We booked with them this past Labor Day weekend and had a great time. I think some members of my party were expecting less "mountain" and more "biking" than we got at the beginning, but Ashley and Andrew paid attention to us and our needs, and adjusted so those of us who wanted a more level and pavement-based experience could have that, and others could still try their hand at the trails. There have been many social events, with fun for young and old. Our campfires are great, and we welcome anyone in the park. Our pool is beautiful. We had it restored a few years ago, and is enjoyed by everyone. It is great for walking, tennis courts, horseshoe, volleyball, public showers and laundry room; storm shelter, (with wifi), bike riding, and small beach with playground. It is seasonal; open with private water to your unit from May 1 to October1; weather permitting . The storage garages are a great amenity. Each lot is entitled to a storage garage. If your unit does not include a garage, there are some available for purchase. A great place to be in the summer on the Whitefish Chain. We have access to 14 lakes. Always units for sale.

We were really looking forward to our stay at Ruttger's Bay Lake Resort, especially since our kids…read morewere so excited to use the pools. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were disappointed to find both pools closed--a fact that was never mentioned on the website or during booking. The website was also out of date, with no notice about the pool closures or the restaurant being closed. This lack of communication was a huge letdown for us and especially hard on our kids. After receiving a text that our room was ready, we checked in only to find the room still dirty. The staff did try to help by sending a manager intern, who found us another room, but that one was also dirty and needed cleaning. We ended up waiting an additional 30-45 minutes before we could finally get settled. Once we were finally in, we found the condo-style cabins to be cute and comfortable, with a nice deck and great views of the golf course and lake (though some big pine trees block part of the view). There's plenty of parking, and the property has several docks for fishing and a large marina, which was a big hit with our family. However, due to pool construction, the trail to the marina dock was blocked, forcing us to take a much longer and less convenient route. We had fun fishing and caught some big sunfish off the main marina dock. The restaurant had a nice deck and a DJ, but closes pretty early and the food is quite pricey. The community fire pits are a great touch, with plenty of wood provided for guests to enjoy a classic evening of s'mores. As a gesture of goodwill for the pool closure, the resort offered us a two-hour pontoon rental, which was appreciated but didn't fully make up for the disappointment and lack of communication. We tried to rent a fishing boat, but it had mechanical issues. The marina crew was super helpful and gave us a good deal on a full-day pontoon rental instead, which turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Big thanks to Rob and Casey at the marina--they were friendly, hardworking, and made our experience so much better. The kids had an absolute blast on the lake! We also enjoyed the ice cream shop and took out kayaks and other water toys, which were reasonably priced and lots of fun. At first, we weren't sure if we would return or recommend Ruttger's to others, but the marina crew truly turned things around for us and made the end of our trip memorable. I would recommend this resort to families and groups, but I really hope management improves communication, keeps the website updated, and ensures rooms are ready and clean for arriving guests. With a few improvements, this could be an amazing place for a family getaway.

My husband and I stayed at Quarterdeck Resort for 4 days and overall had a really great experience…read more We stayed in the Lakeview King Suite and the room was very nice, although a bit more outdated than modern, which honestly was not a big deal to us. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything in the room worked as expected. The only minor issue we noticed was that the bathroom sink drained a little slowly. While there was no daily housekeeping during our stay, the staff was fantastic about providing anything we needed. We also had an issue with a clogged toilet and staff responded within about 5 minutes, which was awesome customer service. That said, it might be nice to have plungers available in the bathrooms to save guests a little embarrassment. I absolutely have to mention that the nachos were some of the best we've ever had. The portion size was massive and they were fully loaded! Also the Cajun Alfredo was phenomenal (we even got it to-go a couple times to heat up later and it was still amazing)! Highly recommend!!! A few improvements I think would make the resort even better: * Better soundproofing. We were in room 124 and could hear the bar throughout the night. Thankfully it was never extremely loud, but it was noticeable at times. * Blackout curtains/window coverings instead of the current white blinds. The morning sun comes through very aggressively. * A fish cleaning house would be an amazing addition. My partner and I are huge fishers and caught over 100 fish during our stay, but couldn't keep any because there wasn't a place to clean them. * During our stay, we noticed the food prices we were charged did not match the menu we had originally been given. On the last night of our stay, we were provided an updated menu dated 6/3/26, which means we had been given an outdated menu while still being charged the newer pricing. Since our stay was from 6/4/26 through 6/7/26, it would have been nice to have received the updated menu from the start to avoid confusion, though I completely understand that new menus can take some time to roll out. (Plus there were newly-updated items on the menu that we would have loved to have ordered previously)! * There are currently no onsite laundry amenities available (at least for the suites). For guests like us who prefer to pack light or stay for multiple days, having laundry facilities onsite would be a really nice addition. Also, I saw a previous review mentioning loud headboards and can confirm that issue seems to have been fixed, at least in our room. ;) Overall, we had a GREAT stay and are already planning to return!

The Pelican Lake Conservation Club is a local organization dedicated to improve the lake,…read moresurrounding area, and its community members. If you live in the area please join the club, it's only a few dollars a year and all of the cool kids are doing it. Well maybe not "kids" as the average member age is about 65, but please don't let that stop you as everyone is very inviting, fun, and young at heart. If you are visiting the area stop by and take a walk on the nature trails or use the kids playground (both open to the public) and on the second Saturday of each month they host the most amazing pancake breakfasts complete with sausage, egg bake, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice for only $7. They also serve dinners once each month, and conduct the bar bingo and pull tabs at several of the local bars to raise money for other organizations in the community. This is truly a wonderful organization and I am proud to be a member! TIP: If you a member living in the area they have offer free composting area for your grass clippings.

Our kids are teens & tweens and they enjoyed themselves on the water tramp, bikes, canoe & water playground. I can see that this would be a fantastic place for smaller kids too. The beach is protected and shallow entry, the water playground is surrounded by dock, also feels very protected and safe. It's a quiet section of lake with perfect access to the chain of lakes great for boating, skiing etc. there's a convenient boat rental place right up the lake too. We will definitely be back.

Along the lake they have many smaller cabins that have great views of the lake. This family friendly resort has ton to keep you occupied! Mini golf, basketball court, old fashion arcade, swim area and raft, and tons near by to head off too if you feel the need. They have a boat launch and docks with boat rentals and a variety of water craft that require human power to move. The owners are super friendly and have something going on all week long to help if the fishing is slow. The gift shop is great if you need T-shirt or some basic kitchen items to save the run into town. This has been our favorite spot for the past 15 years and will be for years to come
