We used a wheelchair for a week when my father wanted to see his granddaughter graduate college and knew he would not be able to walk the campus even with his walker. When my father moved in with us, they provided things like transfer benches to get him into the tub until the ones that we had ordered could get to us. And most recently this week, I broke several toes and was able to borrow a knee scooter for a few months Not only does this charity provide items that people only need temporarily and can't really afford to rent on their own. But they also help keep them out of the landfills and in the hands of people that need them

I'd heard of the Legion through my Military friends, but since my hubby and I are always on the go and finding new hip places to go with different activities, this just never came up. Even though it's literally on our very own backyard. The drink specials alone are enough to keep us here every weekend. There is however, a membership fee for Military, but it is very very minimal. Both my friend and my hubby are Veterans so it worked out great. The bar tenders are friendly and not afraid to try something new if they have the ingredients to make it. I literally showed them a recipe for a drink that he wanted and they looked it over a couple of times and had it ready within minutes. We will certainly go back. Not just the prices, but the comradeship of the Veterans sure makes everyone feel welcomed.

I once lived in a bountiful where an immense freezer could be filled with earth's goodness of vegetables and fruits for a small expense in miles and cash. Not that easy in Arizona. The freezer was donated to St. Mary's - and welcomed. We keep our pantry stocked. When the "Best By" dates geow near on pantry goods, they are donated to St. Mary's and refreshed. I want to contribute quality to those less blessed than I have been. And, St. Mary's, being a religious organization charity, blesses families, and individuals with the foundation of living - food. A good value for all.

This is my second time at the St.Mary's food bank and this place has been there for ages…read more The volunteering system is pretty good where we pack boxes with food. This is served all over Arizona. I went with my office team and there were many more. It's a great way to give back to community. We learned that these food are given to many homeless, below poverty line people. I am so glad to have volunteered at this place coz they organize it pretty good and have a well set system.

Several monthly potlucks and other social gatherings highlight their calendar as well. The brethren at Acacia are all very welcoming, and new candidates are always received with hospitality, fraternity, and genuine interest. The dedication of these men to the Craft is admirable and inspiring, and their presence is truly a blessing to the West Valley.
