Giving two stars cause the place was pretty but my experience was not great. I came in for a blowout and asked for big bouncy curls. Left with my hair flatter than I had ever seen and curls that fell (I'm not at all exaggerating) within 5 minutes. I made it known when I was booking the appointment AND when I came in that my hair is extremely extremely long and they assured me they were able to take care of it. I should have known when at the end they asked "do you want us to re-curl the back because it's already falling." Well yeah, it is falling because the blow dry was beyond subpar, and you curled my hair with no product. I am a hairstylist who came into town and was looking to treat myself to my honest to God first blow dry because I usually do it myself. I didn't bring any of my tools with me because I thought I could trust the reviews of this place, but I could not. I ended up going to another salon to get it fixed and it was 1000x better and exactly what I asked for. I would not come back to this place at all. read more

Received the special "golden" pedicure by Jane. Was very refreshing, with lots of special lotions and ending with a 30 minute leg, foot and shoulder massage. This place is my go-to salon since moving to Katy. They offer so many different services, it's very convenient. Tien has done a great job on my extensions- I've never experienced any hair loss or hair thinning from having the extensions (which is what I've experienced from Other salons). First time customer. Lash lady of 14 years retired. 64 so wanted natural lashes. Specifically advised don't use snake tongue lashes (one lash that splits into 2 or 3 at end. Not natural). Showed her numerous photos of what I wanted. So get there 15 minutes early. In room on table getting lashes done. Employees are in and out of the room. Very noisy. Not private. After having had lashes for 14 years - I notice she is not adhering them to individual lashes. She is just placing them on top of a clump of lashes. Glue stinging my eyes a few times. Finish. She used snake tongue lashes. That look darker than normal. AND they are all over the place as in some are higher. Some lower. Not uniform in look. But I am leaving town the next day so what can I do? $165!!!!!!! Paid my precious technician $80 + tip. Leave town for Xmas. Lashes start falling off almost immediately. By weeks end - they are almost all gone. And what's disheartening is I have lost 30% of my natural lashes for some reason. Which is a new development. Previously lashes lasted 3-4 weeks. Feel like requesting a refund. Still might do so. read more

I have been fortunate to find Kenny at Uplift Salon. He did a superb job on a color correction that I was in desperate need of. He is always so accommodating to your needs and time. I've been several times since to have a toner and partial highlights done and he was honest right from the start about "what I wanted" vs. "what could be expected," including my allotted time frame for him to accomplish the job well-done, without rushing through the process, just to meet both, his scheduling needs and mine. Needing to be at work, before the job would've been finished, I then, rebooked a second day appointment with him, where he agreed to stay late (after hours) to accommodate me. I was very thankful for his time and careful consideration to the "expected" finished results of my new color and cut. Needless to say, I have no complaints having found this adorable, quaint, professional, high end salon meets cozy and chic. The overall quality and services of the salon itself exceeds my expectations. They are always so friendly in offering you a wide variety of cold beverages, beer and wine, as well as, an extensive service menu for nails, eyebrows and hair etc. I would recommend Kenny to anyone looking for the right stylist to provide you a full free Consultation prior to starting, so you are fully aware of what you are paying for upfront. I will say there prices can vary on the higher scale than some salons, but oh boy have I have learned, you get what you pay for! My big concern is always needing to maintain a short haircut and style and oftentimes, not specifically needing a trim or full haircut, but rather, texturizing and reshaping my overgrown cut and style instead, leaves me able to afford the price of a dry cut at $40 every 6 weeks. I've also found the basic toner to be helpful every 3 months to maintain my ash blonde color. This makes it fairly affordable for me, personally, in between booking a full haircut or overall highlights and/or base color when due. If you'd like to be eligible for discounts, they even offer a membership program to choose from that suits your styling and maintenance needs. read more
