My hairdresser is terrific! HOWEVER, CLIENTS BEWARE!! I was informed that because I did not cancel an appointment I was to pay 50% of the services scheduled. WHAT? I was prepared to pay a $50 cancellation fee, but I was not prepared to pay 50% of services NOT received. So, I paid over $200 for a cut and partial frost PLUS $107 late cancellation fee. I am STILL in shock. I was informed that the policy had been in place for a couple years. That's great but as one who is not typically a no-show, I did not know. *****There should be signs throughout the salon!! I'm sure this was a management call --and it was a bad one. read more

My previous stylist had been telling me my hair just would not do the style I wanted and I was forced to live with the way SHE wanted my hair, not the way I wanted my hair. Originally found this gem almost a decade ago with a Groupon. Now i specially make the trip out here each year because they're fantastic! I adore Ashley Chilsen and she never fails to make me feel pretty. They do lots here: haircut and style, hair coloring, perms, waxing, extensions, and massages. They also have continuing education for the stylists so they can hone their skills. The higher the level of the stylist, which is listed on their site, the higher the base pay. I guess when you make your appointment, you could ask what the base pay of that particular stylist will be. Prices on par for a salon that makes you look nice. Refreshments are available upon request. Beautiful venue and always clean. Every now and then i get an email where they put on a fun event or provide a discount special for the holidays or charity event. I've seen wine and canvas and couple massage packages. Necie was my stylist and she was very attentive and spent a lot of time with me to discuss the cut I wanted and what my style goals are. Do you enjoy supporting locals? I actually never even thought about a hair salon being local, but I love it! This place is like walking into another world or peace and really enjoying the experience. While waiting you are always offered a refreshment and can sit comfortably while waiting for your appointment. During the appointment it is usually a pretty peaceful conversation level and even more relaxing in the waiting room for color. I get color every other appointment and love the neck wrap! You must say yes when your stylist offers it. It makes waiting on your color feel like a treat! My stylist is Ashley Chilson and I love her. If you're looking for a new stylist who is young and very creative with color/cut/style, she is your girl! I was always very nervous about coloring my hair and I started with Ashley. She slowly added blonde to my hair and I'm not almost all blonde. I truly love how the color has turned out and all the credit goes to this gal. The prices are reasonable for my budget. I get a lot of my friends saying they pay a lower price for the same service, but I truly enjoy the atmosphere here and the welcoming staff they have. It may be priced a little higher, but you don't get the same experience everywhere. I'd also like to note they ALWAYS thank you for being part of their family. I love this salon. I have been going here for almost 3 years now. Jordan is my stylist and is always up for whatever challenge I give her! I love the interior of the salon. I think it is a house turned into a salon. Very cozy but definitely not small. the products the stylist use are always top of the line. I am always impressed at the continuing education that I see the stylists attending via their facebook page. It's great to know that they are staying on the latest trends. They always offer tea or water - go for the tea, it is very yummy! Prices are pretty on par with other salons in the area. In my opinion,you get what you pay for. My hair is something I "wear" every day so I have no problem paying whatever the cost may be for it. This salon is about 35 minutes from my home and is worth the drive. I went to this salon bc another salon royally messed up my hair. So this was a corrective color and cut. I checked the ratings on yelp and this salon was rated well, could see me that night for a consult and had availability the next day to fix it. Jaime is amazing! She stripped the black dye the previous "stylist" from a different salon put in my hair , corrected the color, cut and styled my hair and it turned out perfectly! Giving 2 stars because I genuinely liked the person who did my hair. I had changed the part in my hair a few days prior and the stylist said she was going to trim a few hairs at the end and not charge me since it was uneven. I said okay only because she wasn't going to charge me, and she spent 60 seconds taking a few little pieces off. I go to check out and I was charged $45. We called before scheduling to get a feel for the place, and their customer service was awesome. They were totally accommodating of the need for special care (sensitivity) and being immobile. When we arrived, the decor and atmosphere was quite lovely! Posh set up and feel without being snooty and over priced. Boy, oh, boy, am I glad I decided to go!!! I utilized a Groupon and called Shaylee Jenkins for an appointment. What a great salon! The salon is amazing! All the people who work in the salon are so friendly. It is by far the cleanest salon I have visited in a long time. Shaylee went above and beyond my expectations for a stylist. She listened patiently to my comments regarding color and the type of cut I wanted. She checked, re-checked and double checked again to be sure she understood what I wanted done. The salon is clean, comforting and cozy. The front desk staff is welcoming and answered all my questions when I made the appointment. Stephanie was my stylist. She spoke to me before starting in exactly what I wanted. I showed her some photos, etc but left a lot to her expert opinion. This place has bad customer service. The front desk staff especially Layla is rude. I have been their customer for more than a year now and supported them through out the pandemic in my capacity by recommending this place to everyone I know.Their is nothing wrong in asking for cancellation fees but asking by being rude and passing mean comments is not right on any level. They need to invest in more customer relations training. The cancellation policies are not upfront and they mention about policies being on website. It does not make sense when the appointment is made in person, coupons are being sent to home address and not on website then why would a customer be expected to view for policies on the website. This is a sign of being deceptive. I have paid my cancellation charges out of respect for small businesses. However they have lost a loyal customer like me. As far as the facial service is concerned it was ok but not the best. The hair cut experience was terrible as my hair was not trimmed in a straight line. 1 - because customer service from reception was great and 1/2 of my experience. The owner even gives you a Thank you letter with her contact information, which I found to be very professional. However my facial was ridiculously poor, when I called to make the appointment I asked if they were experienced and I was assured they were. I assumed because it was an Aveda Salon they were too, my mistake. I knew right away the girl that did my facial was not knowledgeable or experienced at all when I felt how she was cleansing my face, didn't address anything I wrote on the questionnaire, massage was terribly weak. The last mask she put on was dripping in my eyes, she made no attempt to wipe it so I had to ask her to and after when she removed the mask and couldn't see my face so I asked her to wipe mascara from under my eyes. There's more, but its a little upsetting to re-think this experience because I got ripped off. Checking out- She met me at the checkout counter face-to-face and let me walk outside with black flakes on my skin apparently from my mascara or whatever and didn't mention a thing to me. I noticed it when I looked in my car mirror that my face was not clean and couldn't believe she let me walk outside like that without offering me a tissue or anything & I noticed foundation make up around my nose and mouth area so she never cleansed my face properly at alThis girl really needs to be schooled, because 83.00 for this service is a ripoff and I tipped her too. I discovered this salon from a livingsocial coupon so I thought I would give it a try. I had no idea it was right off of Rockville road, it is kind of hidden and I struggled a bit finding the parking lot/building. The inside is really nice and relaxing, it is a nice environment. The staff is all really young and trendy, but not scary trendy that you wouldn't want them to touch your hair. So my stylist was great, she gave me samples of some products (although I couldn't tell if she just really liked the products or was being too pushy and trying to get me to buy some so she got commission?) and gave me a good haircut! She passed my stylist test of giving me a good blowout and being able to combat the cowlick I have in my bangs... if you can deal with that, you're legit.. if not, I will not be coming back. She colored my hair, and she actually listened when I said I wanted it to look natural and not have a thick skunk style highlights. She also helped me develop a plan for my next few appointments so I don't have to drop $200 on hair color every time! I even got a 30% off coupon for booking my next appointment. Really like Cass and Co. The staff is always friendly and I always get a great hair cut. The salon is well arranged. They do a little extras such as a short hand or head message with my cut. The shop has seminars on styling hair and using products from time to time. The business uses technology to remind clients of appts or to let you know of new products or classes or such.
