience. Jewel is clearly an experienced professional. She worked very hard to alleviate my stiff muscles and joints and it worked. I felt incredible for the rest of the day. My partner said Oliver's hand massage was the best she's ever had. Unlike many massages I've had, this one didn't feel rushed or shortened, It felt like time slowed down. Her knowledge was came through during the first five minutes of our session while diagnosing my 'skin type' and problem areas. She took great care of my skin, giving additional attention to my problem areas. She was more than happy to answer all of my questions and share some amazing tips to keep the positive effects of a facial lasting longer. I was very pleased with the outcome of my facial, and even a week later am still noticing how clean my face is. Conclusion: Unwind is really a gem in the spa industry. I had booked the collagen facial, but when I arrived I let Minerva know that I'd just chosen that as a placeholder but was hoping she could take a look at my skin and give me a customized facial.
