If you aren't familiar with NovaLashes, they are individual eyelash extensions and it takes some talent and practice to get them right. I was thrilled with the outcome and happy the Jennifer suggested a different style lash that curled because my natural lashes grown down. Initial investment is $175, but fills are only $45 (which is less than I was paying for fills before). A few days later and I haven't seen one lash fall off, which is atypical. The second clue was the giant rhinestone-covered jaguar hanging on the wall. The third clue was that one of the three salon chairs was broken. Things only got worse from there. The salon was strangely empty, the walls around the styling stations were bare, and though everything was covered in hair. Cleanliness did not appear to be a priority. When I asked to use the restroom before my appointment, I was directed down a hallway past several small rooms that gave off a vibe somewhere between a discount spa and the location of a future police investigation. At this point, every survival instinct I possess was telling me to leave. Unfortunately, the salon's Instagram photos looked fantastic, so I ignored all common sense and stayed. My stylist was polite. We discussed exactly what I wanted and I showed her multiple reference photos. She even told me the photos were examples of her work done at the salon. I felt reasonably confident we were on the same page. Then came the balayage. As the foils came out, I immediately suspected something was wrong. Way too much hair had been lightened, but I tried to reserve judgment because my hair was still wet. After another round of processing, toning, bleaching--or whatever step we were on at that point--it became painfully obvious that my hair looked nothing like the photos I had shown. Instead of a dimensional balayage, I left with top layer of all bright white hair, uneven color placement underneath, with a few patchy sections of what had been my hair. My natural color was gone, and the result looked more like someone had painted bleach all over my head to color my hair rather than a professional balayage service. When I expressed my concerns, my stylist called the owner on FaceTime. Rather than discussing solutions professionally, the conversation immediately became defensive. I was told they have plenty of five-star reviews and that I might be their first one-star review. I was also threatened with having the police called because I said I didn't feel the service warranted full price. For the record: I never refused to pay. I simply said I didn't believe the result matched what was discussed or requested. Meanwhile, my stylist looked absolutely terrified, shaking during the entire interaction, and I honestly felt worse for her than I did for myself. I paid, left, and decided there was no chance I would return even though the owner said she'd fix it -- but after having her talk down to my on the phone I had no interest in meeting her or giving anymore time to this place. The most expensive part of this appointment won't be the $175 I paid. It'll be whatever I have to spend elsewhere to have my hair corrected. If you're considering this salon, my advice is simple: trust your instincts better than I trusted mine.

They are different here, they actually only suggest what you actually need, no upselling). My skin is light years different than when I first walked in, I'm so thankful. I'm also way more educated on my skin now, instead of a 30 minute, 6 step AM/PM routine with multiple products that weren't working, I now overall spend less money, and have a way shorter, simpler, easier 5 minute skincare routine with less products, saving time and money, and my skin has never looked better. I travel FT and always schedule my hair needs around being in Indy. She always did a great job and enjoyed our laughs and conversations. And then it happened. I wasn't pleased with my hair. And rather than rectifying the situation, the salon has done nothing but run me in circles. Sadly, I've been cursed with especially thin hair and have been cursed to wear extensions for the last 15 years. And I've worn them all. Weft, tape-in, iTips, Clip-ins, halo, and now Fusion/Keratin. This was my first time doing Fusion/Keratin extensions and my first time doing extensions with Staci. Wow! The first time they were fabulous! Why lie, they were PERFECT!!! However, my first adjustment I had never been so disappointed. They were short, lacked any luster and the adjustment was more expensive than the initial purchase and installation. Oh, and half of them came out within the first 2 weeks. (Spoiler alert! Fusion/Keratin extensions should last 4-6 mos and should be replaced , see photo taken from website. If attempted to be reused, it is a very meticulous process that was not done correctly, therefore, did not work. Staci used iTips OVER the keratin immediately after taking them out and on the first adjustment.) I tried working with Staci to rectify the situation fairly, but it's clear Luxe does not stand behind their work or appreciate their customers. My hair looked worse than before and once the pieces started slipping out it was very choppy and looked horrible. (Side note that should be mentioned: On the initial installation, not once, but twice, I drove 2 hours RT, from the east side of Indy, and blocked at least 4 hours each time to have my extensions installed. Not once, but twice, I wasn't able to get them installed because the color was wrong and then they weren't delivered in time. This was 10+ hours of my time unaccounted for. Did I complain, no. Because I understood mistakes happen. That was my first mistake. I've made several attempts to reach out and rectify the situation fairly between both parties. The only solutions I were given were not acceptable to me. (They offered to take out the extensions or add more, neither which were reassuring to fix my hair.) Rather than calling me, as I requested several times, I was ignored and blocked on messenger, the only open communication I had at this point, and have not received a single returned call, even when I emailed and was told by the manager, Lauren, that Staci would call me. She has not. I have finally gone to another stylist to have my hair properly fixed. It was with my new stylist that I learned that everything she did was incorrect. Putting iTips over keratin was not a suitable option and that the hair is not meant to be reused, but if so they are only reusable after a very thorough and time-consuming process. I've never pretended to know anything about the process, but clearly whatever was done was not fit to do so. I'd have given two stars because I did genuinely enjoy Staci... until she seemed to block any of my messages on FB.

She said she loved highlights and by the way they turned out I could tell that she definitely knew what she was doing! It can be very hard to find a stylist that does highlights just how you want them! Staff was SO friendly and welcoming, I would love to go back & I super recommend this place!!
