So much fun! Great equipment and fun and knowledgeable crew! Booked 2 afternoons of tubing and wakesurfing and had an amazing time!

This is falsely advertised as the Main Cabin isn't pictured on the website or included in the "tour" video. It's a roadside shack behind a fence with views of two bustling businesses and wake-up calls from trucks (at those businesses).

The location is great, easy trail access, and (somewhat) reasonably priced. We often leave on a Friday afternoon to get a night ride in. What is somewhat annoying is the temperature of the cabin is in the 50s (in the winter months) when you arrive. Meaning, we have to wait for the temp to rise before going for a ride as it's like changing in a walk-in cooler. Not the best way to start a ride on a cold winter's night. Though the other 5 cabins had a picnic table and fire ring, Cabin 1 had a picnic table buried in snow, and no fire ring (though perhaps it was also buried). We had planned on using both, so this was disappointing. It would also be nice if you didn't risk your neck having to navigate the narrow, icy path to the restrooms/showers. Lastly, each cabin should really have a comprehensive trail map on the wall. They would get so much use. Overall, it's a fun place, but could certainly use a tune-up.

They are very organized in this sense. Just don't make one of them mad. That's all I'm going to say. Otherwise, here are some simple but important suggestions I quickly learned: Three rules!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCK! STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCK! STAY AWAY FROM THE DOCK! (I bet they make more money for paint chips on the Waverunners than for the rental itself! lol Trust me, they have my "paint chip" money!) Don't get rocks in the propeller or it won't go over 20 mph!! (Not fun!!!) Don't forget to put the drain plugs in BEFORE you drop it in the water!!! (I have never jumped in a lake so fast!!) Don't forget your trailer hitch!

The pontoon was so dangerous to drive I would not let my adult children drive it. Complete safety hazard. Upon returning the pontoon, I reported the problem to Dave the owner. Not only did he not offer any discount, he didn't even apologize. He actually was offended I reported the problem. He was arrogant and rude. I have lived in the Brainerd lakes are for 30 years. I have never been treated so poorly by anybody, especially in this area. I should have read the reviews before I rented.

On the other hand, it was a little rough around the edges. Their website pricing is out of date. They also charge a flat fee for gas surcharge. Online they say they offer a half hour rental for a jet ski, but once I arrived that wasn't an option. Hour minimum - understandable - but would be nice to have the information correct online. I walked by Randy's and couldn't get ahold of him on the phone, couldn't figure out which building to approach with all the signs, so I almost gave up on the boating idea. I would recommend texting him to coordinate - he was very responsive to texts. The jet ski I rented was dirty, and the first one they tried to set me up on wasn't working. Also note they have a vague rule that you have to stay where they can see you. That was a little strange for a boat rental place. Overall it worked for the purpose of getting out on the lake last minute, but is no luxury experience.
