Okay so what is a vegetarian doing in this probably seafood place? Had to make a pit stop somewhere for lunch and just walked into this dive bar. It has a very mixed vibe, the New Orleans vibe being majority. There are random knick-knacks that remind you of New Orleans including masks and beads. All of my options were close to zero when I explained my dietary needs. The bartenders and the staff were very kind to let me know that they had an extra baked potato in the back that they would make it vegetarian for me and loaded if that's what I would like. I said a loud yes as I was hungry and because they were kind to offer. They came back with so many fixings for one hot potato that I truly had to commend their service and their heart. It's been a couple weeks since I'm writing these reviews, but the people in this picture who work there are truly genuinely nice and want to make sure that your drink experience in food experiences through the roof. I had one of their boozy drinks and trust me the booze was boozing. Great conversations, happy staff, happy bellies and buzzy minds... Definitely consider stopping by the flying harpoon. Not pictured is my baked potato because I was not patient enough to take a picture... It was that good. But here are the staff who need to be applauded and given a raise :)

This was the #1 Yelp recommendation and it lived up to the hype! Go around the corner from the main little strip of restaurants and shops and you'll find the Flying Harpoon. Walk in and start admiring the wall art. Music, movies, psychedelia. Super fun vibes. Our server was super chill and friendly. Recommended the shrimp salad and it did not disappoint. Fried shrimp was just as good. I wish we still drank craft beer because they had a great selection! Lastly, be sure to check out the restrooms. And ask for crayons if you wanna draw.

Perfect for a low key but fantastic dinner. Its tucked on a back street and not and fancy or busy place. But the food was amazing!!

The food was great. It was memorial day weekend. It was packed. The service kinda lacked. But over all it was a great experience

Strap yourselves in, this is gonna be a long one…read more I was hoping to have a couple end of year reviews that were outstanding, so here goes. We had been camping at Torreya State Park but unfortunately, my ankle wasn't living up to expectations. Rather than put ourselves in a precarious situation, my wife got us reservations in Apalachicola and we drove down. We almost went to a little more upscale place, but as soon as I saw Hole in the Wall seafood, I changed my mind. Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but the best kind. Inviting, homie, Kitchie, and down to earth. The decor consists of hats donated by patrons. There are several wooden tables, including some large ones and a good sized bar. We opted for the bar. Cliff, the owner, is a former molecular biology professor and a fellow Hoosier. We noticed the oysters being shucked and they looked fresh and massive. We started off with a dozen raw oysters, a pound of their Cajun peel and eat boiled shrimp, and two grouper and oyster combo baskets with fries and hush puppies. Everything was outstanding. We ended up getting another dozen oysters. They were plump, sweet, and undeniably fresh. The peel and eat shrimp were amazing. They weren't just the typical throw some old bay on and dump a ton of butter in variety. The flavor was unique and rich. I joked with Cliff that I thought about drinking the juice and he said he had people order bread just to sop it up with. The fried grouper and oysters were outstanding. Big, flaky chunks of grouper, perfectly breaded and fried. The breading was just right. Light and crisp. Not heavy or greasy and the least. Ryan, the young man shucking the oysters, is obviously an expert, and each oyster was perfectly shucked. The beer selection is small, but excellent. I recommend the Oyster City Hooter Brown Ale and the Estrella Jalisco if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter. I can't say enough good things about this place. We'll be back... tomorrow.

Stopped by at the end of the day for bowl of gumbos and some fried oysters. By far the best meal…read morethat we had in apalachicola. Great atmosphere and a very friendly staff. Definitely recommend and will be back the next time we get back in town
