Old gas station reimagined as an oyster shack. Nicely done, and lots of customer flair with the dollars on the wall. Service was down home, friendly, efficient, timely. Came here after a recommendation and was not disappointed. Beautiful, plum, and delicious oysters. The shrimp boil was smaller than anticipated but tasty. Parking is limited. We parked down the street and walked because I didn't want to block someone. It looks like this would be a great place for groups.

This year we visited three times for lunch over a two-week span. Love the downtown location and how they've decorated both inside and outside. Our server each time was Christina and it's worth visiting just to chat with Christina (and of course her excellent service)! We had baked oysters - James choice sampler - rockefeller, parmesan and garlic butter and the station (Monterey jack, crab meat, bacon, sherry wine) - all very good. Additional food included - fried shrimp and grouper basket (good shrimp - thin pieces of grouper), fried okra (great), crab cakes (very good), grilled shrimp basket (great), sweet potato fries (good), raw oysters (very good), fried grouper backet (good), fried grouper tacos (good but lacking in ingredients and shell a bit hard) and great unsweet tea. This is definitely an excellent choice for lunch or dinner.

Cool little place in an even cooler town! The restaurant appears to have been an old gas station hence the name I guess. This place was delicious though and worth the beautiful 30 minute drive along the gulf. Of I had the get the oysters in the oysters capital and these did not disappoint! They were from St George's Island.. plump, fresh and salty just how I like them! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat just as fast. Highly recommend this place especially if you love oysters!

Best oysters! We made a special stop to eat a dozen raw. Friendly staff and really cute t-shirts.

For what you get, this place is expensive! My $18 fish sandwich was in no way a delicacy. I didn't think my wife's fried scallops seemed to be worth $19 either. The grits were nasty. The service from our waitress was great. No complaints there. I do have an aversion to being called "bud" or "dude" from a host, though. Not a lot of choices in Apalachicola, but I'd probably look somewhere else before visiting this restaurant again.

The inside of the restaurant. Used to be a gas station. Inside and outside seating. We loved being outside as we had our doggie with us.

Omg!! On our way home from Panama City beach we stopped for oysters in Apalachicola!!! The best decision ever. We had a dozen raw oysters that were so fresh you could swear they were just caught. We had the crab cakes and these two huge patties came out with tartar and ramoulede sauce came out. It was all crab, very little breading. The finale was the 12 baked oysters three ways - Rockefeller, Parmesan and the Station. The size of the oysters were amazing, they were lightly cooked but still juicy. The size of the oysters was so surprising as we had terrible oysters in Panama City that would make anyone hesitant to order baked oysters anywhere. But this place made me a believer again. This will be our stopping point anytime we are headed to Panama City.

    1st dozen up !!!!

When traveling in the Florida Panhandle area..... We almost always make a point to make a stop here. It's an old gas station turned into an Oyster restaurant. Fabulous tasting oysters with a great staff and the decor is great to look at with all the old gas station/ oil signs. Our Oyster Shuckers & bartenders today were Jacob & Delvin (called Doug... as we were told), Fun to watch them shuck oysters so quickly and they are shucked right in front of you.... Fabulous place. We're here for only 3 days.... They are closed on Sun & Mon. Lunch on Tuesday was a great treat... hadn't had oysters in quite awhile. We ordered 1 dozen raw, then another 1/2 dozen Oysters Rockefeller with another 1/2 dozen raw. Over the top delicious!!! Highly recommended !!!

Strap yourselves in, this is gonna be a long one…read more I was hoping to have a couple end of year reviews that were outstanding, so here goes. We had been camping at Torreya State Park but unfortunately, my ankle wasn't living up to expectations. Rather than put ourselves in a precarious situation, my wife got us reservations in Apalachicola and we drove down. We almost went to a little more upscale place, but as soon as I saw Hole in the Wall seafood, I changed my mind. Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but the best kind. Inviting, homie, Kitchie, and down to earth. The decor consists of hats donated by patrons. There are several wooden tables, including some large ones and a good sized bar. We opted for the bar. Cliff, the owner, is a former molecular biology professor and a fellow Hoosier. We noticed the oysters being shucked and they looked fresh and massive. We started off with a dozen raw oysters, a pound of their Cajun peel and eat boiled shrimp, and two grouper and oyster combo baskets with fries and hush puppies. Everything was outstanding. We ended up getting another dozen oysters. They were plump, sweet, and undeniably fresh. The peel and eat shrimp were amazing. They weren't just the typical throw some old bay on and dump a ton of butter in variety. The flavor was unique and rich. I joked with Cliff that I thought about drinking the juice and he said he had people order bread just to sop it up with. The fried grouper and oysters were outstanding. Big, flaky chunks of grouper, perfectly breaded and fried. The breading was just right. Light and crisp. Not heavy or greasy and the least. Ryan, the young man shucking the oysters, is obviously an expert, and each oyster was perfectly shucked. The beer selection is small, but excellent. I recommend the Oyster City Hooter Brown Ale and the Estrella Jalisco if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter. I can't say enough good things about this place. We'll be back... tomorrow.

Closed out the Apalachicola weekend with Brunch at the Franklin Cafe inside the Gibson Inn hotel…read moreand it was a lovely experience. First - the coffee was pretty delicious. Always important to me. I am particular about my morning coffee! I had the chicken and waffles and was absolutely blown away. The chicken was perfectly cooked and breaded and wasn't overly greasy. It's tough to get that just right! The flavors were warmed up and greatly enhanced by the spicy Tupelo honey butter. The heat didn't overwhelm the other flavors by any means. The waffle was really good but not great. I would for sure eat this again. My co-eaters got the bananas foster French toast and the Creole eggs Benedict with cheese grits. I tasted the French toast and it was just way too sweet for my liking. If you love sweet I imagine you'd like this. The person who ate it does like sweets though and still felt it was a bit much but did like it. She traded some of it away for the cheese grits. The person who ordered the cheese grits thought they were just okay but very much enjoyed the creole eggs Benedict. Some of the best they've had! I did not taste test - I can't eat eggs ‍ I will close out by saying the service was top tier. Our server and everyone in the restaurant was super nice and also knowledgeable about the town and area and answered all our tourist questions (or found the answers). I'm not sure I will be traveling thru Apalachicola again any time soon, but if I do I will certainly stop here to grab a bite!
