Took a minute to find the studio (look for the Chipotle and the door will be right next to it!) take the stairs to the third floor and you'll be greeted with a wonderful, calming space and a lovely receptionist. I loved the free herbal tea before and after class, really brought the whole experience together. The class was full with around ~15 ladies, but the studio space is large to accommodate. The only reason this studio didn't get 5 stars was the smell of Chipotle during class. Might not bother some people but imagine getting a big whiff of grilled chicken during your Shavasana! Haha There will also be some car honking and ambulances since the studio is located on a busy street. Other than that, the studio was clean and lovely.

If it wasn't for the welcoming atmosphere and convenient location of Woodley Park Yoga, I don't know if I would've kept up my practice. As a newbie to yoga, I take the beginner class on Saturdays at 11am and the guided quarter primary class on Tuesdays at 7pm, both taught by Elsie. She has a calming voice, goes over the poses for new folks, and encourages you through the more difficult poses. The beginner class is easier if you've at least tried yoga at another studio or at home with YouTube videos. Be prepared to sweat a little! The studio is sizeable and allows 13-15 people max depending on the class. You can store your yoga mat in the back room, and there are wipes for your mat. I don't usually see blocks or towels readily available, but ask if you need them. The studio is on the third floor of a four-story building in Woodley Park, above Uni Sushi (no elevator). There's a small bathroom in the back of the studio. If I can think of only one downside, it's not being able to pay for classes online in advance, even though you can reserve your spot online. You need to go to the studio and purchase classes directly with the teacher, which takes time before/after class if you're waiting for others to pay too. Better to just buy a pack of 5, 10, or 20 classes if you plan to come back regularly. Checking in relies a bit on the honor system: you write your name on a card and the number of classes, then cross each number off when you show up to class. Whether your a seasoned yogi or a newbie like me, I highly recommend dropping in Woodley Park Yoga for a class!

They have your yoga flow and they also have a more fast-paced "rocket" flow. Things to note: Because it's right by the street and a historic building, when loud cars/trucks pass by you do have to tune that out. You also have to walk up a staircase above Emissary (accessibility note). Overall I love the small studio and its small class sizes, historic row house location and brick walls, and have enjoyed the classes here!

The instructor was incredibly detailed with her cues and offered modifications and progressions throughout, which made it easy to follow no matter your experience level. One thing I really appreciated as someone traveling was that they provide everything you need. They have high-quality Manduka mats along with all the props, so I didn't have to worry about bringing my own mat on vacation and yes it was free! The studio itself is spacious, clean, and has two bathrooms (one by the front desk and another near the practice room), which was a nice touch. Another bonus is the location. The neighborhood is super walkable with lots of great lunch spots nearby, making it easy to grab a bite and explore after class. Would definitely come back the next time I'm in DC!

I've only been going for two weeks, but I've tried a variety of morning, afternoon and evening classes. I was looking for instructors that push you, yet understand if you have injuries or days you just need to take it easy, and I definitely found all the instructors to be that way. RSVP for Class I would definitely recommend signing up for class in advance. So far I've only been to a few packed classes (Sunday morning and Friday evening), but I'm sure there are other times that are pretty popular. They do allow someone in from the waitlist if you arrive early. Arriving Early I'd recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to get a good spot, but I also got there right on time for one early morning class and was fine getting in. The Studio Space The space is not huge, but they do a great job making it feel peaceful with plants and natural light. Hard wood floors and an angled roof make it feel nice and cozy. Even in 100 degree weather, the AC was working well. I like that the instructor is in the middle so everyone can see them as both sides of the studio face in. Front Desk Friendly and helpful front desk volunteers. A Couple FYIS: 1. Four Sets of Stairs Walk-Up For me, walking up four sets of stairs is a great cardio add-on, but FYI if you aren't in the mood to walk up that many stairs. 2. Newbie Offers Check out their website for their introductory offers as they don't all appear on the Mindbody app, and you can only use one. They're very strict about it. Final Verdict Love this yoga studio! They have the widest variety of times for yoga and a lot of great teachers. Also, love that there's a community feel here - instructors and yogis are all friendly and laidback.

Please email yogadc@yogadistrict.com anytime to cancel." I emailed the stated email address to cancel with at least two weeks' notice. No response. I emailed two more times asking for confirmation of email. I was then billed for a monthly membership. I have emailed them daily since then - four times so far - with no response. After they fraudulently billed me for a monthly membership, I added the three other email addresses included in their communications. No response from anyone.

I recently have started to search out yoga studios. I have pinpointed 3 of them to check out in…read moreparticular. Two are in DC and one is in Hyattsville, closer to where I live (in Cheverly). I attended Studio #1 last Saturday and loved it so much that I know I'll be attending that class and that teacher every Saturday (See my other reviews for my review of Yoga District....Wisconsin Avenue branch). Studio #2 I attended on Tuesday. It is the Hyattsville location---"Love Yoga". Initially I was a little thrown off to be honest with you. The teacher's style is 100% different from my first teacher at the other studio. I could tell that the first teacher (at Yoga District) has been practicing yoga for many moons now and that she is a master teacher. This teacher (Sherri) is happy-go-lucky and does not take herself too seriously. She goes with the flow, is funny and is a terrific teacher. I would not call her a master but she is good, and fun, and knowledgeable and challenging. She's hands on and is good at correcting postures. Right away she had us trying head stands, shoulder stands and a lot of other challenging poses. I broke a sweat for sure! The studio itself is eeny-weeny. There were 4 of us there, plus the teacher and that was plenty for comfort. However, I'm guessing that at least 8 can fit in there but it would be tight. Will I return? No. But it has nothing to do with the teacher or the space. It's just that the first teacher's style fits my personality to the absolute n'th degree. And so I'll be attending her class for as long as she teaches it. I have one more studio to visit and if I like that one, I'll have 2 studios to visit...but at least I have one for now. Do I recommend you attend the "Love Yoga" studio? ABSOLUTELY! I highly recommend you check it out. I have only been in Sherri's class so I cannot speak for the other teachers at that location. But Sherri is fun, hip, encouraging, and will work you into a sweat. Check it out!

Everyone really enjoyed and it was awesome that the various shapes, sizes, and athletic abilities present in our group could participate. Rating corporate gyms in the DMV area solely off the one thing that matters to me: temperature. I…read morejust moved here about a year ago, and the one thing I've noticed is that no gyms in this area are cooled properly. Yes--cooled. The temperature should be from 60-65, and anyone getting a good sweat and workout in would understand why that's ideal. Here, I was literally dripping sweat after a couple of sets on the leg press. No cardio before. Ridiculous. Oh, and the towels to dry off all the sweat? They were full size. That's all they had. No regular towels for the hot gym that causes you to drip sweat. I've lived in Texas, California, and Arizona--all of which were just as if not more hot than the DMV, with sufficiently cooled gyms. All I keep getting from gyms around here when I ask are excuses. I'm tired of it. It's unacceptable for a large corporate gym. If anyone knows of a COLD gym to lift at please, let me know.

If I could leave 0 stars I would…read more I joined as part of their pre-opening discount. However my job changed and I am now traveling 4-5 days a week. I called the club and asked to cancel, they referred me to their Gm who confirmed via email that my membership was cancelled (with 30 days notice which was fine with me). Life is good right? Then the drama starts... This email was on 3/11/25 so any reasonable person would thing it was cancelled 4/11/25. Instead they hit my Amex on 4/25/25 for the nexts months membership. I email the GM multiple times with no response (again I'm now traveling constantly so coming in person is not an option). Finally at my wits end I dispute with Amex. Amex approves the dispute with my proof in writing (and blocks all further charges from them). Then not only did they ghost me. Their 3P harasses me for payment on a membership I have clearly cancelled (in writing). And threatens me with collections. When I forwarded them the written confirmation of cancellation they stated that it wasn't sufficient and not in the clubs policy - I have to pay $450+ despite having written documentation my cancellation. WHAT?! So hear me out - an employee, at the club. With a club email said my membership was cancelled. Why am I now being threatened with collections for $450+ because of this and they refuse a Golds gym email as proof of cancellation! No one will call me back from the gym, and their 3P is abysmal. This is the horror story you hear about gym memberships. People screw up, but honor the screw up - especially when it's in writing. Spend the $ and go to equinox - this gym and their admin function is trash
