Went fishing over the weekend and stopped here for dinner while in town. Older establishment on the water. Outdoor seating to watch the gators, mullet, and lilipads float down the inlet. You order up front and they bring the food to your table. Limited beer / bar selection but enough to set your whistle. Ordered the scallops. I was really looking forward to trying up the creek. The view was the main attraction of being able to sit out on the water. It was just as beautiful as I was expecting. The Baltic oysters left something to be desired. They had an extremely fishy taste and overall were disappointing. We loved the fried gulf shrimp and hush puppies. Conch fritters were not my cup of tea, as they were quite chewy but that's a personal preference. Came here for an afternoon with my girl friends. They open at noon and we were first in. You order at the counter then have a seat inside or outside. Everyone was so friendly and polite--great customer service! I ordered a dozen Baltic raw oysters--I could have eaten two dozen lol these oysters were HUGE, fresh and had a generous amount of caviar! Ambiance - This whole place is on the 2nd floor (yes there's an elevator) AND right on the water. Views are very expansive. Service - you go to the counter, pick your food, they give you a number card, and bring your order to you. Soda's and salad are self-serve. Reorders are from staff that come by regularly. Food - This is a great oyster raw bar, though it has other foods (mostly fried) but we only ate oysters $24 a dozen. we will return on our next trip through Apalachicola. read more

This place has really gone downhill since we last ate there. The oysters were SMALL and just dull. Not the big salty ones they used to have- I don't even think they were Apalachicola oysters! My wife's burger was made with one of those frozen patties you find at the grocery store. And the prices were outrageous. When my food hadn't arrived a few minutes after the rest of the table's had, multiple people went to see what was going on and resolve the issue. We came to Up the Creek Raw Bar today while visiting the area and it was awesome! We had our dog with us and they welcomed us to sit on the outdoor deck which had beautiful views of the water. They offered him water too! We had the peel and eat shrimp which were probably the best I have had in a long time and then the blackened grouper basket.
