Recommend by several people, very courteous and complete. The technician when step-by-step helped me activate my computer.

I am a young woman in my early 20's and brought my MacBook Pro into Computerwerks to have my…read moreoperating reinstalled. Instead, they told me my hard drive was totally faulty and wanted $500 from me to install a new one. I suspected that I might be being taken advantage of, so I brought my computer to a different operation. Low and behold, I found out that my hard drive, in fact, was perfectly functional and they reinstalled my operating system like I asked. The fine gentlemen at Computerwerks, I believe, sought to take advantage of my naïveté and rip me off. I would NOT recommend bringing your computers here, especially if you are a decently attractive woman who's used to being ripped off by mechanics, repairmen, IT guys, etc.

My son brought his laptop in due to him having the blue screen of death. After their apparent…read morediagnostic being done it was the case that his hard drive failed and he needed a new one. He agreed to have them replace it also with that install a fresh windows OS. He agreed. He was able to pick it up and took it to work to check it out, he turned it on and created a windows username and pw and not even 10 minutes into it he got the blue screen of death. He came home so I explained I would bring it to them and have them figure it out. ( should have warranty behind their work right ? After less than 24 hrs of having it. ) I get there and explained to them what happened and a gentleman decides to explain to me the possibilities of being connected to a faulty router being the culprit etc. Etc. I get a call later and the IT guy states that supposedly my son ( or someone else) deleted everything he re installed on there. Ie like a factory reset. I explained to him to call my son he stated my sons number is wrong. ( he doesn't know how to read phone numbers correctly as it was the right number ) He calls my son and says all the files are deleted by someone hence the blue screen but if he paid another $175 on top of the first fee first time around he would do a fresh install. My son said no it would have to wait two weeks for my pay day. He stated for him to come pick it up so it doesn't sit here so long. I went with him to get it and talked to the girl behind the counter and asked her what sense does it make for my son to pay 310 dollars, go home delete all the files just to come back and pay another 175 to re install them again ? NONE!!!! ABSOLUTELY NONE. Long story short not a place I recommend for your IT needs. P.s. shouldn't look up how to install a ssd hard drive on. Customers computer. Very unprofessional. Also don't install anti virus software of your choosing without asking the customer first then accusing him of deleting it. ( left your anti virus software folder in the program files ;) )
