Absolutely outstanding service! I am a full-time RVer as well as a speaker, blogger, and author. We were traveling through Alaska during the summer of 2024 when my computer crashed. All of my book manuscripts, podcast audio and video files, as well as many other important documents were on the computer. I use Carbonite for backing up my files, but the memory on my wife's computer wasn't big enough for me to transfer all of my files to her computer. Knowing I had a very strict timeline, I contacted Up North Computers while we in Homer Alaska. I explained the situation to them and we determined that our best route was to ship the laptop to them so that they could have it diagnosed and back up and running by the time we arrived in Fairbanks. Andrew was my tech and he communicated great with me throughout the entire process both via phone calls and emails. By the time we arrived in Fairbanks, the computer was ready to go. We had a sit-down meeting to make sure that everything I needed was restored to my satisfaction. They even rearranged their schedule to fit me in earlier than we had originally discussed. Bought a PC a few months back that had some issues, so I took it into Up North to have them check it out. Turns out the components were not getting enough air flow and were overheating. Thor was an absolute pleasure to work with; he plugged my PC in and pulled up the graphs to show me exactly what was happening. He was very insightful and taught me a lot about how computers work. He said that if I got a bigger case with more cooling fans and airflow it would solve my issues. because I told them I was in the process of moving out of state, Thor stayed late that night and got in early the next day to work on my computer. He had it done WITHIN 24 HOURS! My PC runs perfectly now just as Thor stated it would. Impeccable customer service and even better communication. Up here visiting family and needed to upgrade the family computer. I looked all over Fairbanks trying to find a SATA cable and was referred to give Up North Computers a shot. Walked in and was greeted by the staff (didn't catch his name), let him know what I was looking for and he asked if I wanted new or used. Used was just fine for what I needed but was very happy they had a box of them that I could pick from. Had a power surge go through the house one night, the PC wouldn't turn on. Took five minutes to explain the situation and the gentlemen fixed it up and taught us how to fix the problem if it ever happened in the future. All free of charge. Great guys, and a great store. I know some people might be reluctant to have someone fix their computer, but if you have a problem I would definitely take it in to these guys. Great service and work, they turned my fuddy-duddy computer into a race horse. They are great at letting you know how the repairs are progressing and when you pick up your computer, they spend the time to explain what they did and making sure everything is working properly.
