It's way more than an RV park though. It has a great bar, great food, tons of seating indoors and out, live music on weekends, a convenience store for campers.....and excellent service! First, a shout-out to McKenna (our bartender) who ranks in the top 3 bartenders/servers we have ever encountered in our 60+ years on this planet. There were so many things that were exemplary about her, it would take half an hour to describe....so I won't. Whatever salary she is getting, it probably isn't near enough to justify the level of honest, real customer service she displayed. Kudos, girl! Lots of beers on tap, and I love that they had 4 or 5 from Calfkiller Brewery (local, amazing folks and beers). A great assortment of liquors, including some higher end and allocated bourbons. The place was squeaky clean and the other staff were busy, focused and attentive even at 3pm on a Saturday. Lots of TV's to catch up on your sports. The menu was large enough but not intimidating. Many burger choices, wings, sandwiches, etc. Portions were large enough to share a bite or two. The western burger was juicy and served on a quality bun with a perfect onion ring and bbq sauce....excellent. Side of tots were generous and cooked perfectly. We also had the wings with garlic/parmesan and I couldn't have made them better myself. Juicy inside and super crispy outside. Served with carrot sticks and celery sticks and choice of dips. The blue cheese dip had enormous chunks of tasty blue cheese. The other folks at the bar were fun/funny and friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer and experienced the live music and night life, but we will definitely be back....probably in our motorhome for at least a few nights. The RV park area looked well laid out, with long and wide concrete sites (at least the portion of the park close to the bar/restaurant building). We didn't check out the upper RV park.

A nice playground and easy access down to the water for angling. While there is no beach at the campground (due to being below the dam) there is beach access to the lake not far away by car.

In May some friends of ours called them to make a reservation for three people for the same weekend and asked to be close to us if possible and they were told that we didn't have a reservation. I called back and reserved the RV again for four people and this time put down a deposit. In July another couple who are our friends made an online reservation for an RV for two people. We all drove over six hours to the campground and when we arrived we were told by the Manager that they were double booked and she didn't know what she was going to do. She then proceeded to tell us that she had lost all of our numbers and couldn't call us to tell us what had happened, the whole time she was smiling and laughing. We told her that we had just drove over six hours and that she needed to figure something out. We were charged $100. a night for two extra people in our RV and we were not told that when we made the reservation. When I asked about the charge I was told it was for extra housekeeping fees. We had to go get our own sheets and towels. It was the same for our friends. She put nine of us into two RVs. We had our original four in ours which worked out ok. The other five she crammed into one RV that was not set up for that many people. When they pulled out the couch to make up the bed and it was full of mouse turds. I know that that can happen in the woods but when you are paying $150 a night you should expect it to be clean. Two of our friends ended up trying to sleep in the playroom because there was just no way that they could sleep in the RV. They had gotten in delivery of towels advertising the campground and the manger brought one out and was showing it off to everyone. One of our friends went to the office to find out how much they were and to buy a couple of them. He was told that they were $25 each ( too much in my opinion) and when he told the manager that he wanted to buy two she just gave him a look and walked away. She is supposedly a new and better manager than they had before, that is a matter of opinion. The theme for Saturday night was Luau and they had a special dinner that you could have for $40 a couple. We did not sign up for that because of dietary restrictions. The campground has a very nice pavilion with tables and a dance floor , they had the Luau dinner outside by the pool instead of in the pavilion. They started setting up three hours before the dinner and all of us that were enjoying the pool and sunshine was told that we had to give up our poolside seats so that they could move them and set up tables for the Luau. We were able to sit in the hottub and we watched them set up for the party. They had a woman who was topless carrying trays of silverware up against her chest and a cigarette in her mouth. They also offer free soft drinks which is a nice touch but the soda machine was crawling with ants even around the soda dispensers. The whole situation made us glad that we didn't pay for the dinner. When it came time for the dinner to start we went to the pavilion and set in some good seats for the dance that was taking place later. It started to rain and the people that were having dinner started coming in and we gave up our seats to them. When we complained about the way they handled the RV situation they offered us discounts for the next time we come. We told them that if they didn't make this right that we wouldn't be back so the discounts didn't mean anything, besides the fact that they lost our reservation in a months time so its hard to believe that they would remember to give us the discounts next year. Needless to say that we are very unhappy and won't be back.
