This campground isn't far from highway 40 but that hasn't interrupt my sleep. There's some upkeep needing to be done but I saw them busy working on some of those projects during our stay so that tells me they are striving to provide the best experience possible for their guests. This is a pet friendly campground. There's a play area for children and a pool for those warm weather months. There's a pavilion and a few spots to just sit on a swing and enjoy the day. Just this morning I saw a redheaded woodpecker. I'd recommend this campground for folks who love nature like we are. Id definitely return if we ever come by this way again.

During the first month, our children enjoyed playing outside every day, riding bikes, and using the playground. It felt like a welcoming community. Unfortunately, that changed. On the day our monthly rent was due, my daughter suffered an injury at the RV park that required an emergency room visit. While we were at the hospital, I received numerous text messages related to her registration and care. Unbeknownst to me, the park also sent our rent invoice by text at 12:36 p.m. Because our focus was entirely on our daughter's emergency, I never saw it. It was also our first monthly renewal, so I had no idea rent invoices would only be sent via text on the due date. The following morning at 8:00 a.m., I received a text stating that my rent was late and that a $50 late fee had already been added. I immediately found the invoice, paid the rent in full, and politely explained the situation while asking if the late fee could be waived given the circumstances. The answer was simply no. When I asked where this policy was disclosed, since nothing about it had been provided at check-in or posted on the website, I was told it was "on the invoice"--the very invoice I had missed while sitting in the emergency room with my injured child. Policies are important, but so is common sense and basic compassion. A one-time exception for a family dealing with a medical emergency would have gone a long way. Instead, the response felt inflexible and dismissive. We considered leaving at that point, but my husband works six to seven days a week, and moving our RV on short notice would have been extremely difficult, so we reluctantly paid the fee and stayed. About a week later, management sent a text announcing that children were no longer allowed to be at the playground or other common areas without an adult, and they were no longer permitted to ride their bikes around the park on their own. This was a drastic change from the environment we had experienced for months, where children safely played outside together every day. Between the lack of compassion during a family emergency and the abrupt policy changes that made the park far less welcoming for families, our overall experience declined significantly. If you're traveling with children or value management that exercises reasonable judgment and customer service, this may not be the right place for you.

It's way more than an RV park though. It has a great bar, great food, tons of seating indoors and out, live music on weekends, a convenience store for campers.....and excellent service! First, a shout-out to McKenna (our bartender) who ranks in the top 3 bartenders/servers we have ever encountered in our 60+ years on this planet. There were so many things that were exemplary about her, it would take half an hour to describe....so I won't. Whatever salary she is getting, it probably isn't near enough to justify the level of honest, real customer service she displayed. Kudos, girl! Lots of beers on tap, and I love that they had 4 or 5 from Calfkiller Brewery (local, amazing folks and beers). A great assortment of liquors, including some higher end and allocated bourbons. The place was squeaky clean and the other staff were busy, focused and attentive even at 3pm on a Saturday. Lots of TV's to catch up on your sports. The menu was large enough but not intimidating. Many burger choices, wings, sandwiches, etc. Portions were large enough to share a bite or two. The western burger was juicy and served on a quality bun with a perfect onion ring and bbq sauce....excellent. Side of tots were generous and cooked perfectly. We also had the wings with garlic/parmesan and I couldn't have made them better myself. Juicy inside and super crispy outside. Served with carrot sticks and celery sticks and choice of dips. The blue cheese dip had enormous chunks of tasty blue cheese. The other folks at the bar were fun/funny and friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer and experienced the live music and night life, but we will definitely be back....probably in our motorhome for at least a few nights. The RV park area looked well laid out, with long and wide concrete sites (at least the portion of the park close to the bar/restaurant building). We didn't check out the upper RV park.
